    While i'm not a fan of the style (i would say they let you shot them this way because you are a foreigner), some of the photos do bring smiles to my face :-)

    did you just flash all those strangers? I can't believe no one said anything to you

    Silbersalz all the way.

    Silbersalz35 is my absolute favorite. It has the warm film colors. Brings atmosphere! Good that you compared both in the same light situation, thank you!!! The difference comes out quite clear to me. Forget cinestill, the silbersalz35 is winner.

    Robin! I remember asking a few months ago if you could do some night street photography with the x-pan, and you didn't seem to think it was doable.
    I'm really happy to see you gave it a shot!

    • @therealsirrobin
      @therealsirrobin  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha, yeah I remember. It's only possible due to the usage of flash. Without that it would be really hard to get any decent shots.

    Can’t say I like the motion blur but it’s amazing how close you get to people! If only you could get faster lenses for the x-pan!

    that 500T looks a little nicer IMO. I was pleasantly surprised. Thanks for the comparison Sir.

    Really interesting photos. The way you capture some of these moments almost resemble double exposures. Fascinating!

    Silbersalz35 500T is a winner for me, it's truely more cinematic. Probably because cinestill is developed with c41 which isn't the norm for motion picture film. I'm going to have to finally just order myslef a few rolls of Silbersalz35 500T ASAP!

    The CineStill seems a bit colder from the colors, the Silbersalz has nicer skin colors to my eyes 👀. Great video !

      Thank you! Yeah, the Silbersalz35 looks overall much nicer I think. 👌

    Love your videos! I think Cinestill works better with the city lights but the Vision 3 is better with the subjects, the skin colors specially.

      Thank you Gonzalo! Personally, I prefer the vision 3 overall.

    The Vision 3 500T has a more retro look for me which I do like a lot! Still, CineStill looks great too!

    Shutter drag on a nighttime street with film. Thats some talent of all sorts. how did you focus and meter for this with taking the flash into account? I'm really intrigued. I'll have to try taking some photos in this style.

    How did you know what settings to use for your flash?

  • @pavlovcikjan
    @pavlovcikjan 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Oh wow, well done!! I see a bunch of people don't like the photos or the way they have been captured but I think quite oposite - they are amazing! Very raw, impulsive, real. It may not be the most respectful way of shooting strangers, but I think there is more harm being done in the world than someone taking these photos. Big like.
    question, did you shoot through the view finder or from the hip?

    How do you meter and expose these films? Did you do box speed? Do you use to over or under expose? Any tips on these films? Got my first roll of cinestill and I'm really trying to not mess up exposure in it. Bad expose cinestill is always super grainy and not very cool

    I would be interested to know what filters you recommend for colour temperature correction for the 500T. I ask because the movie film does not look as blue as the old tungsten E6 films did (for which the 85 series was the way to go. The movie industry uses CTO (and CTB) filters, 1/2 CTO for example. I guess it all depends on the mired shift one is looking to correct. I wonder what temp the 500T is working to.

    • @therealsirrobin

      I can't recommend any filters because I never use them.

    I don’t really get the point of this type of photography. Most of the faces captured are people without expression and not really interesting. I mean, it’s a cool affect that looks good with the lights in the background, but a whole roll of the same got boring.
