When Luffy finally sits upright after reviving and asks "What happened...to me?", his voice is significantly different. Zoan awakenings are confirmed to have two different outcomes: you're either overtaken by the will of the fruit, or you meld completely with it. With Luffy on the brink of death, his life force was weak, and that voice could've been Joyboy taking the reins for like a split second.
A lot of people go into One Piece with the wrong mindset and all they think about is catching up. If it takes you forever to catch up GOOD!!!!! Because that is the one thing I regret most and there's nothing worse than not having 800+ episodes of unexplored content
