- Let's set up my reading journal for September, and look over what I've read in August! This is only my second month ever with a dedicated monthly reading journal setup, but I'm enjoying it so much so far and learning a lot about what I like to track, record and decorate.

So aesthetically pleasing!! I was so shocked at the end because I also have a book club, and our pick for September is the Final Girl Support Group!!
Oh no way! Sister book clubs! That’s amazing Chloe! 😍
I am so lucky that I found your channel. I’m from South Africa and we also have a September spring. It’s refreshing 😃
I am going to steal the calendar idea. I never wanted to split my reading journal in months, but I also want to see how long I spend on each book. You sold this idea to me!
We can try it out for September together! 🥰
The same for me, but i'm from Brazil. I love Erin videos because the seasons are the same and I don't feel strange when I watch 😂
I love the way it turned out! I am the polar opposite of you lol! I cannot do audio books at all. I hate reading digitally. I pretty much only read physical books, and I have masses and masses of them, to the point that I am out of space on my bookshelves and am surrounded by massive stacks of books everywhere I look.
Haha you’re definitely not alone! I honestly always thought I’d be a physical book lover, I was surprised this month to discover I’ve changed on that! I also don’t have space for physical books 🥲 sometimes I see the lovely special editions of books I love and get jealous of book collectors but I’d still have nowhere to put them! (Also what are you reading right now?)
@@ErinSmith I probably should stop buying physical books, if the sheer amount of unshelved stacks I have is anything to go by lol! I value my books more than almost anything in my house. Currently, I’m rereading Little Women by Louisa May Alcott and Half A Soul by Olivia Atwater, and reading my way through Mary Oliver’s entire catalogue lol! I clearly need more hobbies.
Reading is the perfect hobby. Your collection sounds positively dreamy! 😍
I love that calendar idea, got to try it!
I’m always looking for new ideas for my reading journal! I really like your maybe next page! Great video!
Thank you so much! 🥰
🧡 I like the cover of The Woven Kingdom. Good job. Similar to my story, ' Take me captive. ' 🧡
Love your spreads! They are adorable. I definitely need to start a reading journal. Thanks for sharing yours!
It’s so much fun - I couldn’t recommend it enough! 🥰
Looks awesome Erin. I'm hoping I get back into reading again, especially as I already bought a book advent for this Christmas LOL
Ohh that’s such a lovely advent idea! I kind of want one too 😍
I never considered using my markers to put ink on stamps! That's so clever so I dont have to buy ink pads :) time to break out those markers I've got packed away!
Exactly! And you have so many colours to choose from! 🥰
Erin do you have a video about printing the book covers with the sprocket please?

@@ErinSmith Thank you so much!
I loved this theme soo much It's so soft and so spring and calming indeed and I loved how it also kind of corresponds to your actual journal September theme with scrapbooky and floral and pastel design it's just so lovely😍😍. And I know that you will DEFINITELY nail your October theme even tho I'm Muslim and don't celebrate Halloween but I'm excited about your journal theme for October🤣🤣. My internet is gone it just flew away so I'm using data right now I hope we get the internet back on quick and in 3 days I have to go to school as school is starting again and I'm nervous cuz I'm going to grade nine and it's even more stressful cuz if you have an Einstein elder brother who was the topper of your school then its a lot of pressure to score good and reach the expectations of your parents and even your teachers so you don't listen to the taunts and insults of them its kinda messed up tbh😑😑😒😒. But thanks Erin for making a great video and helping with all that stress I really appreciate all the work you put into your videos and take your time to answer my 200-page book-long comment lol. LOVE YOU ERIN!!! 😘😘
I love your comments Muskan! I hope grade 9 brings you wonderful things - my grade 9 was a really fun year! I’m starting my October set up today and I think it’s going to be pretty cute 😉 I can’t wait for you to see! Give Dora a kiss from Mitsu and me!
@@ErinSmith Omg OF COURSE!!! thank you for the mood lift love you
Love your book journal set-up. You are so very creative. This may sound like a stupid question but how to you get the book covers to print on your Sprocket? I seem to have a mental block on this process Lol.
There’s no such thing as a stupid question! I’ve actually got a short about exactly this 😉 th-cam.com/users/shortstVl2_EljjWE?si=JM-OItzLq2yzPVDf
I'm intrigued that you said This Woven Kingdom has similar vibes to India Holton's series. I'm a huge fan of those books, especially Wisteria Society, but I have been hesitant to pick up TWK since I didn't enjoy another book by this author. I'm now keen to move this up my TBR. Love this theme so much, Erin! Surprised to see the butterflies though XD Isn't Libby a wonderful resource?! I'm always trying to find books to listen to on there. Even if I have the physical copy, if I can find it on Libby as an audiobook, you best bet I'm listening to it. Then I can get things done and read/listen at the same time! Serotonin for the "have to be productive" mindset. Have a fab reading month ahead.
In terms of humour they’re not similar, but the vibes felt similar to me, and the narration! I haven’t read any of Tahereh Mafi’s other works but I did think this one was worth the time. Libby is amazing! I love that it has the audiobook percentage just there so you can update your GoodReads/StoryGraph so easily!
Hi Erin. I have a sprocket but wondering what you use to get 4 photos of books and playlists? Thanks, Carla
Hi Carla! I just save them to my phone from a Google search. From within the Sprocket app you can hit ‘select’ in the top right corner to choose the four photos you want, then ‘collage’ in the top left and it compiles it into the four-photo layout for you! I hope that helps!
@@ErinSmith thank you! Just tried it and succeeded!!
Do you have any tips for getting the backing off of the PET tape? I struggle with that so much!
Yes! Washi tape! Just stick a little over the edge of the PET tape, press it down nice and firmly, and then peel back the washi. The PET should come with it and lift off the backing 😘
@@ErinSmith I would have never thought about that! Thank you!
how thick is the sproket paper? dose it thicken the journal a lot? also every month is halloween book month :)
It is a bit thicker than regular paper, but only a little! I don’t find it makes my journal too bulky. It all comes down to personal preference though - I know a lot of people prefer a proper home printer and sticker paper - that’s much thinner!
How do you get your sprocket prints coming out looking so good? I recently got one and everything seems to come out vaguely faded and with a brown hue 🥲 also I've never really clocked that Halloween is in Spring in Australia and now I can't stop thinking about that! To me, Halloween is synonymous with Autumn and I can't image it being a springtime thing 😅
I think I just lucked out on the Sprocket - I know someone else who always has a red tint to their Sprocket prints. If you haven’t calibrated with the blue card in a while definitely give that a try, maybe even a few times in a row?
Having never experienced a proper autumn Halloween (it’s on my bucket list!) I only know spring spooky season 😂 it’s really not a big thing here but we do get some shops stocking Halloween decor, so those of us who care about Halloween just live through that I think! 😂
We can't move Halloween to its proper time in Australia, according to the Equinoxes, as the Autumnal/Fall Equinox here is essentially Easter. 😅 And yes it's a bit bizarre celebrating Easter with Spring images while the weather is better for Halloween and the leaves are falling off the trees.
It's the same for all the Southern Hemisphere.
Halloween is basically mostly ignored except as an excuse for adult costume parties
Nocturne Falls series by Kirsten Painters is good for October if you want a quick light and funny read. It is set in a town where Halloween is celebrated 365 days. Cozy paranormal romance what’s not to like
Thank you so much for this, it sounds right up my alley! 😍
@@ErinSmith there are a lot of books but they are mostly stand alone from one to another. Nice if you read in order because you often get presented in one book with one of the protagonist in the next one but no huge problem reading from wherever. I love me some 🎃
I’ve just added the first one to my Story Graph ‘to read’ list - they look like so much fun!
Hi, just wondering if The traveling Cat chronicles is sad? I have just had 2 deaths in my family, couldn't handle that.
I’m so sorry for your loss. Yes, I’d recommend giving it some time before you read this one 💕
Thanks, Erin, I had a feeling that would be the case. I am loving your post! @@ErinSmith
