My Story: Four years ago, with no idea of how to sew or knowing anything
about embroidery or an idea how a sewing machine works and my then established golf business collapsing due to Covid-19, I decided to start KraveGolf during lockdown.
“It’s only 2 bits of leather he said, Can’t be that hard!" Well, it turned out it was. (I'll explain in a min)
However, years on... I now have a professional golf headcover business turning over a large revenue with my products being distributed globally. Not trying to be big headed here. My point is, without that original thought, I wouldn’t have the life I have today!
Motto... Follow your gut and trust your instincts. Just because you can't do something now, doesn't mean you can't do it all. Give it a go, try your best and you will be surprised what you can make happen!
Unfortunately, When I started I had no reference videos of how to make golf headcovers on TH-cam and had to work it all myself. There seems to be some kind of big secret in the industry of how to make golf covers. Probably because it actually "is easy" once you have the knowledge!
Now I have, I will give my experience and knowledge to you, for free, including links to the best, cheapest materials and machinery I have found to date.
Hope it helps!

Thank you for the video. Excellent work. You’ve inspired me try making a cover for my putter.
@@chrisaesculus5520 Happy to help. What style putter. Blade or Mallet? I'm hoping to have some spare time to upload a putter tutorial in the next couple of weeks.
Wow. Great tutorial. Thanks bud.
No problem 👍
I started this process about 5 weeks ago right before you posted this video and made my final copy the other night. Happy to see this now at least haha.
All good, You will get quicker the more you do.
great video even though
@@4golfing Thanks Buddy! 🤤
Kole, love your story and relaxed narration of the tutorial. I'm a fan now.
What type of scissors, the black ones did you use to cut down the excess?
Also, what model and brand is that mechanical machine that you used to sew the bottom shut?
Cheers, TEG
Cheers TEG, I use a pair of 12 inch Taylor's Scissors. You can find them in most hobby store or online. They are heavy to begin with but you soon get used to them. The Machine is a Tysew TY-3600c-1 cylinder arm ( I made a removable custom table to fit it). This way it can be used as both flat walking machine and cylinder arm. Link to their website is in the description! I got the idea for the table from this video th-cam.com/video/wvG_JjD3g3U/w-d-xo.html
I've subscribed back. Let's all learn together!
Hey Kole, awesome vid. Still trying to wrap my head around all of the details. Would you say 125mm x 250mm would work for a hybrid?
130 wide for hybrids 150 wide for fairways. You can make the length however long suits your needs. Nice to play around with the length on different designs.
Plus, I usually do length at x2 the width so you can fold in half for the elastic. Our sizes are 200x400 FW 150x300 and HB 130x260. Hope this helps.
@@kravegolf Immensely, Thank you
what is the green string you are using? It's not listed in the description. Thanks Great video btw, VERY informative 🙂
Hi Buddy, it's a 2mm grass strimmer wire. You can also use a piping cotton or parachord
What a great story! Well done you! My husband plays golf and told me I should think about sewing some covers for his clubs as I sew clothes. Looks like the embroidery side of it would be difficult as your machine looks pretty fancy! May give it a whirl without the embroidery. Thanks from and ex pat in Canada who escaped England!
Go for it! I hope to escape one day too! 😂
New Sub.
I Appreciate you showing this process!!
I may have to make one for myself, since I have all the equipment.
My pleasure. I'd love to see he final product once finished. Good luck.
When you sew on the liner is it wrong sides in or right sides in?
Right sides in. So, inside-out so to speak.
The liner is sewn together with the (finished) good sides inside and the bad side are facing out. Then, join to the cover as is. When you put your hand inside the liner to flip the leather over it you will notice your hand is inside the (Finished) liner. Pulling the leather over it does not effect the liners position. This way, It will then still have the good side (where you hand is) inside the cover the correct way around. Just fold and finish from there!
@@kravegolf one more question: are you just lining up the sewn side of the liner to the seam of the leather?
Using a slightly different pattern for my project. But liking your liner method.
@@TheMARcelyCELYes. You got it!
