You have so many followers that enjoy your heartfelt sharing of living and being an artist in Scotland, but finding life balance is always more important. OMG, forgot what that close up sound of a cat purring was like (now have a small dog as my pet buddy). Enjoy the special moments with your little fur babies…Great idea to plan sketching workshops as you have all the experience needed to do that. I’m sure it will be very rewarding for you. Having Wolfie to help you with your business is wonderful. I’m sure he’ll do a great job!
I'm a blubbering mess watching this, and wish I were there to give you hugs in person as well as being able to draw and paint beside you. At the very least, sending virtual hugs and wishes for as much happiness as we can grab in this time we all have together.
Thank you 💕 I really didn't want the bad news to overpower the video...but honestly it has taken a huge tole on my mental health this winter. I feel like I need to protect myself and be less vulnerable online because I feel so fragile..I cry so much when I think about him and yet I'm trying to enjoy all the happy moments for as long as he is here. It feels so contradictory. Anyways, thank you so much for your support 💜
🌿🐑🌸🌞 Your videos always make me feel like I'm exploring Scotland with you! I'm sorry to hear about Vader, but it's heartwarming to see how much you love and care for him. Can't wait for those in-person workshops, that sounds amazing! Have a bonnie weekend! 🏴💜
Congratulations for 5K subscribers! I really enjoy your vlogs and seeing Scotland. Sorry about your kitty, I know from experience how much animals become an integrated part of the family. Thanks for sharing.
Sketching holidays and in person workshops🎉Yippeee!!!!🎊🎊🎊 I have always wanted to visit Scotland and will now look out for when you are doing this. So exciting! I am sorry for your hardship with Vader. Sending you much love.❤
No words but the best of thoughts. I am so glad you have this time to treasure. Thank you for sharing. I am really looking forward to all the exciting new things to come too.
Being too busy to film because you're busy living life is never a bad thing. I still think it's awesome that Wolfie is able to help you so you get to do more creative stuff. Again, prayers for you and Wolfie concerning Vader. I am glad he has humans that care so much about his happiness.
Little gifts they are these little furry companions, take care and enjoy that beautiful creature and thank you for sharing such a personal story. Also how amazing are your plans. 🙏🙏🐈⬛🐈⬛
Sweet Vader reminds me so much of the black kitty named Stanley who lives at the garden centre I used to work. Such a similar, sweet and docile personality and those same tired little yellow eyes 🖤 I’m so sorry for your pain… I pray Vader defies his prognosis and you get more time with him than you ever could have imagined. Take care ❤
Your babies are so sweet! They are so obviously loved. Our fur babies have a way of wrapping themselves around every crevice of our lives (and hearts). Thank you for sharing. Know that so many in your community (here and over at Sarah Burns Studio) are sending good thoughts and prayers as you soak up every moment with your sweet Vader.
Sarah, you are giving your fur baby the best life and allowing him to live. Just continue to embrace and lift that camera in focus. Looking back, it's the regret for me with time stamp.. Very glad you found a plan for your back and knees. It's important as time goes by. I get ultrasound treatments occasionally for scar tissue around the spine and found dry cupping from a RMT really helps to force circulation and new pathways to reduce pain. Monitoring disc space is important too. Looking forward to spring sitting here with 11c to -4c in one day and the showers being violent dumps the ground lets run off. Eventually the odd snows will cease. The idea of a having a group attend a painting retreat sounds incredible. Sarah- thanks for the "Plawsitive" heartfelt vlog. And we do 'care'!! ♥️ Love you. Enjoy every moment. Sorry you have to go thru this with Vader! Sending positive vibes your way. Thanks for All of your videos.😺🌟
Present, I watch for your videos whenever I log on. So admittedly I'm not an everyday viewer but I do watch frequently. I like the new Daniel Smith pallet you have chosen, Old enough that many of the colors didn't exist when I started watercolors in the 90s. I use some of them myself but I will have to use up some more old stock before I can justify purchasing more paints. My best to your friend Vader.
I figured its just winter and harder to do more and we'd see more of you in Spring. Wait- it is spring! the weather here is SW CO hasn't caught on yet. We got lots of snow in March but today (April 1) is supposed to be near 50!!!!!! That will get the snow melting and then it will be mud season. Spring is not my favorite because of the mud and the wind BUT summer is glorious! And then Fall.... I can identify with chronic back issues and pain and YES, Physical therapy helps so much! I'm so sorry about Vadar.... hugs. Both my cats are outdoor kitties and I actually cant get them to come inside for any length of time. :( We lost 2 dogs in 2021 and 2022 but still have a 3 legged min pin- chihuahua mix who is 16 and just keeps going! If I were a painter I would definitely join you on one of your outdoor classes (when i finally make it to Scotland)
Spring weather fluctuates here SO much - last year it snowed a few times in April. So we never really know what to expect! But I love when the blossoms and trees really start blooming...life just explodes everywhere and the forest is so FRESH. I'm sorry to hear about your pups...life is so bittersweet.
It’s so hard to see our pets decline. Heart disease is way more common in cats than a lot of folks realize (I’m a veterinarian specialized in diagnostics, I’ve seen plenty of cases). Focusing on quality of life for your pets is never wrong when they have a chronic progressive/irreversible disease and I’m sure what ever time Vader has left will be good ❤ It’s a tough time of year to deal with challenges like that - spring brings a lot of ups and downs it seems, much like the weather. I think it was Jonna Jinton who said in a past video that in spring she sometimes feels fragile, like a seedling sprouting - hopeful and growing, but also easy to be knocked down by a storm or other setback. It’s wonderful to hear about your progress and future plans, but don’t beat yourself up if you need some time to sit with the heavy emotions. Sending warm wishes from your old stomping grounds (Fort Collins, CO…where it’s currently snowing 😂 yay spring!!)
Thank you 💕 yes the vet said it’s surprisingly common, I had no idea! So here’s hoping the meds help and he can live many happy days rolling in the grass 🥰
Aww, I'm so sorry to hear about Vader. You're an amazing cat mom, ensuring he can still explore and find his outdoor joy while keeping an eye on him with the tracker. Sending you all my best wishes for many, many more happy and healthy months ahead. We lost our older cat in January, but she outlived her prognosis about three times over and we are still so grateful for that time. I wish we could bind our lives to our companions so they could share in more of our time. Congrats on 5k and enjoy the "little" 😅 challenge of PleinAirpril - can't wait to see all of your paintings! Floki has the best purr 💙
Vader has a wonderful family. He is a happy kitty despite it all. And on that know, I look froward to coming to Scotland for a workshop! Sorry Hubby, you might have to stay home for this one! (We are in the PNW in the US).
You ask yourself who cares? Well it looks to me like there are 5k of us 😁 Really sorry to hear Vadar's got health issues. Even though it's tough to see and deal, please rest assured that it's obvious you're giving him the best life he could ever wish for. Huge hug from a half stranger. 🙂
Wow, I too was blubbering - Our pets are family, they have our hearts and love just as much our family does; and sometimes even more. Having lost my be-loved Bella a year ago, and still crying when just looking at her photos, I can appreciate you not wanting the talk about what your baby is going through. You are brave so share. I wish nothing but a good quality of life for BOTH your furry babies for however long they are able to be with you! Looking forward to your April landscapes.
Take care of yourselves. So sorry about Vader's illness, it is heartbreaking, but he is a lucky boy to have such a loving and caring famiĺy. Big hugs 💕
Family absolutely comes first! I'm haply to see and hear that you are cherishing every moment with your sweet Vader. Love is never wasted. 💗 And that's amazing news that you're hosting workshops! I'm actually visiting Scotland mid May and I'm so excited to sketch and paint all the amazing places you've shown us. Thank you for inspiring us always and I'll def be coming to your workshop next year. :D
@Sarah in Scotland a little over one week between Skye, Inverness and Elgin (it is my mission to visit Bow Fiddle Rock) and then a few days in Edinburgh. I'm EXCITED. 🤩
Hello Sarah, it’s sad to hear about Vader’s health but he looks lovely and happy which is because the quality of his life is very good. I deleted a lot of my subscriptions but not yours because I enjoy them so much and although I’m sort of stuck in art limbo I love to see you working. You’re an amazing artist. Love to you all. 🙏❤️🐈⬛
I send you all support, compassion and understanding; and a virtual scratch behind the ears for Vader. 💝 Thank you for your courage and vulnerability! Our move to Edinburgh is approaching - will be there by mid-April. We're very excited and I am very intrigued by the thought of joining your group art adventures in the future. Cheers to you and yours Sarah!
Oh, this video broke my heart. 😭😭😭 I feel sorry for Vader, but I'm sure he has the best possible life being taken care of by you.❤ Glad you're taking care of yourself and getting better too. Scotland really is a very special place. Many consider the work of Scottish geologist and naturalist James Hutton at Siccar Point to be the beginning of Geology as a science that opened human eyes to Natural History. Have you ever been to Siccar Point? (Sorry I haven't seen all of your vlogs yet). I hope I didn't make too many mistakes writing in English haha. Greetings from Brazil.
Yes that's true, the godfather of geology! No I haven't been to Siccar. But some of the oldest visible rocks in the world can be found on the west coast and outer Hebrides. So special!
Bit weepy, sending love and best wishes to Vader. I had an all black cat named Rosie who was a 'talker' the way Vader is, watching Vader so reminds me of her. We know they have to leave us one day but we want them to have a life of love and joy before then. Floki's purring at the end is wonderful! Good to hear where you're at Sarah. TFS!!
Congratulations on 5k! 🙌🎉 Totally deserved and may many thousands more find your beautiful channels. Aww, my heart re Vader. He's such an adorable soul. 🥺💕 Sending you all hugs and love. It's so great that Wolfie's working with you. The time spent training him is a valuable investment and means you'll gain time doing all the things you love. Trust the process! So looking forward to more content from you both. ❤
Congrats on reaching 5k!! Please consider linking to your alt channels from the description of each video. My daughter told me she had trouble finding you on this channel--just knew you had another from references on your studio channel. ❤
Beautiful videography and so sorry to hear about Vader, he’s a beautiful cat and glad he’s a bit happier and comfortable now. Look forward to hearing more about your possible art courses and I would definitely be interested in attending 😊😍
So sorry about your kitty. It’s so hard when pets are suffering and we lose them. I lost my elderly dog last summer and we all still get teary over him. I heard someplace that the pain of grief is just proof of the love that is there, and that turns it bittersweet, and then it strangely helps me feel better. Hope he sticks around on our side as long as he can ❤
I'm sorry you are going through this. Vader will be happy and you will be sad, but you are doing what's right in the time you have together. Love you, Vader!
Much love kitty kitty I got heart issues too so I get it and living in the moment of everyday is the forever and its beautiful moments of sunshine and warm cuddles and crinkly bags, play feathers and ear scratches and belly rubs, oh what a life watching mommy paint we love watching her too. Thankyou for sharing her with us Vader. Outdoor April in Scotland sounds beautiful. I love your hikes but your cozy garden is lovely just as well.
Oh boy, that purring...delicious! Sending you all lots of love and enjoying each other's company. As for that balance you mentioned about how much to share and what to share, boy, that feels like a lifelong journey. For what it's worth, I love your more personal vlogs as that's what connects us to you. ❤
His purr is like powerful medicine! Vader has a 'silent purr' - you can only hear it when you press your ear against him. But it just instantly calms me down
It’s great to hear that the physical therapy is really helping the chronic back pain and more recent knee issues! I’m glad that will help make your goal of getting around Scotland’s coast easier (and,of course, daily life!!). Bravo for stepping back from making videos when you’ve got so many other things going on. And I’m sorry to hear about little Vader; he reminds me of my black kitty. It’s so devastating to see our cat friends going through illness and what amazingly resilient and determined animals they are.
My cat and I are inseparable. He's an indoor cat and I'm always at home due to health so it's a 24/7 relationship, It's rare we are not touching in some furry way. I feel that people can totally underestimate the relationship we have with out pet families. I was a blubbering mess with your news. Vader is lucky, happy and loved and my thoughts and well wishes are with you all.
Hugs for you and cuddles for Vader and Floki. It is so hard to see them sick. 5K!! so very deserved, the videos are so good and I love watching them. Take care!! Happy hiking and painting! ( I think that should be a thing, like happy holidays and happy new year :) )
Parasocial relationships are a curious thing, but they can be capable of bring out amazing kindness and connection with our fellow humans. All the love and vibes towards Vader, Floki, you and Wolfie during this spring and the months to come. Vader has wonderful humans and you have a wonderful fur kiddo!
Vader is living his best life and that's thanks to you two. I hope you can take some comfort in that. I'll tell you about me in case it may be helpful. I'm 72, have had cats my whole life, usually two at a time, sometimes three. I've absolutely loved them all and hated losing every one of them. By now I know they're only meant to pass through our lives and we're lucky to have them as long as we do. Something else I'll point out, also just in case it may be helpful, is... I've learned to never try to predict the length of life of a cat; medical predictions and evidence be damned. Don't worry, be happy, and enjoy your little purr monster as you always have. Plan to mourn him and remember the good times when he, sooner or later, leaves, or needs you to help him leave, and then don't wait too long to welcome another into your lives. There are too many kitties needing homes. Please take what rings true for you and please excuse the rest. ♥️
Hello Sarah , good to hear from you again ,so sorry to hear Vader isn't to good, hope that things go well for you both, personally like you I've found it difficult when pets are ill, hard as it is to talk about these things it can be a release, meanwhile you have to take care of yourself as well, hope things go Ok , good to hear your back is getting better you shouldn't concern yourself about not vloging so often sometimes life gets in the way of what we want to do,not much we can do about it,you all take care of yourselves ❤ .
I get it. My senior bunny companion was diagnosed with idiopathic seizures last year. I find myself watching for any unusual imbalance of her body as that is one of the first signs of an episodic seizure. It’s hard to watch them go through their health issues for sure.
I'm so sorry you're going through this with Vader. I've been watching you since you were streaming on twitch as ZLadyLuthien, and I've loved seeing vader grow. I can't think of much to say other than I went and hugged my cat after watching this. I'm glad you're making a point of taking care of yourself
I was not expecting to hear the news about Vader. That seriously sucks. I'm a veterinarian and I can tell you that to recover from 1 saddle embolism is rare, but to recover from 2? Vader is a rock star!!! My heart breaks for you. I have dealt with a lot of clients and it is always deeply shocking to and heart breaking for them when their kitty has this condition. Unfortunately, we just don't have the medication options for cats with heart disease that we have for dogs. You have your priorities right though. His happiness is paramount. Treasure every moment as you are doing. .
I’m so sorry to hear about Vader. I can totally understand the pain you’re going though. My 17 year old house cat Jasper just 7 days ago was diagnosed with a large tumour on his liver and multiple tumours on his kidneys, which I was not expecting at all. He went in for a scan because he was losing weight and off his food and then the next day they phoned us to let us know the results. I’m so heartbroken that there’s nothing that can be done for him apart from palliative medication and we don’t know how long he has left. I was a mess all last week with constantly crying and my anxiety has gone through the roof. My 3 elderly house cats are my babies (I’ve had them since they were tiny kittens) and they feel part of me, if you know what I mean? Hopefully Vader will stabilise on his medication and live a lot longer than anyone predicts. At least he’s living his happy life exploring outside still. I don’t blame you for getting the tracker, it’ll put your mind at rest to know where he is. Sending love x
Oh gosh I'm so sorry. Vader is only 5 years old, so it was completely unexpected 😢 and he's my first "child" so I know what you mean...he's been my constantly companion for years since he was 8 weeks old, and to be honest I talk to him more than any human since I work from home mostly alone. 💕
@@sarahinscotland I’m the same. I’m constantly around them, so I just chat to them because I’m convinced they know what I’m saying! And I prefer their company to humans (apart from my husband of course lol). I just can’t imagine them not being here. I’ve been really lucky to have them all live until old age though. My eldest is 19 and I’ve got two 17 year olds. 5 years old is so young! I imagine it was a massive shock to get that news because of his young age. Life is so heartbreaking sometimes. He looks like such a beautiful loving caring cat in your videos.
I know how you fell about your cat illness. I just had to put my 18 year old winner dog to sleep on March 23. I’m still grieving, do something for yourself. Spend every moment as much as you can so you won’t regrets.
I am so sorry that Vader is going through this. There is nothing I can think to say except my heart goes out to you guys and I hope Vader is here for as long as possible. It's great news that you are taking care of yourself. Also. From one control freak to another. One hour of training is 15 minutes you get back every time you would have done x task that Wolfie can now do. :D
Please don’t think twice, calmness and goodness are so needed here in the land of uncle sam. Sorry guess that is a little selfish on my part.☺️ It is great you have found help and exercises to lessen the pain. PS gentle Vader hug. 5K wow! Here’s to summer, there, not here. Here they say the drought will continue and the wind. Plein Air April…boy would that we a challenge here. But who knows. April fool🤥on me.
Dear Sarah, I am so sorry about Vader. I know all too well how much that hurts. My last horse passed away March 3 and my beloved Aimee, my black lab, passed away April 14. I have been a hot mess since then. Mostly curled up on the sofa in fetal position. I am 76 now and it seems like the end of my world. My beloved husband of 42 years passed in Nov 2018 so now I am alone. I am so grateful for the love they all brought into my life for so long. Death is the price we all pay for this experience of living on Gaia. I just want you to know how very much I have come to love and appreciate you for sharing your art and your life with me these past years. I have my notifications turned on so that I get to see your posts as soon as you put them up. Your cinematography and music are the very best. Now that you have Wolfie helping you, I am so happy because I worried about your safety so much while you were working alone. Now I just relax and enjoy. I like to watch some of them more than once because there is so much to see. Also, if I take a screen shot on my iPad of a beautiful view, I can use it as a reference to do a painting. You do us such a tremendous service by sharing your life. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. May Love and Light surround you all the days of your life. P. S. I broke my back twice and had a scoliosis but recovered completely and could still mount and ride a horse at the age of 75, so that physical therapy is the most important self care next to your diet that you can do to live a long happy life. Keep it up and you will be pain free except for little strains here and there. I got my first horse at age 15 and was a Horsemaster who went on to ride to the highest level of Dressage. I still have a healthy blood pressure of 120/75, a healthy BMI, and take NO pharmaceuticals. It is a life style, being an athlete. You are doing the same with your hiking and biking over such rough terrains. I encourage you to continue your therapy and athletic lifestyle all the days of your life. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
It’s so heartbreaking. I’m sorry you lost so much. You’re right though…the bittersweet reality of knowing pure love is that it comes with loss at some point. I hope you are able to find other activities that keep you joyful. 💕

Good luck with your move!
Vader is such a good boy, and he has wonderful caring kitty parents. May he live long and have so much happiness ❤️
TFS!!
Yes he’s definitely a talker! He’ll sing the house down 😅
I'm so sorry to hear about Vader's troubles. You have to know, you're giving him his happiest life. He's a lucky kitty! ❤🐈⬛
Thank you so much!
Congrats on reaching 5k!! Please consider linking to your alt channels from the description of each video. My daughter told me she had trouble finding you on this channel--just knew you had another from references on your studio channel. ❤
I always forget to do that. TH-cam allows tagging now, so I can add @sarahburnsstudio to my description.
Hope he sticks around on our side as long as he can ❤
It's the hardest part of having our companions. 💜
Thank you 💕
Só sad Sarah...be strong and enjoy these moments with him...good energies for all of you!!!
Yay 5K! Congrats, and also good to hear that you're taking care of yourself.
I think animal parents understand!!
those purrs!!
Hugs for you and cuddles for Vader and Floki. It is so hard to see them sick.
5K!! so very deserved, the videos are so good and I love watching them.
Take care!! Happy hiking and painting! ( I think that should be a thing, like happy holidays and happy new year :) )
Thank you 🙏 I agree, Happy Hiking and Painting!
It was be interesting to see Wolfie in training.
I can truly feel your love for your cat and you almost made me cry! Wish all of you the best. ❤
Thank you 🥰
Vader is living his best life and that's thanks to you two.
♥️
Thank you 💕
Hello Sarah , good to hear from you again ,so sorry to hear Vader isn't to good, hope that things go well for you both, personally like you I've found it difficult when pets are ill, hard as it is to talk about these things it can be a release, meanwhile you have to take care of yourself as well, hope things go Ok , good to hear your back is getting better you shouldn't concern yourself about not vloging so often sometimes life gets in the way of what we want to do,not much we can do about it,you all take care of yourselves ❤ .
Having my little furry companions taught me that life is so bittersweet. 💕
Aww you've seen him since he was a wee kitten! Hug all the kitties 💕
🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀
Hugs to the 4 of you xxxx
OMG so sorry to hear this!!!!!! hugs to You both - three
*_Hello Sarah, I'm from Indonesia, I'm very happy to find your channel, which do you prefer, hiking or trekking?_*
Right now I prefer hiking or short treks
❤
I was not expecting to hear the news about Vader. That seriously sucks. I'm a veterinarian and I can tell you that to recover from 1 saddle embolism is rare, but to recover from 2? Vader is a rock star!!! My heart breaks for you. I have dealt with a lot of clients and it is always deeply shocking to and heart breaking for them when their kitty has this condition. Unfortunately, we just don't have the medication options for cats with heart disease that we have for dogs. You have your priorities right though. His happiness is paramount. Treasure every moment as you are doing. .
Yea that’s what the vet said too. Whenever we bring him in they are like oh look it’s the mighty Lord Vader! He’s only 5 so we think he is strong
Sending so much *LOVE* to Vader from me & Pika 💖 HUGS to you all 💗
Thank you 🤗
💖💖💖
Aww I’m sorry to hear that 💕
Please spend every minutes with your baby, so you won’t regret. Seriously….
Learning to let go of control is a huge challenge...but I'm getting there! 😅
@@sarahinscotland 😄
Please don’t think twice, calmness and goodness are so needed here in the land of uncle sam. Sorry guess that is a little selfish on my part.☺️ It is great you have found help and exercises to lessen the pain. PS gentle Vader hug. 5K wow! Here’s to summer, there, not here. Here they say the drought will continue and the wind. Plein Air April…boy would that we a challenge here. But who knows. April fool🤥on me.
💙🙏
I care
🐈⬛😭
