That early scene when your sister dies and you are shot out the window... I remember playing it for the first time and when she died.. my jaw dropped. When I died I was in rapt attention. I remember when your body bounces off that roof I remember my breath sucked in. That was what gave me determination to beat the villain, not the game, the monster that killed me and my sister. Few games have ever motivated me such as a body, bouncing off a roof.
Same! My sis had played this before me years ago,and watched me play completely unaware. I remember looking back at her for the briefest moment of "DID THAT REALLY JUST HAPPEN?!?!" My heart broke, I wanted revenge/justice for Rose, and to keep him from hurting anyone else. I did everything in that first playthrough with that thought in mind.
When I think of this phrase ''death is not your destiny today'' I sometimes feel like it's our conscious saying hold on do not give up on life. It gives me courage that the small things like the dog and his endless friendship. Shows our love and compassion for each other. Is the right way to take care of your scars in time to make a stand for each other.
something sad about when you and rose get shot is that rose didn’t die initially from the bullet. when fighting a banshee she’ll sometimes say this “did you know rose didn’t die straight away from that shot….no. she watched you fall from the window, heard as your body thudded against the ground, and cried bitter tears before a final shot from lucian..ended her life.” hearing that detailed description in the banshee’s voice made me so upset 😭
That scene where you’re shot out the window after your sister dies stuck with me for so long when I’d seen it when I was younger made me think I was schizophrenic when I kept remembering a game with this exact scene. Eventually I’ve finally found it and realised I didn’t just make up a game cutscene.
Bird shits on dudes head, gets shot by a cannon, survives, falls like 2 stories, survives, and a dog licks his hand and he lives. But his sister was shot by the same gun and didnt move. OKAY :D
this is to this day, my favourite game of all time. i started after my mum showed me it when i was 6 or 7. (my mother adores the whole franchise, especially fable 2.) i really hope they decide to release a 4th game on the pc.
I love the part where you fall down from the castle and the dog comes to you like a real friend, just like a family member, when Lucien shot my dog I was just waiting for the time where I could kill him (Lucien) and when I got the chance to bring my dog back to life I did it without thinking it twice, I do love the game, part of my memories.
With all the choices you can make in this game wouldn't it be cool knowing part way threw the story after you return from the spire you could choose to destroy the coller on the shoulders to free them but that's just an idea I had

This game has really beautiful cut scenes and is overall pretty but suffers from repetitive combat and a crappy inventory menu
