    Mike when you say "adding new people to the resource team" it sounds a little like crashing. Is there an element of crashing in resource leveling?

    • @Onlinepmcourses
      @Onlinepmcourses  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      In crashing, you could choose to add people to the resource team. However, the added work of briefing them and getting them integrated would only be worthwhile if you had a long time to recoup the overhead - or you bring in experts to take on discrete chunks with minimal briefing. Crashing presupposes you have optimized the existing resource allocations, but then seeks to squeeze more work from that fixed capacity by optimizing workflows, extending work-times, and making compromises.
      Do check out my video on crashing the timeline: th-cam.com/video/HpiaAOn-MsE/w-d-xo.html

    2. The following project network and associated costs are given (T in days, C in $1,000s)

    a) Verify that the normal completion time is 22 days and that the direct cost is $3,050
    b) What is the least costly way to reduce the project completion time to 21 days? What is the project cost?
    c) What is the least costly way to reduce the completion time to 20 days? What is the project cost?
    d) Now, what is the earliest the project can be completed and what is the least costly way
    of doing this? What is the project cost

      I do not, as a matter of principle, provide direct help to course assessments and similar. This would not be a good way for you to learn. If you have problems understanding course material, the right person to ask is your course tutor, teacher, or lecturer. Good luck with your course.
      And by the way, a simple tip if you want to be effective in the world of work, after completing your course... Telling someone what you need is not a polite way of asking for something. Please take this as I intend it: helpful feedback.

    So, do we have to revise the entire baseline for resource leveling ??,or
    it will be needed.. is it while we create the baseline

    • @Onlinepmcourses
      @Onlinepmcourses  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Whether you re-baseline is a choice based on the scale and significance of the change. Take a look at my video: What is a Project Baseline? And Project Baselining? th-cam.com/video/eFWO6N-uMUA/w-d-xo.html
      So, you can level resources to build a revised plan, but still maintain an earlier baseline or, if you choose, re-baseline to accommodate the changes in resourcing.
