Great video. Btw that additional footage you are referring to was a ubisoft creators program thing
Hey TheHiddenOne.
@@MasterTemplar781 Hi there Master Templar. Love the name :)
Great video
Concerning the parkour, let's not be blind here, it's the same as Valhalla, making her do flips doesn't make the parkour better mechanicaly. Everything is still very basic and devoid of any complexity.
It does make her look more agile and acrobatic but that's just for show, the parkour is still boring and have been like that since Origin.
It's been 7 years.
Hopefully with this game being the last one in the open world rpg entry, they'll return to parkour focused gameplay and world design.
The stealth part sold me though, i'll definitely play as her for most of the game, I hope she is an intersting character.
Valhalla parkour is the same as unity just slower, and with different animations. Stop being an idiot. Naoe is way faster than Eivor and has way better animations. I saw one reused animation in the gameplay, and it was one of the few good ones from Valhalla and mirage.
It is but let see how they flush it out
I think Shadows seems to have the mindset that faster parkour is better, the same was done in Mirage, I think itâs moreso the freedom of movement letting people get creative and not how fast of flashy it looks
7:25 thereâs the typical hood, the red sash, but also the Assassin logo on her hidden blade, though difficult to see. The deepdive into the character design confirmed the Naoe does is part of the Assassins. The story will probably show this pretty early on.
Sorry I worded that part badly, I meant more like the assassins being present in the story
one thing that i hated is the jump that naoe performs is the same shity weighty jump that valhala does
Yeah I noticed that, weird animation for a character light on her feet
imagine paying $129.99 for this full game when ghost of tsushima already exists and Black Myth Wukong is $59.99
Tsushima look like a ps 3 game
The base game is 70$ , LITERALLY no one know is forcing you to buy ultimate editions but you gotta moan everywhere like those youtubers who weren't gonna play it anyway but yeah let's rant about it it's FREE and also gets you views.
@@athar3752 You dont get all the content for $70 on release day. Your wrong.
@@cistas1598 Syke!
I feel like it's a mixed bag for me.
I feel like there are alot of good parts in the trailers. But i do feel like they're relying more on content creators to make the advertisement for them. I feel like there is some reason they didn't show this in ubisoft forward. Also most likely gonna be playing as Naoe in the game for more stealth sections and Yasuke for combat sections (if i buy the game i'm not sure about it yet). And i also hope they show some more story trailers.
"I am not alone. it will be me and the shadows."
It's still wait-and-see I guess, but there's something about this line that highlights how the writers in Ubisoft today don't actually understand Assassin's Creed and what it's about beyond the surface-level iconography and superficial phrasing.
We know its a new engine, its called the Anvil Pipeline. Its the first upgrade to the engine since unity with the Anvil Next engine.
What would actually sell me the game is them talking about Kyoto and Osaka.
I donât want bigger maps, I want to actually remember the places.
Ac2 was the only game that nailed it for me with the glyphs being on the most important buildings, but I can still remember some places from syndicate which Iâve only played once.
Origins also did an ok job but odyssey and Valhalla missed the mark for me.
Ima just wait till it come out before I could make a judgement they didnât show yasuke climb nothing which was very disappointing in my opinion
There's one thing about the facial animations I wanna mention, that is: I do notice the cutscene later on in the demo when Naoe makes an entrance, was much better than the cutscene with the old lady earlier on. Which seems to be more of a side minor part of the main mission, if you know what I mean. But anyway, I think the interaction between Yasuke and Naoe later in the demo was much better because the facial animations and how their head and body moves seems very natural like it should be.
I dunno if you noticed it, but I would advise you to compare the cutscene between the old lady, and the one with Naoe meeting up with Yasuke, deciding whos gonna take on the castle infiltration. It's actually very different. And I think that is partially bcus they put in the most work towards main characters that are important to the story, while the old lady was just an random civilian NPC that had animations that needed to be copied and paste across 100s of other civilian NPCs. So I think we'll still get really crisp facial animations. We'll just have to wait and see before we jump to any conclusions.
Also you talked about the Assassins part of how Naoe got her hidden blade, its been mentioned that her father, who is a real historical figure, was the head of the Iga shinobi clan, which we can imagine, is the Japanese brotherhood will be based on. So assuming her father, Fujibayashi Nagato, will be like a mentor Assassin leading the Brotherhood, which Im sure theyll introduce even more shinobis that are depicted as Assassins. So rest assured, there'll be something of the Brotherhood as we get closer to launch and we get more story bits that suggests that.
Last but not least, I think in terms of the story, I do think if they were to make Yasuke into a half-shinobi at some point in the story, I dont think they would want to spoil it right away in the story trailers and bits we'll be getting. So dont put up too much worries yet, we'll just have to see and hope thats what becomes of that character. Allowing us to stealth with Yasuke, while still retaining his brute combat abilities.
Why doesn't her initial outfit have a beaked hood? It is a terrible decision not to have it. It was my problem with Basim's first outfit in Mirage.
Ubisoft seem to be avoiding having characters with beaked hoods for some weird reason
8:48 While the stealth has improved greatly, the fact is that it is still not equivalent or holds a candle to the quality and depth of stealth in games like âHITMANâ. Granted, this is the most in-depth and high quality experience that the series has ever had to date but it still not a âstealth gameâ by any means. Compared to the heavy hitters of the stealth-action genre, Shadows still misses a ton of critical stealth game mechanics and its levels-albeit it is too early to say right now, which is why I am very hesitant on giving Shadows more credit than it deserves.
I am also confused about what you mean by âgoing back to the roots of the franchiseâ. The older AC games did not have in-depth and quality stealth mechanics-they were all shallow attempts at stealth, and instead opted for a mixture of in-depth parkour and shallow combat mechanics to drive the gameplay experience forward. This game seems to be doing much the same, although there are improvements to the stealth mechanics this time around.
One last thing, these trailers are heavily curated and scripted. We have no idea if the rest of the game will resemble this limited experience. Ubisoft were able to make Unity look amazing in its marketing materials-which includes gameplay showcases like the one that we are seeing right now, so I would strongly encourage everyone to hold a reasonable level of skepticism towards this game and how Ubisoft is marketing it.
There are different kinds of stealth games. Assassins creed is more about killing gaurds and using parkour to find ways to kill targets, while hitman uses disguises and mission storyâs to find ways to kill targets. Both are amazing stealth games, but they have different kinds of stealth.
The rain looked pretty bad. I hope they somehow improve it.
They still have 5 months. This demo was probably around 10-12 months old as well. It will definitely improve.
You all can't stop hating the game like every games has down sides u don't go into detail with those why go into these??? This game is wayy better and great!
It ainât looks like itâs only trying please the old school fans they didnât show yasuke climb one building which in my opinion is bad bad bad bad what about us RPG fans they just forgot bout us like fuck Ubisoft they can smd
Bro hasn't even played it
Called an opinion.
âDownsideâ ð my gosh, is that your view lol.
So you like bad games, and call them good.
âDownsidesâ Iâve got no downsides with Tsushima, and Sekiro, if I do, they are nitpicks.
Wow just wow, you like bad products, youâll support them with cash.
That is your view, or at least thatâs what I got from âdownsidesâ
I expect a lot more from 2024, when games that cost less money, had more options, came out a decade ago are more fun. More consistent.
âThis game will be wayy better, and great!!â highly doubt, itâs just rpg AC.
@@jojocasimir1118As a fan of both who feels like AC Rouge and Odyssey are the best games in the Series I couldnât care. Besides knowing Ubisoft Quebec there Will be RPG aspects.
@@JonslauâĶ.Rouge is an awful story, with great gameplay.
Thatâs the only thing Iâll agree with that game.
6:41 Right on the money, Will. The main issue is Ubisoftâs technology with AC is quite behind the industry standard. One great example is how poor the facial animations are during in-game cutscenes. You really notice this when you play currently industry leading games like âAlan Wake 2â.
I get that sticking to Anvil is easier and cheaper for Ubisoft, but their technology is really aging poorly. Mirage and Valhalla were both very disappointing because of their crumbling and aging technology stack, but I can see that Shadows will suffer much the same fate as Mirage and Valhalla.
Still, the game can still be great even with an aging and crumbling technology stack; the game can be very well designed, have a great story, and the levels can be excellent. I would still hold my breath until the game comes out, however.
As usual, no pre-orders.
The environmental graphics are the best in the industry though. Those are more important than facial animations, which comes from lack of mo cap in a side quest rather than technological problems. The actual skin and facial models looked great.
Valhalla cutscene wasnât bad Iâll say itâs pretty good but it could been better
The characters look incredible until they open their mouths, the uncanny valley and the rigid movement reminds me of fallout 4, itâs nowhere near as bad just the same kinda issue
When will you continue the outfit ranking series and rate AC Syndicate's outfits? ðð
Iâm in the process of editing the unity video at the moment!
the new new footage does give me hope for the game. still not completely won over, but itâs way better than what we got at first
Please Ubisoft add door opening and closing animations..
Might just be me, but I wanna see color grading make a proper return (not that acre mode in mirage, could barely see with how bright it was, even at night).
The Ezio Collectionâs biggest sin was removing the colour grading ðĪ§
My takeaway is that they dont want to just show us everything off the rip with 5 months down the road as well as basically spoil the whole game for us. Plus, they will probably have like 2 more show cases or gameplay trailers or breakdown videos before the game comes out so we can see more of these features and how much better the game looks. But at last just my opinion so we will have to wait and see
Also, it's not a brand new engine its a upgraded engine of the anvil engine just so ya know
Tbh I'm not convinced, I must see more gameplay. And the fact that there's not an animation to open/close the door is just weird... Same happened with Mirage, I waited till I saw some gameplay, didn't like, didn't buy. So ye, waiting till there's more ð
Edit: 1:52 tho, doesnt seem fluid the way Naoe teleports to the right to jump on the railing...
Your worng the brotherhoods symbol is on naoes hidden blade
We don't won't a Witcher coat of paint
A bit late for that don't you think
It Is a shame to see the vibe dipping more just cause the ac community needs a win but seeing more content being released already from other signs is at least somewhat of a good sign
Great video, much love
So, this game is coming out in November. It is June. There is a whole other 5 months until this game comes out. There will be more marketing and I am sure more will be shown.
For those people complaining and comparing Ubisoft Forward to the XBox showcase, XBox was showing games from many developers. Ubisoft Forward just from Ubisoft. People need to learn to do the math.

Iâve already decided to not preorder this game or even get it until itâs out for a few months.

@@willismakesmovies ah right. Iâm in Newcastle and just heard the accent. Donât hear it much on TH-cam
@@pig_cakes1368 Well weâll have to change that!
Omg the game not fully polished why are ppl hating
You should rather be asking, why you care so much? ðĪĶââïļ
Personally, I am looking forward to the game, and I intend to pre-order it, which is something I have never, ever done for an AC game until now.
I have wanted a Japanese setting for this franchise for over a decade now, and we are finally getting it, I really hope Ubisoft does not screw it up.
I hope we get Naoe in the outfit shown in the teaser trailer, which has a traditional beaked hood, snd is more angular in design with long sleeves. I don't like how her initial outfit does not have a beaked hood, which Ubisoft seems to be avoiding for some reason. It was the same issue with Basim's outfit in Mirage
I buying it. Meh
