    Maneuvering jobsites like that are a pain in the ass. We have 48ft flatbeds with the moffetts hanging in the back. All of our trucks have sleepers as well so we have about 75ft of truck to work in those constructions. But my advice would be use the moffett to your advantage as well. If you can move trash cans or anything in your way do it. The builders can later move it with the boom forklift. Besides that great job with having patience and taking your time. I wouldve been cussing up a Storm😂

    • @erikarreaza6095

    Your very skilled and you work a lot harder for your money then most truckers!! Have you ever thought about hanging freight systems. Have you ever realized with your skills you could drive a tanker and always get premium pay. Your work is for young men only not middle age that’s when you get hurt. As a young man I hailed backholes and cranes that took half a day to lock down on the deck. 🤪 climbing pulling jerking balancing with a center of gravity 20 ft above the cab. I started at age 17. I’m 77 now. One of these days you are going to look at your profit margins and say”my life sucks and take your high skills and move up in the industry 🤗. Your great!!

    Im impressed by your calm demeanor throughout this fiasco. I have no idea why construction sites do shit like this. They know that they have to leave enough space for deliveries and yet they dont on top of it all is they don't seem to care enough to help make someone else's life easier. If I were you I would have made room for myself ( hot wired the zoom boom ) and screw them if they didn't like it. That or I would have packed every thing around the zoom boom and gone on my way.

    Good job getting yourself out of that giant pickle! And with no damage to equipment or load. Congrats!
    Couple of things I'd mention; I wouldn't unload everything on one side of the trailer only and then go moving it around, especially unstrapped, that's asking for disaster!
    And when you hook up trailers don't just depend on hearing the click, or even just a tug test, that can bite you in the butt in the long run. Always get out and look up into the throat of the 5th wheel and visibly see the lock finger is fully around the pin. Especially if you own the equipment. Also in these crazy days, never leave a truck stop without checking your 5th wheel pin. Maybe it's just a USA problem, but there are many reports of assholes pulling the 5th lever in the middle of the night. Good Luck! From a 47 year driver now retired.

    nice video as always!

    • @jessejaymes8684
      @jessejaymes8684 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      As for the leg workout, it’s not an issue. The clutch pedal is only used to put her in your 1st gear and reverse. It’s called floating. You just have to watch your RPMs or you listen to the sound of the engine. That sound, as RPMs increase or decrease, will tell you when you can upshift or downshift.

    • @WoodCutr1
      @WoodCutr1 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @@jessejaymes8684 I know all about floating and driving a standard transmission, but listen when he is backing the trains, its clutch in, out, in, out, all to either control speed below idle minimum (say idle is 3mph, and he wants 1mph)
      or forward and reverse over and over again, hundreds of times each time he backs those trains

      Sorry. Misinterpreted your question. But I must say, that’s a good catch. Although I have never driven B’s,I’ve driven primarily Private Sanitation. From Roll-Off to Walking Floor to Dump Trailers. Currently I’m working construction with a quad axle end dump trailer. Mostly sand, crushed stone, and sometimes demo and road salt. We’re permitted for 120,000 gross. Personally, I can say I have used the clutch to correct speed, it is an 18, but very very rarely. Low R High is sufficient to make corrections, but again, I’ve never driven B Trains. Also wanna add, Matt is a hell of a driver. I’m sure he knows what he’s doing.

    I know it probably couldn't have worked in this case since the left side of the trailer was in the soup, but in a similar situation could the Moffit be used to shift the pup over a couple of inches just to get a bit of wiggle room, or does it not have that kind of capacity?
