just had a pretty serious threat issued at my work torwards a co-worker today luckily nothing happened but it did make me realize how important it is to train everyday deliberately with purpose . Travis Haley your work is forreal a god send to the good guys, thank you!
This is very helpful. I don't reload and have a limited budget for ammo so drills like this are excellent for practicing key shooting elements without burning through a lot of rounds every session. Awesome!
Trav can you walk us through the modifications you've made to your Glock and the real world rationale behind them? Do you modify a range gun differently than a carry gun? Thanks for all you've done.
The one he has there is a Lone Wolf frame and I'm sure he has his skimmer trigger in it. I'm sure he'll say he doesn't modify his carry gun very much if at all.
I know someone else already asked but I am curious as well as to what magwell you have on your glock and the extensions on the magazines? I'm not sure if that's what their called.
I suggested something like this to another POST instructor to do with officers. He said the ifficer might get use to training like this and only shoot once in a gun fight then reoad,!! What do you think about his comment?
Hey Travis. I am in a wheelchair. And a bit of a gut. What in you opinion is the best holster and holster placement for someone who I in a seated position most of the time?
Married With Guns was just going to say the same thing. Very popular with those that spend a lot of time driving. Also, most rigs will allow for 2 mags on opposing side.
Do you have tips for eliminating the bad parts of these kinds of drills from your muscle memory? doing this so repeatedly can have you doing stupid shit when you should be firing. What's your method of transition back to normal while retaining what you've learned?
Do you have any recommendations or advice for lefties? Especially with speed reloads. Curious on manipulations and what I could incorporate into becoming faster if I use this drill 1-tac reload-1 with the slide locking back. I've been using the slide stroke/rack technique. Thanks.
Garrison Henry I'm a lefty as well, I have found that using my index finger on my left hand to drop the slide does work, but you do have to break the grip a little. Extended slide release may be necessary on a glock to make this easier. On a 1911 though, if you place your trigger finger on the slide release as you insert the new mag, the force you exert from inserting the new mag will allow you to drop the slide with little effort from your trigger finger. Worth a try!
notBruceWayne I have tried manipulating it a few times by doing that on my 19, but with the factory stop/release I'm not consistent with it (grip break, not enough pressure on the stop, finger slips, etc.) and just go back to power stroking it.. I have looked into the extended ones for quite a while now but still having a hard time with dropping $20 for an extra little "bump" on the release lol but have seen a video demonstrating it and it does help from what I could tell. I think I just convinced myself to buy one haha now.. Thanks for the advice!
koviati81 That is going to vary from person to person and how new someone is to the movements. It's all about building CORRECT muscle memory. If you feel like you can speed up without compromising form, then you should.

It should be simultaneous, but I always end up dropping the mag first. As soon as the mag drops out of the gun, my support hand should be on the fresh one already.
Some claims that grabbing the fresh mag first give you a clear point of reference before inserting it... and most of the time forbid you to fumble and shave some milliseconds...
Competitors train to go for the new mag first and shove it in the gun. The idea is that the mag release should be subconscious. Also turn the gun enough that you can see into the edge of the magwell when you insert the new mag.
Based on your recommendation I bought a G-code mag pouch, and although you may have been promoting them I am not impressed. Blackhawk makes a much better mag pouch. Nothing personal.
The sounds of the Battle of Fallujah in the background are what help him concentrate
@Sheepdog131, shit.. I was thinking the same thing...found myself scanning.
Haha!!! Good one
These videos are very helpful! Please keep posting the quick tips! Thank you!
One of the best instructions I've seen

I like you threw that fast one at the end. You knew we all wanted to see that! Smart, useful video, as always.
As usual, Travis provides the best in training advice and techniques
Went out and spent an hour this morning working through this drill for both my VP9 and AR-15 using the D3CRX rig. Very useful and fun!
This is very helpful. I don't reload and have a limited budget for ammo so drills like this are excellent for practicing key shooting elements without burning through a lot of rounds every session. Awesome!
This is my favorite drill. For both pistol and rifle. Encompasses a variety of skills. Thanks Travis.
This is SO great! Thanks!!! I already did deliberate practice but the counting adds so much awesome that I wish I'D thought of it. Semper Fi
Thank you for your knowledge, experience and service.
The end had me laughing. That was so damn fast.
Unicorn Hunter saw it on a facebook group, where a guy said "lets see this chump try that in a combat scenario"--- now THAT shit was funny
@@Vv18_._ and Haley was FORECON sooo
I would think he knows a thing or two about combat environments
Travis.... is the man.
I'm looking forward to adding this exercise. Thanks for a great drill and for making it look attainable with practice!
An excellent tip! I think people get to caught up in accumulating the fabled 10,000 reps and forget you you can get really good with a lot less.
Tried this today and it was great! Thanks Travis!
Fantastic can't wait to make it out to your class this year
Thanks Travis that was a lot of help.
Excellent learning point. Thank you!
Travis is the goat ...
Thanks for your time and effort.
When I grow up I want to be just like Travis. To cool!
I like this method. I'll try it out this weekend.
Travis, I aspire to get on your level one day!
this is a great regiment for me to add to my practicing. thanks!!!!!
By the numbers! Great stuff!
just remember numbers with rhythm not numbers by steps.
HaleyStrategic excellent key point. Thanks for the reply :)
Has anyone ever confirmed if Travis is actually human?
He's a Terminator of course......
Yeah, he is for sure a terminator! lol
Yes, he is very much human man, but a highly skilled operator, he too gets paper cuts.
I know right....he's too perfect , muscular and beautiful :)
We don't know yet. It's still under investigation
Awesome videos!! You're a machine man

oooh rahh devildog trained like a true warrior !!! Dark Horse!!!!!
This also applies to life, man.
boom!
Do you ever have any problems with your nipples cutting holes in your shirts?
This is a good technique--thank you for the video!
You are a fucking beast when it comes
to this gun shit.
Excellent
Tied doing a two second reload. Ended up doping the slide on an empty chamber before I had loaded the mag; practice, practice, practice.
that last reload though
Travis can you make a video on malfunctions? It could be really helpful. Thanks
Thank you.
Great advice. Thx
The Yoda of gunfighting awesome
That's the coolest range I've ever seen, what's its name?
Travis any chance you can give a opinion list of what seem to be the least troublesome pistols used in classes?
I would like to know that too!
Terrific
I’ve seen him do atleast with handgun bullets forward and bullets face back . Which is the prefers method and why
Great video. Subbed
In this video he uses the slid release for his reload. In another video he is a proponent of racking the slide.
I'm curious as to what knife you're carrying in this video and if it is your EDC. What other flavors do you like?
I know someone else already asked but I am curious as well as to what magwell you have on your glock and the extensions on the magazines? I'm not sure if that's what their called.

What are your thoughts on moving during reloads?
I have a question about a particular weapon system what is the best way to contact?
Hey Travis. I am in a wheelchair. And a bit of a gut. What in you opinion is the best holster and holster placement for someone who I in a seated position most of the time?
Or anyone who has any suggestions
E Wheeled shoulder holster. It keeps the weapon accessible no matter your position or build.
Married With Guns was just going to say the same thing. Very popular with those that spend a lot of time driving. Also, most rigs will allow for 2 mags on opposing side.
Sneaky bags has a sling bag that might work for you
What type of magazine carriers is he using?

bro you just muzzle swept the cameraman with a live gun like 70 times
alexrex20 Tripod dude.
What kind of magwell is he using?
I see no more "over the top, power stroke" technique from Travis anymore. Slide release is just a lot quicker.
3 dislikes for....Starting from 5 instead of 3? Counting at all? Yes Travis Haley is the bad ass you will probably never be, don't hate, appreciate.
Using Fed Syntech? Any problems with it?

what yardage do you recommend for this drill?
Any chance you could do one of these for the HK91 /g3 platform?
After how much repeating or when (which point) should decrease the time (for example 4 to 3 second)?
koviati81 That is going to vary from person to person and how new someone is to the movements. It's all about building CORRECT muscle memory. If you feel like you can speed up without compromising form, then you should.

nice.
Niiicceee!!!!!!!
What mag carriers is he doing with what mounting hardware?
I'm assuming HSP D3 but how are they mounted?
duh duh duh dats fast man
it's easier if you have a slide release on the right side for lefties
When I drop the mag, I'm already in motion to grab the next one.
Untangled Mind thats good but not really the idea behind this drill
Drop the mag first or grab the fresh mag first? What's you preference? ( Obviously Travis drop the mag first... but you all ? )
It should be simultaneous, but I always end up dropping the mag first. As soon as the mag drops out of the gun, my support hand should be on the fresh one already.
Some claims that grabbing the fresh mag first give you a clear point of reference before inserting it... and most of the time forbid you to fumble and shave some milliseconds...
pipois I find that point to be rather moot. Either way seems fine, as long as the mag gets in the gun quickly.
Yeah i agree. Thank you for your answers.

👍👍
The End..... HOLY CHIT!!!!! (FAST!!!)
Ok, I'll be the one to ask it, guys......did he not hit on the reload at the end of the video???
Why don't you do the same "identify" step that you teach on the AR-15? Just curious.
Hey! You didn't count on the last one! 🤔
pecs looks phenomenal in that shirt.
This video should be called "How to jam your gun"
Chuck Norris Looks under his bed for Travis Haley!
You forgot to count down the 1 second drill.
What kind of shirt is he wearing?
The BCM Combat Training Shirt
Why aren't you shooting a P320 like the Army?
Maur Ice Lmao you would
Because he was a Marine.
at first i thought that was the trump wall.
LMAO
Glad someone got the joke
watching 2:50-2:52 on repeat...
said it once i'll say it again packs enough info than 15min video and you're exercising a little as well by squatting down to always pick up the mags
It's kind of funny how Travis kind of sings when he counts like Do Re Mi Fa So la. lol Must be a body mechanics type thing.
🇹🇷
The phrase "wait until you hear his mag drop to return fire" will not work against Travis Haley.
Brent 24 who says that?
Popcorn
Based on your recommendation I bought a G-code mag pouch, and although you may have been promoting them I am not impressed. Blackhawk makes a much better mag pouch. Nothing personal.
