That looks really great. Thanks for sharing. I have an old Rocket Ballz driver that's really good but I never liked the white head. Gonna fix it up like this and get it back out this year to take some money from my friends...
if its not baked it will chip. been refirbing my old clubs and drivers with K2 paint and baking at 60 degrees for 2 hours. paint is as hard as nails. and no chipping.
Just curious how it held up now that it’s four years later? Of course you may be onto a new driver by now, but I assume you kept the driver for a year or two, mostly curious how it looked after five or six rounds of golf? Thanks.
Wet sand the edges where the paint built up with high grit paper, the same you would use on a headlight resto kit. Then clear coat 2 layers and do the same, wet sand lightly. Then use a sealing rubbing compound. Great job!
Nice job. I do two clear coats of minwax poly and pour it in while in a vice and use super fine steel wool between clear coats. Your matt finish coat came out very nice. Good job!!
It looks good. Just a FYI. That little T is not just a Taylor Made logo. It is in the exact spot of the center of the face so you can hit the golf ball in the center. When you looking down on the top of the club, you can't see the center of the face which is where you should be hitting the ball. The little T shows you where the face center is.
I liked both of your videos, great job on both drivers. I just hydro painted an old driver of mine because I liked what you did, I Like different looks on driver heads. I hope you dropped a few strokes with your drivers new look.
How long did it last before it started chipping? Not being an ass. I did the same thing, same process on my r1 a few years back. 2 coats of black.. 3 clear. Clear started chipping off.
The paint holds up great! I have a few scuff marks on it because I let my girlfriend and a few friends hit it at the range and they were really getting under the ball a lot. As a result came the scuff marks but the paint has not chipped. I recommend putting a good two or three layers of clear coat and that should hold up fine.
p38shocker the paint did hold up. The only way it will chip is if you tend to hit under the ball which would cause the ball to hit the paint and scratch or chip some off.
You didn't sand the original paint before you sprayed it. Your piant will start chipping within weeks. You should have went to a trade school. FYI, you never clear coat flat paint.

That’s looks sharp. I’ve always wanted to do a Army Green. ( olive Drab ) this video gives me confidence. Cheers bud.
Did you ever do it? How did it go

Can that mess with the clubs integrity and performance?

Was looking to see what paint to use and you used the exact same ones I was about to get. Thanks

Well done video and well done paint job. Its great to see young people restoring items instead of discarding them. You should make more videos.
Hi. If you did again, would you have used gloss black instead of the matt?
Good job !!! Looks great !!
Bro- nice job. Might do a few more steps to avoid chipping. But over all awesome 😎

With no prep work done on the existing paint, Im interested in how durable the new paint was.
That turned out real good. Good job

A hair dryer works well to dry and bake the paint on quickly.
yo how is it holding up?
I have BEEN wanting to do this thank but mine is a all white RBZ
Did my old scuffed up Ping G30 head and it looks mint. Really easy to do on a G30 and the paint only cost £8.50 😃
Ok I started watching this thinking you were about to fk up an m2 driver ....but noooo that is awesome 👏
Alps P That comment made my day 😂🙏 thanks!
It couldnt look any worse than the black and white disaster.
What song is this? I dig it!
Top notch video man. I'm gonna try that on a putter.
Matthew Link love it!
Did you scuff the white side a little before painting it?
It's August 2019... can you please update us on how well the paint held up after many impacts with a ball? Thanks.

Hell I think it looks good man... I'm about to do mine in purple
Nice job! Love it 🔥
Not a fan of flat on glossy with drivers,I gotta say I am really diggin that.
Joe Jitsu thank you🙌
how do i submit pictures for the instagram
How many layers of paint and coating did you do
About four coats of paint and two coats of clear coat.
I think it was 3-4
Good job so much better that white.
Perfect got an m3 head and the piece you painted is totally scratched, bought it super cheap because of that. Gonna do it like yours thanks👍
Is it illegal in Junior tournaments to paint your driver
Tune!! Who is it?
Thanks dude
Did the paint hold up, and clipping?

How’d it hold up?
still hanging in there haha
Golf Heads sweet man Imma try it
Looks way better than white but that rattle can paint won't last brother.
Solid
Looks great but wont last as long as origional Only way to be 100% sure is powder coated,

Sorry but you should have wet sanded and wiped off to remove finger handling before painting...you may have bubbling and peeling down the road.
That paint isn't made to flex... after a few rounds that crown is gonna look bad. It's a shame to ruin a 2016 m2
What paint would you recommend?
Dude, you using your driver to smash rocks? What happened to the sole? Big nasty deep scuff and a cross angle... Should refinish that area as well.
IchTrommle it was given to me like that. It was free so I had no complaints lol. Not sure what the previous owner did to get those scuffs though...
Immense pimping
Yikes, looks horrible. Sorry man but those tape lines are rough. Try using an exacto knife to cut better and more accurate lines.
Loads better
