I saw them in Nashville 10 days before this performance was recorded. I met them after the show and a couple of us had a drink with front man David Byron at the hotel where they were staying and talked music for a few minutes. Nice guy. It's so sad all of them are gone except guitarist Mick Box. This version of the band should be in the RocknRoll Hall of Fame.

Blame that on Def Leppard Hysteria, Whitesnake 87 and the oh so perfect onslaught of hair metal and early urban music. This performance is out of tune pitchy vocals with cracking voices, and that raw honesty that drew us to it. There's still good music, but the industry kills it

I saw them during the World Series of Rock at Cleveland Municipal Stadium in August 1975. On the bill was Rod Stewart and Faces, Uriah Heep, Aerosmith, Blue Öyster Cult and Mahogany Rush. Sublime... my favourite line-up of the band as well.
First concert was Uriah Heep in November 1973 at Glasgow Apollo, Scotland. The following year, they opened with STEALIN' and the stage was in total darkness with just a couple of small guide lights to get the band on stage. A waterfall of dry ice was pouring across it and right over the front, with Dave Byron sitting cross legged on a monitor at the edge with a single spotlight now on him. First verse was riveting, then came the explosion of sound as the whole band came in and full colour lighting drenched the stage which looked even more amazing.
Managed to see this line-up five times, and one more with John Wetton on bass for Return To Fantasy, so this band is held in the highest regard by me forever.
I also had the privilege of speaking to Ken Hensley about running with an idea for a film with Uriah Heep songs from the 1972-75 era as the soundtrack, but it never expanded to the point where we felt it could be done properly without a big budget. Ah well... just need to listen to all the records again and imagine the film which is locked safely in my head... lol

@@bugmandu1 LOL good for you, a time to remember as evident. The stages at the concert halls I attended made that impossible. One would of had a sore neck by the end of the show. Stages where high. Chairs where set many feet back leaving a gap between the chairs & the stage which filled in quickly by the standing, causing all to have to stand in order to see. Soon chairs on the floor just disappeared, they no longer bothered setting them up.
