My first step would have been to check the color of the spark plugs.
So right. I did change them 10,000 kms ago 6000 miles. I think I mentioned that. If I didn't , thanks for the reminder.

The only thing i did not like about this video is that it was a Kia other then that well done Bruce, nice change of pace and information anyone can use in a similar situation. Other factor is they do not make engines with room for big hands anymore, remember back when there were large voids in the engine bay?

@31:58 I thought we were going to see one of those blooper videos . good job there. I had a 2001 maxima, that stalled while running after it warmed up at a stop sign and wouldn't stay running. (was son's car at college, I came to check it out and disconnected TPS and then it idled at 1800 rpm but stayed running, it was good enough to drive 1/2 mile to get him home. later on I did a throttle body cleaning and cleaned out air box and found air filter didn't look good, shook it out and put everything back together. it seems ok. but later on installed a new Air filter. then drove it 2 hours back to my home. in the mean time he had decided to buy used car as the maxima was 23 years old with nearly quarter of a million miles on it @243k miles. when I got it back home to go thru it, I cleaned it out inside and threw on some new break pads, rear struts (already known to need replacement) , and Neutral safety switch ( already known to of been going out) . now it seems ok so I am selling it. it has a transmission problem but it still moves for gears 1-3 and R, no Overdrive (4th) , transmission has been going out for 4+ years and its gotten 42k miles since it started having problems.

I was thinking vapor from the PCV valve inlet which is the only unfiltered air upstream from the throttle body.

Bruce, I have a 2010 Kia soul and since yesterday while I’m driving it feels like my car stops accelerating for a few seconds. There is no dash lights on, it ran perfect up until yesterday, any suggestions?
There may be a dial for dash lights. It may be turned down??? That is about as much as I can do for you. Best of luck.

13 years old and original motor. That's unusual. Must be changing oil every 5000 km or less. One video that I watched started 'I have a kia in the shop and it's not for a motor replacement '
The engines are fine on this model.
