- Aspirin: Should diabetics take a daily baby aspirin to prevent heart attacks? Does it cause bleeding or lower the risk of heart attacks? A lot of diabetics are on aspirin to prevent heart attacks. Yet, some of them end up with stomach bleeding which can be deadly. Does aspirin really help saves lives or does it cost lives? Who is Dr. Ergin? Dr. Ahmet Ergin is an endocrinologist with a particular interest and passion for diabetes care. Dr. Ergin earned his medical degree with honors at Marmara University School of Medicine in Istanbul, Turkey. Then, he completed his internal medicine residency and endocrinology fellowship at Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. He is a board-certified physician in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism. He is also a certified diabetes education specialist.

Thank you Dr. for the statistical information on death due heart attack and stroke for diabetics over 65yrs. I remember reading a book on diabetes in 2016
and it said when you are over 65 tight control on BG doesn't help much according to ADA guidelines.
I am 71yrs. watch you videos over and over as a matter of interest. We never had this wealth of information in 2005 when I was diagnosed as diabetic.
Finally my daughter managed to send your book from UK four months after purchasing it to BOTSWANA.

I love watching ur channel. I’ve learned so much from u. I’ve been taking 325 Aspirin for years now. I’m only 58 and have HTN and type 2 diabetes but my family history is strong for heart dse. My dad died at 39 of massive MI and both my brothers had MI’s in early 40’s. Thanks for all u do.

My mum is a diabetic and hypertensive as well. She is on metformin and amlodipine and some supplements. Her new doctor has suggested aspirin 750g for her.
Recently her bp was a bit high as well as her blood sugar too.

Is dibeaties getting better or worse if the numbers are stabilizing at an average of 350 and does that mean anything on the cholesterol levels and do I need to be checking my blood pressure... I do believe my blood pressure is starting to get high after eating .... I don't like pills however I have felt like my heart sometimes hurts ... maybe I should start taking low dose aspirin hmmm I don't like the dibeaties thing

I was on Aspirin for 19 years 75ml, then I developed a torn stomach lining my stomach became full with blood i was very ill, if I was asleep I would have cooked on my vomit of blood.

Shes 75 an get stroke i start gibi g her an asparin a day as recommended

My worries about her now is she experiencing dizziness most of the days. She did full physical exams and kidney and liver test and everything was fine.. please what do you think was the problem? She is on amlodipine 10mg and metformin 100 mg .

Thanks doc, for sharing this amazing video about aspirin. I'm 71yo (71 years young). I'm still young at heart. Anyway, I'm pre-diabetic, have high blood pressure and moderate cholesterol, and am taking medications indefinitely for decades. My own doctor still wants me to continue taking baby aspirin. But I'm currently taking 325 mg of aspirin instead (according to how I feel about it). I'll have to admit that. I often take it along with a Vivarin caffeine tablet so that I feel better. Surprisingly, I'm well tolerating it. I experience no unwanted side effects such as heart attack or stroke so far. But I have no history of it.👍✌️🙏🦉.
