I am not forcing you to watch it , you may do as u like 😃
And Episode 1062 was day 8,614 XD I've never seen anyone do this, and it's kind of a brilliant way to get non-fans hype about riding the huge af journey out.

The flashbacks are extremely common. We usually don't get any back story on characters. Except through flashbacks. We see them fight or face struggles and it flashes back. Sometimes you end up hating a character the whole time they are on screen and then a flash back happens, you feel like a dick, and suddenly they are in your top 10 characters.
This manga started in 1997. And it is still ongoing (for another 2 more years for sure). Imagine the more anime episodes and the more fluid and marvelous animation it will be :)

Great reaction but you are so lucky the latest episode was a combat heavy episode. Things i want to point out if you want to watch one piece: - Its incredibly long for a reason. Its set in an incredibly fleshed out world with a lot of history integral to the story. - There are sooooooo many characters that are well written with goals and morals that clash with each other. - One piece is the easily the best example of foreshadowing and introducing plot points that have insanely important and satisfying payoffs hundreds of chapters later. An example is that we are name dropped Kaido on episode 314 and learn stuff about him until he is finally properly introduced 400 episodes later, where he is built up to be the primary antagonist almost 200 eps later. - The story at surface looks like a goofy pirate show for kids but it is incredibly political, tackling a lot of themes ranging from colonialism to healthcare inequality. - The one piece anime has been going on for over 20 years now, so dont expect this level of animation. Also, since its been going on for so long, it can have really wonky pacing! - My recommendation is to watch one piece until about episode 44 (aka the Arlong Park arc) because it shows you just how good and well written one piece is. If you havent enjoyed watching it until then, One piece probably isn't a series you'll like! Best of luck!!
Think it also bares explaining that the reason for the "wonky pacing" is because the anime will slow down in order for the manga to get ahead. So at the beginning we were getting one or two chapters worth of story an episode now we're lucky if we get a quarter of a chapter an episode and the rest of the time gets padded out with added flashback "tension building" silences. But they still know how to make the hype moments pop when they want to

idk if youve started watching one piece now, but Koby is one of my all time anime favorites, in the show Oda (One piece creator) gives the message to pursue your dreams, and Koby is the show of that, in this first episode he looks funny and is coward, but once he follows his dream, even when he hasnt achieved it but just following it, he looks better, does better, is stronger, why? because he is following what he wants, he is LIVING, hes following his dream and thats why hes so much "better" in every aspect. And this is one of the many reasons i love one piece, it shows you that if you follow your dream youll live your best life.

If there was a new king of the pirates already then the show would already ended since that’s the main goal of the protagonist Monkey D. Luffy I mean one of the goals is to find the one piece but he’ll become king of the pirates at the same time he finds the one piece I bet.. also the original king of the pirates has almost 6 billion berry bounty and Luffy has a 3 billion bounty so he’s actually pretty close.

One thing to know about One Piece, it's not about the end goal, it's about the journey there.-
It's cool that in the first ep, Zoro was introduced and in the last ep (in his case, ep 1062), he gets to witness Zoro's greatness.
One Piece animation isn't always peak. But when it comes to the big moments you can definitely prepare for a spectacle.
