i should really get around to building a 4 stage large water filtration system plan. heavy sedament to ozone to uv to boil and cooldown. it wont have minerals but you could drink it without getting the squits!
I call it 'preferred bias'. its in every country in the world and will never go away because we are tribalistic humans. its about understanding it and finding your accepted tolerance. the thais do the same as do the malay, the singaporean, the swedes, the french, etc. everyone will prefer and have biases toward their tribe and treat the outsider like crap for simply not being them. just gotta work with what you get, sadly
chin up sammy. your videos are great because its NOT all smiles and sunshine in the land of smiles. its a home like every other with good and the bad. you're balancing it well.

@@GoneAdrift desal takes a lot of elec and you wouldnt need uv or ozone. heavy sedament to boil and capture steam, cool in pipeline to make clean water. not efficient per liter but would work for basic drinking water

The Thai people only put up with us westerners and the land of smiles is just a fantasy. There are many good things about Thailand and many bad things also. When I first started visiting Thailand my idea was to retire there but now 40 years later I prefer just to visit there. My Thai wife of 34 years prefers just to visit as well. The number one reason is for 6-8 months a year its to hot but there are many other reasons including that Thai's always will see us as outsiders and me mostly not accepting how hard it is to try and get certain things done there. Hope you fair a lot better

NOW after watching your post while I’m still in Australia, I can now tell her why she doesn’t have water 😆😆 got to love YT ,

Thai serenity (mei pen rei) is what we farangs lack. What I always feel is that as a foreigner you are generally treated kindly by the Thais but differently. Adapting and accepting the inevitable is the only sensible path.

Your right for sure. Thais don't like farangs to show them a new way of doing things for sure. My wife told me we need a new washing machine as it was broken. One youtube video later I had fixed it. I told her not to overfill the washing machine, she still fills it to the neck. I'm chilled about these things after 10yrs married it's just their Thai way. As for the water issue you have with the water being to hot, buy a dustbin and fill it up and the water will cool down then shower from the bucket. Its also handy incase the water does go off. We will never change them but their positives outweigh their negatives.

I understand the Thai way of thinking that you have just described, Although they may not say it outright to you, do you recall from your time in oz ever seeing the Boganesque bumper sticker "Fit in or F*ck off" its just now you live on the other side of the sticker. Your patience is far greater than mine in your situation Love the vids keep it goin.

just filled up the inflatable pool today to celebrate songkran with the thai family, and the colour of water is the least of the issues i have seen blades of grass too in the pool, but its all good. Hope you guys have a happy songkran. Keep "fighting" (never give up) as the locals say here.

Judging From Afar, Thais Seem More Polite Than Genuinely Friendly. I'm Not Saying They're Not Nice & Friendly, But It Just Seems More Respectful Than Anything Else, Which Is O.K. (BTW, On Average, That's Alot More Than You Get In Many Countries, Including The Western, Developed Ones.💯🤨)

Hi Sam & Lovely Lele, I am sure you have heard the expression ( TIT ) as a fairly young buck and your first experience living in a normal Thai environment, these things are normal like water shut & electric shut down from time to time. Very few normal Thai people pay any taxes because most are self employed so No Money to property train the staff or maintain these systems. That’s why you see hotels and large business have there own water supply and electrical substations to support their businesses. Of course it’s vastly improved over the years since I started to come here ( Thailand ) in 1978 I am a oldie 😂. You will never fully get the Thai way but over the coming years you will learn to adapt and live with it ( TIT ) it’s their country your only a visitor. I’ve seen it in Spain on a recent holiday ( Expats English ) complaining about how things are done in Spain and that the Spanish Don’t Speak English. As they say if you don’t like it Go Home. 😂
Keep up the great work Cheers Irish Paul

In my 1bdrm condo in Jomtien and l keep a min of 12 6 ltr bottles of water. Just got back from Makro and now I'm at 19btls. I have a lot of food on hand and can survive a month except fresh produce. Ex prepper from abroad. Keep a large container of water in shower for such times when ever the water is shut off.
