    11:16 wow it's 71 kWh added in 42 minutes. This means 100kW average speed from almost 0% to 96%. Great improvements from VW.
    Edit: I misleaded the starting SoC. Considering losses as well it's more like 90 kW average from 10 to 96%, anyway good result.

    • @bjornnyland
      @bjornnyland  ปีที่แล้ว +18

      No, it's 71 kWh pulled from the charger. What's added to the battery is way less.

    • @gabrielecomensoli2787
      @gabrielecomensoli2787 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      @@bjornnyland yeah for sure it's less, but not so much i do believe. If bms is not cheating, you charged from 1 to 96% and this required 71.5 kWh to be pulled from the the carger. Doing a 0-100% would have required 76 kWh to be pulled. If the net capacity of 74.5 kWh is correct, not so much energy was used for ancillaries/wasted on losses. Said this, you have the bms data with the app so i think it is possible to know exactly the added energy. I'm looking forward to see the full charging test!

    Regarding charging, the ID Buzz uses different battery cells than all the other MEB cars in Europe. ID.3/4/5/Enyaq/Q4 all use cells from LG Chem while the Buzz uses cells from a different manufacturer, which has not officially been disclosed but is rumored to be Northvolt.

    • @e-redj

    Always amazing how much effort you put in these tests. 👍
    It is soooo funny that Phat ETron is less efficient than a big van... for me the range, though, is still too short for a Van. Only 245km at 120kmh is too little for the price which is very high. But overall a good car, they should just have given it a 100-120kWh Battery in my opinion.

    • @winyettyu
      @winyettyu ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Yeah but if you decrase your speed to 100 km/h it goes well over 300, and on a 250 km strech you only lose 25 min. I have an e-jumpy 50 kWh and it is a good compromise between speed, range and consumption.

      Lets hope VW also do better with the Buzz software, as there appear to be a few issues with the ID3 and 4. One local chap I know has had his ID3 in and out repeatedly for 'glitches'..
      Its a pity.. i just think VW are a bit conflicted... Not Full ICE nor EV... Just a bit slow and laggy in their response and move to full EV.

    Do you drive in B normally? D would be slightly more efficient on the highway - because it coasts in D at highway speeds.
    Rain actually adds to the drag - the car is "whacking" into all the rain drops, and that means their mass has to be accelerated up to the speed of the car.
    An average car with 25 sq ft (2.32 sq m) frontal area, for every mile (1.6km) it travels, it has to push about 4.5 TONS (4,000kgs) of air out of the way! A larger frontal area (wider and/or taller vehicle) will have to shift even more air.
