- Sid, from T1G, takes us through the definitions of Speed and Tactical Reloads. Speed: you’re out of ammo; gas that puppy up as quick as possible. Tactical: There’s a lull in the fight; gas that puppy up, but save the half full magazine for later use. Even if you only shot a few rounds, do you really want to go into the next room with a half-full gun? No. So, take a second, and put in a full mag.
One thing I want to highlight, is where Sid says to conduct your reload; up, right in front of your face. It’s a “pet peeve” of mine, when shooters reload down in front of their waist. With their head down, they lose total situational awareness to their surroundings. That would seem fine in training. However, we react under stress how we have been taught; so, train as you fight. If you think you will be able to take your eyes off the bad guy to your front with the AK while you watch your reload at waist level, you are sadly mistaken. You’ll be stuck staring at him, while your body messes up a simple reload, because you have never practiced doing it correctly. Rather, again, train as you will fight under stress. Keep your head up trained on the target. Conduct that reload right in front of your face, as Sid showed in the video. You’ll be able to look through the front sight of the gun and keep constant awareness of the enemy. Did he hide behind the car to the left or behind the tree to the right? You wouldn’t know if you had been staring at your crotch, during the reload. However, with the gun up, you know where he went and have your weapon ready for when the monkey sticks his head back out. Plus, if you have any problems with your weapon, it’s already up where you can see it. It works. It’s what the pros do; and it’s why we teach it.
So the next time you’re on the range and that pistol runs dry, don’t just holster up and go “admin.” Rather, treat every pause as a chance to conduct a Speed or Tactical Reload. Practice makes perfect. Proper Practice builds Proper Muscle Memory. Muscle memory builds speed, and speed wins gunfights.

Former Marine Embassy Guard here, that version of the speed reload is what the department of State and Fbi instructors taught us. Solid method. Fast and proficient. Good to see it here
Thanks for watching, TR
Current Embassy Guard here, sitting in Africa at the moment. They STILL teach this method on the M9 and the Glock. Still works extremely well and serves it's purpose.
What a funny coincidence seeing these comments here. I'm MSG at my first post.
Im making first person animations for a game :|
But you lose your mags in combat.
The fastest way to reload is just to press "R" it's very simple
MehoTV u think is CSGP XDXDXD
@@eldenkoh7340 yup😂
@J U S T I C E Easiest way
You clearly havent been trained
Or square
I got yelled at the other day for this technique of reloading. Well, more the position you hold the weapon in your work space and not maintaining the barrel pointed at low ready. I yelled back, "just because you dont like it, doesnt make it wrong"
Amen.
RIGHT on...
This is literally the work space we learn in the dutch military. Whoever yelled at you is delusional.
Would you rather have an unintentional discharge into the air or ricocheted off the floor?
Lol 😂
Got yelled out for this method at several classes as well...LoL
This man has the fast hands perk 24/7
Nicely done. You took the time to explain it thoroughly and went through your examples slowly. Then you showed us what it would look like in real time. Thumbs up from another instructor.
I love your unbiased approach to multiple techniques, an absolute lack of apparent tactical snobbery is always appreciated.
True professionals (you guys!) can break things down to make them simple, easy to understand, and easy to learn. As an educator, I appreciate your ability to do so. Keep it up!
Thank you sid for showing us how both loadings are done. Really helped a lot.
Loving every minute of the channel.
True
Great video, I will be watching it several times to let everything sink into my brain as I train..... Thank You
BIG RON.....
I'm glad you showed us this, i know it seems like entry level info, but i like speed reloading and hate having to drop my mags, plus situations on the go where a dropped mag is a lost mag. Thanks.
Simple instructions and not overly complicated. Thanks for sharing!
surprised this channel has so little subscribers with the high quality and informative videos.
This is so far the only video I’ve found that has instructed how to do a mag change without dropping the old mag
This guy is a good teacher. I learned something today.
Great summary. Just had a class today with GORUCK, and I struggled with this. Good to have you as an additional instruction.
Good job! Best I've seen on these two topics. Thanks!
Great information. Your detailed explanation really drove it home to me. Thank You
Thank you, straight to the point. Couldn’t have found a better video.
Just found this channel and I absolutely love it! Just subscribed keep up the good work. I really appreciate these videos. :)
The Kentucky Patriot thanks for taking the time to comment. We try to put up a new video every week. Help us grow by passing them on to your friends. Strength and honor TR.
Clear and concise instructions!
Great video!!!
Smooth operating dude!
Good to know someone out there actually teaches this correctly.
Beautiful technique
Thank you for this very informative video! Learning a lot! 💯
Glad it was helpful!
huh. Good stuff. Always want to learn more

Super informative video!
This channel is beast🇺🇸
Wow! thanks for the simultaneous same hand magazine reload
Fantastic, very informative.
Great video.
Thank you.
EXCELLENT FORM SID
Especially during your live reload when you side step back behind your LCC
Great work keep it up
Thanks, will do!
👍👍 two thumbs up! excellent content!
Great Video
Great refresher.. thanks
awesome. thanks. will be watching more if your channel
Very professional video. Congrats man!
Glad you enjoyed it!
From now on when people are to close I'm telling them to get out of my work place.

Thanks for this video, it was very informative.
Thanks for watching, TR
Damn these vids are high quality.
Instead of playing cod he be memorizing the fast reload strategy in cod
Slide lock with the off hand makes sure the mag is seated so you don't accidentally miss stripping the top round by panicking and hitting it too early. Also running the slide should be done by pushing the gun away, not pulling the offhand towards you. Just my (and my Israeli instructors) two cents.
Both solid techniques; just not the ones we teach. That doesn't make them wrong. We actually teach the "Push the Pistol" technique of racking the slide for all people with less hand strength (was gonna say kids or girls, but that is politically correct). Instead of pulling with their hand, they can push with their whole arm. Thanks for commenting.
John sent me here from his channel. I subbed immediately. Good stuff. Yes I use Glock's extended slide release/ lock on my G 19 and G 17 to send the slide home. It is just second nature to me.
And yes, I can do the slingshot function just fine if I want. But I much prefer using my extra large size hand's thumb to release the slide. It's so seamless and smooth. It gets me back on target faster in my opinion.
Bringing the gun back in closer to the workspace is something I need to do more. I tend to forget to do that, and so I need to practice that. Thank you so much for this video.
And yes I am on the Bell Google Plus alert system for any of your new videos and I always up vote.
u taught us very nicely ...... no doubt sir
Very useful techniques to practice here. thanks.
Thanks for watching, TR
very cool and educational
Thank you, this video answered my questions. 😊👍🏼

great job
Good video, the different angles are nice. Killer accent too dude
Good stuff, thanks!!!
Glad you liked it!
Omg you are a life saver !!!
I like the way you introduced this method to a lot of beginners like myself, keep it short and simple 😉
Glad you liked it! Thanks for watching, TR
Very satisfying and cool to watch. The recent Call of Duty games use these cool mag retention techniques in their reload animations. Those games have made me appreciate reload techniques so much, wish I could own guns like that in my country.
This is how they reload in ready or not especially the tactical one
Very good, Thank you very much
As stated in the video;
1. 1:00 What would be the "issues identified" in particular with the gun (what key parts would I need to know on these issues?) [Note: I assume this could be from another video.]
2. 1:41 Which part would be intervened with the malfunction excluding the clip and round?
3. Considering the difference between Cover and Concealment, what would be the most common, wrong move during combat and the enemy has their gun loaded, for those who do not have any experience with it?
4. Movies, we've seen them all. Which reload do you think is very repetitive?
Otherwise, this was a really good video! A clean explanation, defined actions and understanding the reason behind it. This does not only tell me what to do right, but to acknowledge how much a simple thing could be so uniquely performed.
Well done sir
Thanks! 🤘🏽
Can’t believe this was replicated perfectly in Modern Warfare 2019
Well executed, my man. 🍻😈👍
Thank you so much sir..
I'm impressed with this guy xD
Excelente técnica
Just what my instructor was showing us today.
Good job my instructor in Jordan...taught me glock19 pistol and no more problem with it......its muasya m4 guy in Jordan...
Most civilian reloads are going to be Tac reloads, so this is good info. I’ve been familiar with both for a long time, but I couldn’t figure out the 2 mags in one hand situation. This video solves that problem. Thanks!
Right on
Good tips.
Thanks for watching, TR
I just subbed. Well done!
Thanks for watching, TR
Thnx a lot 🙏
Thanks for watching, TR
You rock!
I have had a glock 23 for more than 12 years and always when I recharged by putting the magazine and hitting it on the base the slide closed and I could continue shooting. Now isn't uploading the ammunition to the chamber. What is the reason for this malfunction?
I was taught different things. One was to tie strings to your magazines so you don't lose them. Another was to always tac load.
Thank you I wasn’t sure how to tac reload
Thank you for posting. I may have been a bubble but haven't heard the term "work space". Perfect term for it. Kudo's if you came up with that but nevertheless, thanks.
Wish we could claim it, but it is a common CQB training term. Thanks for watching. TR.
Clear and to the point, thanks! (helped out this grandma with short fingers).
Thanks for watching, TR
The only problem with pressing the slide lock release with shooting hand is that it is possible to do it before the full magazin is seated in the gun. Beeing unaware of empty chamber sucks. Some pistols detect rounds in the inserted mag and automatically release the slide lock. I think that is an excellent innovation.
Tactical reload. What we found was under stress, shooters will look for more rounds in their mag pouches, not their back pocket etc. Since a tactical reload is not performed while the shooting is still occurring, take the time to bump up the full mag from the secondary pouch to the primary mag pouch and put the part full mag in the secondary pouch. When you watch shooters under a bit of stress reload, their hand will normally go to the primary mag pouch. So conditioned are they to do so, we would see them do this even if they were suppose to be reloading their Taser for which the reloads are on the support side of the body on the Taser holster rig.
Agreed
Perfect Excellence .
I learned this technique on the AR and now I know how to do it on a pistol! Huzzah for TH-cam!
Thank you!!!
Thanks for watching, TR
Never had a gun, won't own one yet, still interesting to watch, that's the magic of guns
Damn that’s quick. Nice fucking work
Thanks man this video really helped. I fail the 1st time due to not understanding the tactics reload. But after watching your video I pass. Thanks again!
Slide release is the most efficient method to use to chamber a round after a slide lock reload. About .5> seconds if using sling shot or traditional rack compared to the slide release.
this explains video games, i might have to take notes
I'm about 99% on board. As far as "bringing gun into your work space" I only slightly retract arms keeping gun pointed down range bringing mag to gun, also keeping my eyes down range & reloading by feel so I don't have to re-aquire targets.
Not putting the old mag back into the mag pouch is also easier - less likely to fumble and such if you just stick it in your waistband or such.
I like it!
Not here for shooting lessons but for the technique so I can get at the very least a good showcase of how a fast reload has to look in an animation
I love the M&P pistols for speed reloads because if you push the magazine in hard enough, the slide will catch that first round. Not a huge fan of striker fire triggers personally but firearms are subjective, everyone varies a bit in what they find comfortable on a gun.
Ditto that my friend! 100%
Jonathan Anatrella Fair enough. 👍
The popular mechanics applied to the Smith guns actually holds true to most semiauto striker fired guns on the market. I can pull it off with both my Glock 17 and 19, it's much harder to do with glocks, but enough experimenting will show that strong-arming the mag into place can pull off the same result. Fun fact: it's even more common when weight is added to the end of the barrel, causing a shift in balance that results in altered points of contact where the barrel sits within the slide and frame (such as when you put a suppressor on your barrel).
