The build up for this moment has been insane. From Punk Hazard, to Dressrosa, to Zou, to Whole cake, and now Wano. One Piece is amazing and truly one of a kind...Roof Piece has finally made it onto the channel
The Longest Saga but totally worth it when you finished the Whole Story. You can tell that Straw Hat Pirates took effort and patience to help Kinemon and Momonosuke and Defeat all Kaido's and Big Mom's Alliances from Ceasar to Doflamingo to Jack to Katakuri to Kaido and Big Mom🔥🔥🔥

EPICEST BUILD-UP EVER
dude, dress rosa was building up since Jaya, and kaidou having subtle build up with garp talking about the yanko in water 7, Geko Moria talking about their rivalry in thriller bark and marine ford, we could say that just about the entire anime existed for this moment, but the thing is, the show is still building, and I'm absolutely HYPED for elbaf, but also a little scared because this episode is going to be difficult to top.
It doesn't matter how long Oda spent to built all that crap up at the end of the day he still decided to ruin all the sameris characters and even worse than that everything he built up over the years ended up being just dropped plot points anyway that Oda doesn't intend to fix or continue

Everytime I see this episode I start tearing up and crying, this time is no exception. The animation, the story, "We Are" playing as he punches Kaido. It's so PEAK

I love how everybody thinks Luffy and Roger's dreams were to be the Pirate King, when it was always alluded to be something completely different, even back in Sabaody. Becoming Pirate King is just a tool for Luffy.
He even says that in a later episode. "Maybe it will be possible, once I am the King of the Pirates" "Thats the end of my dream"
He knows that now after watching that ep, he even went back to this episode 😂
Not even alluded to; Rayleigh straight up says that Roger didn't care about titles and "Pirate King" was something other people called him and that Roger himself never aspired to be. On top of that, Luffy said a million times before the flashback that he wanted to be king of the pirates, but in the flashback they hide what he says. If someone can't figure out from that that his dream is different then there's no hope for them.
Lol Luffy isn’t thinking deeper about becoming a pirate king , we know what the one piece symbolizes. Luffy just happens to be going to places where he befriends certain people and saves them. Just like he did with Alabasta and just like Wano, No offense but Luffy isn’t really a smart character he’s not known to think on things to deeply rather just instinctively. Roger he knew certain things and I’d say he was much smarter than Luffy of course there is the age difference.
But I still think that’s what separates him from Luffy. If Roger had that devil fruit we wouldn’t need a Luffy. Mans already did the whole mission but was missing a piece. Roger never cared for the title but Luffy says it all the time
For me, Greatest ep in fiction.
Story telling, animation, emotion, action, Ost everything was peak 🛐🐐
I think this will forever remain the best episode of one piece.

Luffy felt like a whole different character during his entrance on the roof. One of the most badass entrances in anime

@@surgewarrior6882 lol I guess just good animation makes the episode for you, this episode was the best ,overall the animation was good from the beginning till the end not like those episodes where animation get's good only when a good moment is coming, the story was great, the emotional moments, the hype moments, the culmination of everything we went through from punk hazard, oden words coming true about the worst gen being the saviours, the contrast between everyone else and luffy-roger, great direction, great osts everything was best in this episode it lacked nothing, that's why this is overall the best episode yet, you can call other episodes to have the best animation or best badass moments according to you but that doesn't make an episode over-all the best.

Hei has a point about attacks "feeling strong". The different directors and animators for One Piece (as well as the time spent and staff working on a particular episode, don't call it budget) have different styles for how they sell the impact and damage of hits. Red Roc has the clear build-up with the rapid flashbacks, that moment of silence, then the We Are reprise, slowdown as Luffy's fist passes, then the moment he finishes saying "Red Roc" the impact is IMMEDIATE, only a few frames of shaking and then Kaido gets cratered. All of it is very carefully paced for maximum impact, which is also not coincidentally why impact frames end up making or breaking these important attacks. You can also go all the way back to Luffy's Jet Gatling vs Lucci in Enies Lobby which took advantage of similar slowdowns, musical cues, and flashing back to key moments (Robin's "I want to live" is immediately before the impact).

Yesterday I finally decided to get caught up on BC manga, so when I came across this early fight, I decided to check out how it looks in the anime.
Its the total opposite.
While the animation quality is far worse, the big difference you can feel is actually hidden in the frames where impacts are happening, there is 0 weight conveyed.

King of pirates isn’t the final dream of Luffy. They always cut it before he says it.
Ep 1015 is the best adaptation of chapter 1000 ever. The extra tie-in with the past and future memories with the brothers and the big boys was speculated at the time, it wasn't shown like this in the manga, but so glad they brought it together visually.
And this is why he is the GOAT!🐐🫶🏼

Imagine if Oda had this planned out as far ahead as Marineford and Ace had said something like "Seek out Yamato." or "Seek out Oden." to Luffy as he was dying. That would have been wild.

Luffy really walked past Big Mom and Kaido as if they were the same as the first fishmen he met.
Luffy saying he was going to be the king of pirates felt so different when he says it in episode 1015. I cried gang. I didn’t know I was even tearing up. Everything felt so perfectly in place. Wasn’t even sad either I felt so proud of a fictional character.

Luffy's dream is still a mystery. When he tells it to ace and sabo they just laugh at him, when he tells it to his crew they also laugh at him. He says that being a king of the pirate is just a way to get it. Maybe what roger and his crew saw on raftel(the one piece) where they laugh is the same as luffy's dream.
