This was the most postponed project that I ever made.
It was supposed to be a Halloween 2022 special... but it didn't even make it to Halloween 2023 :/
But better late than never! Here she is - finally finished!
A cute Halloween witch for my mom's collection.
I enjoyed making this project more than I thought I would, so I hope that you will enjoy it too.

I love how we can always guess what dolls are meant for her mom 🔮 (all the creations are amazing and beautiful, the ones for her mother are always on the "cuter" side, and thats lovely)
Recently she stole my Spider Lady! It was supposed to be just for Halloween and now she don't want to give it back XD
She loves all my dolls, but yeah - when it's cute it's most probably meant to be a gift for her ^_^
The head shrinking is so satisfying. It really makes a huge difference in the look of the final piece. It makes the dolls look more professional and real rather than a cartoon-like toy. Love this channel!
I totally agree ^_^ I love head shrinking! Whoever kept their doll in acetone for too long for the first time was a genius without even knowing it! :D

For the trouble you have with dark base dolls, it may be worth experimenting with using powdered makeup as blushing. I've seen etelan use makeup for some blushing on her dolls, and it may be easier to adapt since some makeup is designed to look good with a dark base
It may be worth checking. But I am afraid that it may have something to do with the sealant too. Like, pastels work quite good until you seal them. And you have to seal your progress. That's a must.
The sealent it's going to make the colors darker so it is better if you want to use pastels to apply some white before the bright colors. It even happens with make up too @@CatmeleonStudio
I know you don’t like clothes, but I really enjoy watching you sculpt them. Your attention to detail is amazing! I was so excited to get the notification that you had a new video coming, that it made my day. It doesn’t matter what the theme is…watching you create is why we are all here. Another amazing doll!

love the final doll! she's got a cute but mischievous air about her. i will say, as an artist, i understand fatigue and frustration with your own art, and to that i say: an artist is always their own harshest critic, especially since you spend so much more time around your creation than the people who watch your videos. a miserable two months for you is still a magical half hour for all of us!
Thank you so much for this comment! ^_^ I know that sometimes "good enough" is just.. well... good enough :) I just really needed to be 100% happy with this one after my Beast Tamer. My motivation is fragile if I am not satisfied with my end results :P
She's adorable and well worth the wait. I love how her hair conveys movement in the pose soo effortlessly. When it comes to dark skins, focus more on building the highlight with light yellows and peachy tones depending on the undertone (whether warm or cool) instead of just white, as it may come off as ashy or grey. Hope this helps❤

I cannot believe that you had the patience to sculpt all of those tiny ruffles and laces! She looks incredible yet so effortless. The colors are perfect and the stand compliments them well!
I like seeing you branch out by making clothing for the dolls; but I do miss the nude ones. I’ve seen many doll artists create clothing for their dolls, and sometimes they look a bit more “crafty” than art. The sculpted clothing you’ve done makes them more officially an Art piece.

Honestly, for someone who doesn't like making clothes, you are really good at making them. These ruffles look super realistic!

I think she turned out great! You did a great job. The eyes are perfect, eyes get smaller when we smile. You did the right thing by changing them, for sure. I love the outfit you sculped as well. It suits her perfectly. I think your mom will love her, you made her and that's enough to make her special.
Happy that you think that! :) I am also very happy that I remade the eyes. As you said - the eyes are getting smaller when we smile, and the first ones, if wide open, would be as big as the original MH eyes. My style includes smaller eyes. I believe that this was my biggest issue with them :)

I can definitely relate to you not feeling completely happy with your last doll; I've felt that way many times about my own art. It may not serve as much comfort, but personally I always think your dolls look amazing and perfect. I think sometimes artists forget that other people don't see imperfections the same way, if at all.

I understand that most people who like my work would like the previous eyes and wouldn't see nothing wrong with them... But I just can't stand being dissatisfied with my own work :P It would be a repeat of my Beast Tamer doll and I can't afford another 2-3 weeks of burn out procrastination XD
Yeah, I totally get it. I often end up redoing things other people might not notice in my art, because even if they can't see it, I still can. It's all party of the process and I totally respect it. And I think the smaller eyes on your doll looked amazing, and were definitely worth the extra work. :)

Totally agree with you while all the eyes you did draw looked great and had great detail and and weren't bad or anything close to it they just didn't fit. I think the eyes you ended up using at the end literally worked perfectly and gave that mischievous look that I think you were going for.
I love watching you take what some call, "cute dolls", and turning them into Masterpieces! the white "bleaches" are layers of mister clear still on the doll :) mister clear is resin spray, it becomes opaque with acetone, if you don't remove it properly it can leave traces on darker skins. She is soooo cute, as always
I am sure that I cleaned her very thoroughly (with acetone, alkohol, soap and water...etc). And to be honest some small stains were already visible after the head shrinking (but I managed to clean the of), so I think it has more to do with acetone than MSC... But I am not an expert and I can be wrong and you can be right :) The most important thing is that I managed to fix it somehow :D
Watching your videos and listening to your calm voice and the great commentary are a balm for my soul. Every one of your dolls/statuettes are lovely and inspirational. I also love hearing that you have the same struggles as a lot of us do, seeing the mistakes and how you fix them. I learn so much from you, and your positive outlook and encouraging words are appreciated probably far more than you realise. Any holiday can be Halloween if you really want it! Thanksgiving? Nope, Novemberween. Christmas? DECEMBERWEEN. New Years? Make it SPOOKY NEW YEARS. And I feel you on the brown/black vinyl thing, sometimes the prettiest art projects are the most of a pain in the butt to work with. Art is suffering.
Exactly :) I believe that is why dark skinned characters are pretty much a small group of doll customs... because the proces is more problematic and require more layers. But hey! It is worth the work! ^_^

Your videos are my favorite to watch! I've been watching your for over a year now, and the progress you've made is so visible. I applaud how much effort you put into each doll, and how you're always experimenting and trying new things, and you're willing to try something again and again until it works out. Your doll customizations are probably some of the most unique out there. Not many customizers go for a more realistic look like you do on your dolls. I also appreciate the authenticity of your videos. I think you really accomplished the goal of your channel being more of a journal of your progress than a money making project. Keep up the good work!

I absolutely love her. I do understand the not having motivation to finish things. I also got hit with this autumn melancholy lol. I’m glad you went and changed her eyes as an artist I agree if you don’t like something in your creation it’s best you don’t try to keep it and say Ah it’ll work out. 9/10 it doesn’t work and you hate the creation which is why I tend to change my art creations even if it’s after the sketch stage.
