Nice one! Had two ibizas happened on both of them. Just needed a refresher on where the bolts are. Thanks so much for sharing.

Your video helped me a lot in this repair. Good job!! My problem was in the side pins. 6:31 minute of the video. They had simply volatilized. I made some drill on each side and pass a piece of thick wire on each side to endure on one side the small side dock, and on the other to be even and not decoupled as it should be of origin.

Still helping people with this video 🙂! Just fixed mine, thought i would have to live with it broken.

Spot on. Mine had a different problem. The lateral pins in the tray broke, and the lateral spring was rubbing on the bottom, not allowing the tray to come out. Just disabled all, and bend the spring end, put it back together, and it's fine.

I finally saw your video and managed to fix it completely. I had broken the two side bolts, the one that holds the small spring and the one on the opposite side, with a piece of hot wire I went through the plastic and simulated the bolts, the groove of the plate roll had to be rebuilt with loctite and bicarbonate, this is the place extended and what was left I introduced it in the hole that you indicate. I think that the latter is what you lacked to fully recover its operation.

Hello, from that you describe, yes you will need to remove the trim panel which holds it in place. Hope you get it fixed mate!

The cup holder is made only made of 5 parts… it’s not exactly hard to put back together. Tell me what you need help with. Everything you need to disassemble and reassemble the cup holder is shown in this video

You skipped over how to put the metal coil back into the housing...

If you see at 5:54 There is a matching T shaped slot at the top of the casing, and the spring itself sits in the recess seen at about 6:00. There is only one orientation that the spring goes back in, hope this is helpful!

Hey mate, could you please give me the dimensions of the spring please? Thanks!

Hello, unfortunately I don’t have the car any more, the spring was no more than 15mm wide along the ‘barrel’, the material is probably either .25 or .5mm thick from memory. Unsure on diameter.

@@caltarmac oh okay, thanks though! I just bought a second hand Ibiza and a second hand cup holder which I am restoring. I'm using a retractable dog leash's spring, hope it will work 😅
