- Bleach has a lot of Foreshadowing a lot of which has been underlooked by anime community as a whole! In today's video we will dissecting and explaining several moments that foreshadow the story of Bleach.

More foreshadowing for Masaki being a Quincy include her immediately panicking when Ichigo headed towards Grand Fisher's lure, showing awareness of spiritual beings. Also, when Isshin gives Ichigo that protection charm (the one that saves Kon later), he says it used to be his mother's. And guess which race prominently uses little gadgets and stuff? Yup, it's the Quincy. Or, just Uryu, since most Quincy don't. But that's even further foreshadowing for Masaki being affiliated with the Ishida family.
Great video! I do feel some of these can be argued against, but there still are tons of foreshadowing moments as well. Kubo is an amazing author, and I wish more people would appreciate him, and Bleach's unique, poetic style of storytelling.
100% agree, and even the other quenches had gadgets in their battles so it really does push that narative
Many peoples said Tite Kubo is poor writers mangaka compare to kishimoto Dan oda but he gave us a lot of foreshadowing that turn out he was the best mangaka

To me bleach has by far the best foreshadowing in the big three. I love shows that make u rewatch it for the details, bleach is the only series I’ve ever rewatched where it felt like a new experience. There’s more and more stuff that I realized. Even in the first episode of bleach rukia forshadows the fact that aizen is behind that first hollow meeting, and during ichigos fight with white they legit foreshadow true bankai in it. Bleach has just really incredible foreshadowing and people should recognize it more

@@P0xal it seems soul king also hollowed shinigami with quincy ability. Imagine how angry aizen and urahara are if they knew they manipulated by soul king to create his vessel, but in aizen case he left a clue for soul king to escape to hueco mundo. I think.
I love bleach but one piece has foreshadowing better then bleach.
A foreshadowing you could say is knowing Masaki having some involvement with spirits
From chapter one it was very clear Ichigo and Karin could see/talk to spirits but Yuzu and Isshin could not
But specifically Isshin was aware of his kids ability as an every day thing like breathing. At this point we don’t know Isshin’s history as a Shinigami but we can simply guess if the father doesn’t have this ability the only other candidate would be the mother
How else would their children have this ability?
Especially with the sudden appearance of Rukia and new hollows, it’s emphasized Masaki’s importance to the connection of the spiritual side of the world. Especially to Ichigo from the Grand-Fisher fight and drive to protect as a guardian
There's even more, like it was very clear that there was something up with Masaki
Two more i believe to be foreshadowings: When Toshiro was fighting that fraccion before he removed the power limitator, the fraccion said that he believed the flowers in the back of his bankai meant the time until the bankai is deactivated, but Toshiro only says something like "i don't remember saying that this is whats gonna happen", then we see in tybw that he grows up;
Another foreshadow to Zarakis zanpakutou is when Zaraki was fighting Nnoitra, at some point Nnoitra said something about Zarakis sword not being able to cut him, and then the focus shifts to Yachiru licking her lips
Kubo was so good at foreshadowing that most people couldn’t even tell he was doing it

If an author writes a story so subtle that nobody at all understands it, is that good subtelty?
@@reksfoleur859 it’s really not hard to understand if you just pay attention and make note of things. It just reveals more layers the more you reread. If you can’t see it that’s on you. 🤷🏽♂️
@@MrCrimsonftw it is not really an answer to my question tho.. This is a genuine line of thoughts that occurred to me when reading your comment. If a hint towards a specific moment/an important piece of information is so much hidden that nobody can spot it, doesn't it mean that it is well done necessarily? Or do we assume that most readers are simply to stupid to understand it?
The author of SnK was pretty good at foreshadowing in very subtle ways compared to Tite Kubo for example.
I simply feel that a lot of people are praising Kubo way too much on literally every single thing. I have doubts about the fact that some of the so called foreshadowings were there almost from the beginning of the manga.
@@reksfoleur859SnK is bad at foreshadowing, except for chapter 1 and last chapter, everything else inbetween was retconned, which isn’t a bad thing. We actually made an analysis in my writing classes at 4th year of my bachelor.
SnK’s foreshadowing seems subtle, because it’s one of the types of hinting that use retconning as it’s base. When the author wants something in the future, he leaves a “hint” behind, but the role of the hint isn’t thought out, and the author challenges himself to come up with something in the future. This is pretty common, although some authors are better at this than others.
Kubo uses his worldbuidling as hints. Bleach’s foreshadowing seems subtle, because Kubo’s worldbuilding is weak, which is intentional, but it makes his hints weak consequently. They are there, and they make sense, because majority of the point that were foreshadowed, had concrete planning behind it. But the focus isn’t on the story, instead, it’s on his characters. Kubo uses objects, locations and circumstances to hint.
That’s why you notice things only on second and third read, because you take off your attention from the focus point.
To answer your question: yes, academically speaking even the subtlety so thin that readers never notice, it’s still there if analyzed. Both SnK and Bleach use academic foreshadowing.
But SnK, on contrary, has less “foreshadowing” as we viewers understand it, which is hinting with intent.
This video was also foreshadowed, by Aizen. This was all a part of his Plan.

I just noticed that back in the anime when kenpachi first encountered ichigo ,that when yachiru comes out ichigo asked here first who she is then he asked “what are you?” Now that’s foreshadowing

I gotta hand it to Kubo he definitely has a better handle on foreshadowing than I think people give him credit for. Although I would say he's just not a particularly strong writer across the board tbh. He tries his best 😇

The foreshadowing and revelation that Retsu the kindly healer was/is a maniacal serial killer with a bodycount was the most jarring. Isshin's reveal for me really opened up the concept of Shinigami exiles living in the human world and how they adjust to such a radically different, 'free' world after cutting themselves off from Soul Society. Kubo sure knows how to handle the game.

If you pay attention to the Japanese dialogue in the anime, Aizen definitely says 'Shinigami to...' before Isshin interrupts
Bleach is not for simple minded people, its complex and handles more mature content.

Slickest foreshadowing ever
My favorite foreshadowing is definitely the Aizen leaving the SS and talking to Ukitake. His legendary speech "Since The Beginning, no one has ever stood in the heavens, neither you, nor I, not even God himself, but that emptiness in the throne of heaven will be filled from this day forth, i will be the one to stand in the heavens." Meaning he knew about the mimihagi. Because it's weird to see Ukitake and Aizen have a conversation and it could have been anybody else. (Because Ukitake is underrated and a wasted character) why we don't see him too much. But it makes sense later on.
Foreshadowing in Bleach or as we like to call it Aizen overlooking the whole story making sure everything falls into place xD

If Burn The Witch and the Hell arc foreshadows the story in similar ways then I'll have one hell of a fun time theorizing and predicting BTW and Hell.
Also have u read the Knight and the Lion story. Alot of ppl believe that served as Kubo's inspiration for Balgo and the rest of Burn The Witch.
I'm just listening to an audio book of it. It's an okay story if your into that stuff.

The gremmy turning into a monster is a reach. Im pretty sure many called him a monster because of his beast like strength, But thats it.
Speed readers/watchers shouldnt even talk since they pay no attention. Bleach world building is insane and well thought through. I loved when Ichibei erased Yhwachs name and it affected Ichigo when he tried to recover his Shinigami powers during training with Urahara when Old Man couldnt say his name. Zangetsu/White was also great. And Final Getsuga Tenshou was foreshadowing about stuff from novels, about how Ichigo's Shiba ancestor wanted to help and replace Reio as the pillar of a new world. Not only that, bcs Ichigo is trybrid his FGT acted both as FGT, raising Shinigami stats to the level of Reio, as well as Letzt stil from Quincies and resurrection of Arrancars. And when 2 Zangetsus merged into one they foreshadowed Ichigos Horn of Salvation. Everything else is also great I just wanted to speak about Ichigo since hes MC and I like him a lot.
Aizen running a way from Unohana didnt mean much to begin with, because at no point did she try to fight him, like she didnt run at him or do anything, also during the fake karakura arc, everyone went down and she still didnt get involved. People say she had faith in ichigo but it wasnt ichigo that defeated aizen(alone). it was him with the help of kiske a big help at that. Cause he was fcked if he didnt place a seal. Might i also remind you that the final getsuga was an ass pull aswell. Similar to nanao's zanpaktou
The colored and b&w tend to have different translations. B&w is the original translation btw
yumichika also calls his sword by the wrong name just like kenpachi gave his sword a different name

Yachiru touched the zanpaktou not point at it, if she did it would be alot more believable that she was his true zanpaktou. I like how she got the name Yachiru when her name was never that to begin with. But she made it seem like she knew exactly what she was and only kenpachi and the rest of cast didn't know.
Evenso that ishin never hated grandfrisher and even infact knew it was ywach, he never went hunting for him since he got his soul reaper powers or even during when ichigo lost his powers which could've set up tybw alot better. Than again, besides tell ichigo the truth he didnt do anything else or even supported in defeating ywach you can't really say he hated ywach either.🤷♂️
