62 years is a long time
Every time a game passed I said "wow this looks amazing" and resolution wasn't even 150x150. Now I can understand how people were feeling back then
Pong must look really crap to younger people, but it was INSANE in the '70's. We couldn't believe you could actually move stuff on your TV. It seemed like science fiction, I think we were more amazed by that game than any young person will ever be by a game.
Lmfao 😂
It’s understandable. I sometimes realize that it’s crazy we have interactable 3D worlds that we can control, photorealistic or not, and we use it mostly for entertainment. Makes me wonder how we were able to do this. We’re lucky to live in the future
I take it you haven't played a single video game since Pong if you believe that lmao
@@bradlasalle2888 Emphasis on *in the 70's*
@@kingofbubbles6220 I was talking about their argument that they "were more amazed by that game than any young person will ever be by a game"
Yes games like Pong were breakthrough achievements, but video games are lightyears ahead of where they were in the 70s, and I'd argue the capabilities of today's technology amaze people much more than Pong did.

Bruh. Half-Life 2 was so ahead of its time its actually insane.
just like how HL Alyx is ahead of its time.
Half-Life is Valve’s flagship game. Whenever they release a title game it’s always a breakthrough in gaming. Such as how Half-Life 1 revolutionized the FPS game. It showed that FPS games aren’t just run and gun shooters. It showed that they can be so much more and portray a wonderful story all the while providing revolutionary graphics. Half-Life 2 showed the power of a good physics engine, and the Source engine was so good in fact, it’s still being used today. Half-Life Alyx was released and made to well, revolutionize the VR genre. And, as of now, Half Life Alyx is the best VR game out right now. Giving a compelling story while also showcasing the power of Source 2.

While I do somewhat agree in general, this video focuses on evolution of Graphics.
And usually shooting and racing games are the ones having realistic graphics.
Other games that focuses on mechanics work far better with simplistic 2D graphics/pixel art.

Ralph. H. Baer is responsible for designing the first authentic video game console and game!
@AMysticSeer nope that wasnt a video game!
I grew up in a very conservative home, and the first video game I got to play was Need For Speed Underground 2. But I'll never forget the first game I play on PS3 when it came out: Uncharted. I remember playing it for 4 hours straight, not eating, taking a break, or going to pee, and the whole time I was smiling. To this day, it is still my favorite game
1:14 I started 1984 with Pitstop II. As far as I can recollect, I also had Pole position. Fast forward to 2006. In Call of Duty 3, you could choose Axis team in multiplayer mode. After that, everything became very woke and boring. Today, I only have Nokia phone, Chromecast and a pullup bar.
4hours? Man we used to play Dayz and CSS for 50 hours straight and getting hallucinations and eventually going to sleep hahahah
I'm an 80's/90's kid. Grew up with Atari and literally almost every console afterwards.....I can say for absolute certain that Sega, N64, and Playstation had the most profound impacts of any new generation gaming for me and my friends. Honestly. Gameplay mechanics and gameplay physics and dynamics in environments really need to step it up. Games these days could look like real life but I feel like im still playing ps3 era games..
We've reached a point where games are quite fine graphic wise and they almost do everything we need them to. This is a major mile stone. Now the improvements will be on graphics if they want to, adding dynamic items or people. After 35 years of gaming, I'm finally satisfied with the current status. 😃
Now the need to move this level of realistic fidelity over to VR... Xbox team seriously & purposely dragging their collective feet on...

what in the world is “D” that freaked me out with the graphics and lighting and the character in the mirror
I had to skip lmao
Japanese horror game
"Hey son, i'll give you the D you were asking for!"
@@DrikTrajado u made me think of a different "D"
Me too Im watching this at like 2am and I don't want nightmares lol
Imagine showing all this to Alan Turing
Can you explain me how he was connected to all of this?
@@Surya-sd9ty he is the god father of all modern computers as he created the first working model of a computing machine to decipher "enigma" .. i hope i got nothing wrong
@@patrickhatrick1 oh..I know slightly about him cracking a nazi code and eventually overshadowed by the Brits due to his homosexuality. Just wondered how an unspoken war hero is connected with games. Thanks for the explanation anyways❤️
@@Surya-sd9ty I wouldn't call a man who has a movie made about him an unspoken hero.
@@smoothcheeky8910 Without the movie he most likely would have stayed an unspoken hero.
Thank,
I'm not a gamer, but I remember all these games, I played three or four games a year.
Max Payne is one of the most memorable games.
The original MK should have been on this.
Ya, this list doesn't really show the evolution of graphics, just different games of every year. No differentiating between 2d and 3d. No mention of platforms either.
Crysis was so ahead of its time beautiful graphics even up to now
I agree, it's really insane how much Crytek pulled off with their engine! Btw, do you think Far Cry 3 looks better or worse than Crysis?
❤
@@funnyrobloxarchives2251 Better but not by a lot! Crysis is like the only game i have seen with water rainbow reflections which is gorgeous! Crysis aged so well!
Was more curious to see what games they used for this video since it's all over the map with bad games now and only a few good ones
I've never even heard of it til now lol
I’ll be honest, crysis 2 still holds up extremely well.
You said it man. I have the urge to download it again😂
So does the original crysis
It's still a marvel to FPS and gaming in general
That’s amazing, graphics on video games went from black and white dots and lines, to ultra realistic animations made on a computer and enacted by motion capture teams
