@@kiplutu This is a summary of what the video said. It's not even my opinion. Is there a problem with summarising? Also, be my guest for liking something not respecting history. But I guess that's not what AC series has always been known for esp when they kept advertising for historical accuracy.
@@chrisdiokno5600 other asians? Why would I listen to asians about japanese culture? how about we skip the middle man and ask the japanese themselves? Lol what you trying to say dude?
@@OneOkRockSamurai I mean moreso like, how in Asian culture as a whole, like, Hollywood has kinda exaggerated the whole honor aspect. Or like say, how in the JP dub of Tsushima, they don't repeatedly call themselves samurai. th-cam.com/video/giBmzgW-iOk/w-d-xo.html Like I love Tsushima. Also, what I find interesting is that, for all his claims of honor, Lord Shimura seems to be a relative outlier, as almost every other noble character we meet isn't too adverse to underhanded tactics
Fully agreed, this game touches on more than just samurai culture if you are willing to engage in the many side missions it provides! I have played this game 8 times over across both PS4 and ps5 and still to this day I find moments that touch my soul in ways that I may not have understood without having a relation to beforehand, a genuine masterpiece of a game that touches on many emotions, hands down my favourite game of all time! !@@BozBundalo
What I also love about this game is that despite showing the Mongols as the primary antagonists, the game doesn't just kick them off the 'importance pedestal', and actually shows respect for the Mongolian culture as well. I absolutely loved reading and learning about so many of the Mongolian artifacts in the game. The developers respected both Japanese and Mongolian cultures. The Mongolians being the antagonists just so happens to be part of the historical setting. Sucker Punch did everything right with this game.
It was published in the island's newspapers before GoT release. 'Mysterious foreigners have repeatedly come to investigate' but due to the small local population, it did not lead to the discovery of the game's development. それは発売前に島の新聞に掲載され、「謎の外国人が何度も調査に来ている」と現地で話題になりましたが、現地の人口の少なさからゲーム開発の発覚にまでは至りませんでした
Ghost of Tsushima is a perfect example of how to honor a culture with such a rich history as Japan, while still offering a game that ANYONE can appreciate playing.
They didn't just honor Japanese culture, they also honored the Mongolians'. The numerous Mongolian artifacts and the information about them is a testament to that fact.
This game is less "cultural appropriation" and more "cultural APPRECIATION" This game shows how much time the developers spent researching Japanese culture and ideology to create a true masterpiece
Well, it’s authentic right. Nobody cares about accuracy when there is authenticity, passion, and soul put into work. Because when an artist put their soul into something, it has no choice but to show itself. When you look at AC shadows, not only is it inaccurate but it’s also inauthentic. On top of it it’s disingenuous. So you don’t feel any soul, passion or beauty when looking at it. After all, what is Art? Art to me is something that can show sorrow, passion, and beauty. Without those things, how can you call something Art? Really without beauty there is nothing. I think sorrow and beauty are two very important things when it comes to Art and relatability. Western games is lacking that in spades. When a game has sorrow, passion, and beauty. Then it has soul. Then it becomes relatable. The reason why Western AAA games are forgettable, and unrelatable these days it’s because it doesn’t have any of those elements. At least that is my theory.
@@The_Primary_Axiom you're ignoring the TH-camr main point since he STARTED talking about this situation You don't seem to understand with regards to Japan what he meant when he says that Ubisoft was disrespecting Japanese The way the civilians treated yasuke as a samurai The out of season cherry blossoms and harvest Even yasuke as a samurai And to say that was all based on historical records and done with cultural consultation? My English isn't good. I'm trying to be blunt to make up for it. What I'm saying is why tsushima is good and not shadow is because the atmosphere and design are all authentic and they did NOT lie about the story being historical fiction. Don't forget the rest of the world isn't Canada or the United States. Those two countries teach their school about leaving the UK and the colonial era, then 9 times out of ten they skip the Victorian era and jump right into the modern history of the industrial era. Every other part of the world learn about mythology, taught about folk literature and history and not just something they read in a children book. They learn about the middle ages, the Renaissance or in the case of most Oriental Asian countries the feudal era, then the Victorian and their industrial past. When you are shown a piece of media presenting your country and it's history both the authencity and WHAT it claims as fact or fiction matters. If it seems like I'm coming for your throat I apologize, that not the intent I'm just trying to be blunt and it may come off as rude. As an Asian immigrant in the west I'm just frustrated over how my ethnicity has been treated as a joke in western media over the past thirty years and how Ubisoft is continuing that chain
I had stop gaming in my life completely. I bought a ps4 just to be able to play that game. I now own a computer and gaming full time :( I think i will buy it again for steam.
Another amazing fact was after this game was released one of the real life shrine gates on Tsushima Island that was heavily damaged and they try to raise a crowdfunding campaign to repair it. and the amazing part was GOT fans all over the world actually helped raise nearly a quarter of a million dollars to get it restored.
The amount of research Sucker Punch did is astounding, they actually traveled to Tsushima to study the architecture, landscapes, and learn about the history and culture. I love this game and the developers have my respect, I can’t wait for the sequel.
I remember back when the game released, it was reported that some Japanese game developers were so surprised and envious, that foreign/American developers put more study and effort than any of their known fellow Japanese developers. If you can cause feelings of envy, that alone means such a craft was made with passion beyond belief. You can argue that some Japanese developers are capable of this too, such like the Biohazard series. Look at the original versus the remakes, and you'll see what I mean.
Wait, Japanese have some affiliation with appreciating the wind? Does that explain why some Japanese are drawn to be tourists and visit the Great Plains of the U.S.? Where the Tornadoes _(Wind Vortex / Wind Cyclones)_ are created every spring?
It can go both ways. I have seen Japanese media depict the West's history with more respect and attention to detail than a lot of Western media. What I think is happening here is that there will always be misconceptions and tropes in historical media that people are used to, kinda like how people complained about feathered dinosaurs in movies, and so developers, producers, artists, will often stick to these tropes that their own cultures know. A foreign culture on the other hand does not generally know or care about these tropes. Not always the case but in my experience you tend to get a different way of looking at your own history when it's told from an outside perspective. It has to come from a place of passion though.
@@brotherknight9484 yeah might be weird to see dinosaur with feathers but I wouldn't mind since realistically the closest living descendants they got were birds and chicken's and I also agree that not all of them should have feathers since reptile is also close descendants

It may just be an awkward translation. But since history can be very dark and brutal, I could see what they mean. The probably learned about all the barbaric things that happened in the invasion and put it the perspective of something similar happening in the future. @@--Traveler--
I am also Japanese (my family name is Shiwaku). I can't speak for all Japanese. But I will say that I feel a certain pride in knowing that there are folks who might not be Japanese, that fully appreciate the culture, as well as the understandings, and customs. Ghost of Tsushima represents to be, respect given from the outside inward. There is no hidden social-political preaching. There isn't some hidden agenda. It's 100% pure, unadulterated homage, in many respects. As such, I have enjoyed this game from beginning to end.
Some of my favorite parts of this game was after I was done climbing up to a shrine and seeing just the best view ever. Beautifully animated sunsets, and forests of pink and white blending together with the wind blowing over them. Such a gorgeous game.
The first time I played Ghost of Tsushima I opted for Japanese dialogue with English sub and it hit different when Khotun Khan first spoke because he was speaking Japanese. Maybe it sounds silly but it really hammers down that the Mongols had studied the Japanese, even learning their language, so it gives depths to the enemy and shows that they weren't just ruthless people but smart, well-organized, and strategical army. Not to mention the game is so, so beautiful I clocked in hundreds of hours because I often stopped just to enjoy the scenery. And sure, all the talk about honor did feel cliché from time to time, but everything else is just A++++. Great game, hope you continue playing it and enjoy it! I've been dying to see and know how an actual Japanese feel about this game.

This game has one of (if not THE) best openings in a video game history imho. Glad you decided to check it out. It is now out for PC, so I will be having a go at it myself some time soon too I hope :)
This is the most beautiful game I’ve ever played. My friend actually bought it for me for my birthday when it came out. He knows how obsessed with Samurai and Katana I am. (I have 3 Nihonto) I couldn’t believe this was a US made game when I looked up after finally finishing it. I need to play it again, I can’t remember if I played it through with English dialogue or Japanese.
I knew this was coming 😂 I knew the aftermath of ACShadows would bring everyone to boot up Ghost of Tsushima again! Amazing game, and much more faithful. It’s not perfect, but you can tell that the creators had so much more care and love for Japanese culture and the Kurosawa film style! I’m replaying it now as well haha
I've heard people say if you want to play a real samurai game to play this game, Ghost of Tsushima, and I actually got it a few days ago. I am having a blast! I love exploring the area and rescuing captured villagers! I don't consider myself good at combat (especially timing based) but I've gotten better and I love it and I always feel so cool when I fight and assassinate! The story and music are moving! I am so in love with it! I'm only 30 hours in, but Jin Sakai is so cool! A manly man! So I also enjoy when we find a new hotspring... 😊
@@esunablizzard6482 Haha! Awesome! Don’t forget that some of the best gear and charms in the game are found on Iki Island (DLC). You can play it as early as chapter 2 if you want, but warning: it will spoil the ending of the main game. 🥲
I can understand Jin's internal struggle with honor. He's fighting an enemy with a very different set of values. What's the use of warrior honor against an enemy who would invade just to take your land, resources and human hands to do menial work? The greatest honor here is to protect yourself, the survivors and fight back against the invaders. I really like how alive Tsushima is both naturally and spiritually. It's like both are one in the same which is truly amazing. Foxes lead you to Inari shrines and when you bow to the Kanon statue glowing green bugs fly around you. It was like Kanon was saying thank you.
@@IanJenn356094 The moral quandary was very important in some of the old samurai movies. I guess this game wanted to use it in Jin's character arc. In the movies the ninja job or a stance that lures your opponents in is dishonorable. A move of a coward. A movie that deals with this trope is "The Sword Of Doom." One of the best to be honest.
This game is the most authentic game ever made. Pure love and pure pasion for samurai culture. And so well acted and made over all. Do not think that we westerners do not understand Japan. We do and respect your culture and ethstesics very much. Thank you for giving me a play through with Japanese eyes. You can actually play the game in Japanese aswell
Glad you played this game as a reminder to everyone of how dramatically different it is from AC Shadows. I remembered Tsushima as being more "authentic" from when I played it long ago, but I'd forgotten much of the classic samurai movie cinematography, etc. Seeing it again right after the AC Shadows videos really emphasizes the huge difference between Sucker Punch's loving homage to Japanese culture and samurai movies versus Ubi's "yeah whatever, it looks Asian I guess" + forced Western sensibilities approach. Ubi wants to say the complaints are just about putting a black man in AC Shadows, but clearly it's not that, and this video emphasizes why Tsushima was so good and AC Shadows is just insulting.
The media in the West hated Ghost of Tsushima, ofc political reasons. I played GoT and currently have 80h and 60 achivements on Steam. One of the best games i've played. Cause the devs are actually gamers and huge fans of Kurosawa.
They even tried to cancel Cornelius Boots, a certified Shakuhachi Flute specialist for his stage performance in promotion for the game just because he wasn't Japanese. Nevermind his credentials or the fact, as already stated, he is certified to play it (since 2013).
Games weren't used to be political anyway gaming industry would shift if they continue to do that instead of games with storyline it would be games where u make ur own story
I’m sorry this is a blatant lie, your perspective on an honest reality is lost. You are talking about a minority no one listens to unless they seek to find it. Ghost of Tsushima was praised and even significantly won the player vote for GOTY.
Yeah Ghost of Tsushima wasn't also super accurate in all aspect, but it clearly more respectful to Japan's history and culture than AC Shadows will ever be.
One of the inaccuracies was including weapons from different time periods, despite the story all taking place in one time. But it's intentional - it doesn't break the story, and functions as a museum of historic Japanese weapons/technology. Not the same as getting seasons wrong with the rice + cherry blossoms. Or shrine gates as village entrances. And the fact that Ubi tries to have this vibe of moral superiority and being respectful to cultures. all talk, no walk.
The one thing I noticed besides what is already mentioned is that they, GoT’s dev team never said it’s “historical facts” and try to change written history to fit the false narrative
Don't stall yourself, this game is worth far more than your spite of AC I highly encourage you to buy, as soon as you are able too! You have a sequel to look forward to, as the developers just announced they'll be making a sequel game set 400 years in the future, in feudal Japan in the yotei region!
Happy to see that you are enjoying the game, Ghost of Tsushima is by far my favorite game. It looks amazing, the music is top tier and the story is chefs kiss :D I started to watch your videos after the Yasuke controversy and i'm really enjoying what you make :D
The raw emotion in the acting as well as respect for the Japanese culture is why I got hooked to this masterpiece I just finished the main story and I can’t believe how my much tears I shed for this game and made me just hate more what Ubisoft is doing I’m going to Japan in a thew months so I’m glad I can actually see your culture with my own eyes and yeah man Sucker punch are very respectful for actually visiting Tsushima to learn and create this with permission and respect
At least the American developer that made this did a better job than Ubisoft with ac shadows! Especially since this is the same developer who made sly cooper and the infamous series!
This is one of the best and most beautiful game i have ever played. Replayed it twice, first on the Ps4 and when I got the Ps5 for my kid, bought this game and played it with her. Then it just came out on steam so i bought it again for my PC and i am going thru it again. Never get tired playing this game.
I played it twice, once on Normal and the second time on Lethal+ and I did all of the multiplayer just so I could get every achievement for this amazing game. Truly a remarkable experience.
Please make more videos of you playing Ghost! As an American it’s good to be reassured of your like of ghost and your disdain of ac shadows. Good to see / hear opinion from the other side of the pond. I’ve enjoyed a couple of your videos so far. Great job!
I just hope you know that MOST Americans do not approve or want the new Assassin's Creed game. GoT was the last Western made game i bought and i don't have any plans on buying another anytime soon... As the Western Gaming and Media companies have been overrun with idealists that want nothing but to force their fanatical beliefs on others. Ruining things people have loved for years in the process. Japan is not alone with being disgusted by what they are trying to do to Assassin's Creed.
I’m glad to hear that. UBI doesn’t respect not only Japanese people but also the other Asian people. Even if UBI didn’t know Japanese culture well, they could know that there are four seasons in Japan…
Shohei I hope you keep going man I’m still on act 1 but I love this game. Ever since I started watching your channel & the shogunate I started learning more about miyamoto musashi and have gotten more into Japanese history. Love your content, ありがとう!
@@AltioraQuaeriteCH Because you urge people not to play it when it releases rather to stream GoT. I mean that's kind of a hate campaign. GoT had it's own approach to how the game plays so is shadows using its own game play approach. I mean dual protagonist, crowded cities, changing seasons, different combat styles for the same game is fun and entertaining. Though GoT being a good game did not offer you things such as crowded cities and others so why won't I play shadows which also offer something different?
I mean kinda telling the same outlets praising Shadows were the ones super mad about Ghost of Tsushima. Modern gaming journalism is a joke and they are not to be taken seriously, they're literally just mad that a game based in Japan isn't "diverse" enough. Same shit happened with Witcher 3, a game based on books largely based on Polish folklore and such, where they called it racist for having a solely white cast of characters regardless of context (Poland even today is like over 99% white). Can't stress enough how much I hate gaming journalists.
Hope modders up their game and start changing even npc and characters just to be more accurate 🤣 if they won't listen bcz of their political views hope gamers themselves would take it on their hands 🤣🤣
Also the same with Kingdom Come Deliverance. I think some even kind of tried to make it sound like the game director was a far right extremist. I think, specially with USA “journalists”, since people from other countries can’t sue them for defamation, they consider them fair game. They can throw any insult and get away from it if it means extra clicks and engagement.
@@Daniel__Nobre I mean genuinely if you were to list out all the stupid takes it would be an endless list, like how apparently RE5 is racist for featuring black zombies in a game based in Africa, guess Umbrella shoulda just imported some white zombies to shoot at. Or even recently with Stellar Blade, how they immediately spazzed out because Eve is attractive, but then a week later the exact same people start acting like massive simps over the Hades 2 characters. Again these people are not to be taken seriously, and like you said a lot is likely rage bait like everything Alyssa Mercante does, but a lot of them are genuinely just brainwashed political activists pandering to a group of similarly brainrotted people on twitter. Tbh nothing makes me more secure in my view on these things than seeing how whenever they do, rarely, engage with actual people who oppose their view, they can't have a discussion without massively mischaracterizing what the person said or literally just putting words in their mouth. A good example recently was Jim Sterling, who is now nothing more than a corporate shill and a trans activist imo, who tried to lambast a guy who had the very common sense take that men and women have different bone structures (talking against female characters being masculinized I believe), and completely mischaracterized his stance basically calling it phrenology, which is such a false comparison its baffling, like obviously we can identify sex in criminal investigations based on the skeleton, identifying gender is a far cry from trying to say someone is a criminal based on skull shape. But of course this doesn't fit their little narrative where a man or woman is just whatever the hell they feel like, so gotta mischaracterize it and act like men and woman don't have unique bone structures. Anyway sorry I know this is long but like I said can't stress enough how much I dislike journos and stuff like the above is why, and tbh idc if some people have opinions like this but there is no balance, no diversity where it counts which is in diversity of thought.
I’m only 7 minutes in and I hope you plan to make more episodes. Getting your insight is not only helpful to provide context but also provides a richness that many Americans who appreciate history, Japanese culture and film (namely Kurosawa) that we really cannot get anywhere else.
Ghost of Tsushima takes many liberties with history, like using more modern armour and weapon aesthetics than would've been normal at the time, and the developers have been forthcoming with this. A lot of it is just for fun, like how Jin fights, or to strengthen that connection people already have with the prevailing image of the Samurai, especially in the west. The idea was not to accurately represent history, but to pay homage to the idea of Japanese culture and history, in ways that the Japanese could find tasteful and respectful despite its many concessions for the sake of entertainment. If a Japanese gamer ever confused this game of being made by Japanese developers, I imagine it would've been the greatest compliment you could've given them for their efforts.
great to see you love this game. at first I was confused whether this game will be good or not cuz japanese theme game made by westners kinda sus. i saw reviews about how good it is and how the devs traveled to japan to view it themselves and many other things which increased my interest more and more in this game. Finally Tried it this year as it came to PC and I absolutely loved it, it is exactly the type of game I wanted to play so badly from so long. SAMURAI YAH!!!
I’m European and I’ve always loved feudal Japan and samurai history, and this game is my favorite video game of all time. I will always recommend this game!
This game is truly a masterpiece for me. Visuals are beautiful and the story is amazing. Sad that this is what Assassin's Creed Shadows could have been if only gave the culture and history the same respect that Sucker Punch did. Ubisoft didn't bother to give even a fraction of care/love that these developers did. Thank you Sucker Punch for an unforgettable game :) I hope you enjoy it as much as the fanbase did! Opening credit scene still gives me goosebumps lol
Tbh im glad that i found you, the enjoyment you get from playing is really nice to watch. Your Country has one of the most fascinating and beautiful Traditions and History. Keep it up my man.
Hi, I am from the UK and watched your critique on the upcoming Assassin's creed shadows and totally agree with you. But this game is totally different, it is really good to see you playing this game and how you feel about it, I love this game. You now have a new subscriber.
By far the best samurai game I’ve ever played in my life. They just had no idea how bad Western gaming would get at the time when they talked negative about ghost. Because you have to remember back then the bar was somewhat high now it’s at the floor. So now when you make a game that is decent people will think it’s great. If you make a game that is bad people will think it’s decent. That’s what happens when the bar gets really low. We had no idea how bad western AAA games would become back then. If we did, ghost of Tsushima would’ve been a masterpiece and work of art. Which it is.
Wind plays a very big part in the game and its DLC. The wind is supposed to represent Jin's father and his guidance, while the songbirds that tell you where open world activities are represent guidance from his mother; who instilled a love of music and art in her son. In that way, both his parents live on. You'll see that there is almost always wind everywhere, from a gentle breeze to massive storms over sprawling fields.
Ah you end on the best part, perfect! Opening title sequence gave me goosebumps (and others- watch YT reactions sometime, fun). Beautiful music and art. Music swells up as - exit the forest, birds fly up, u touch grass.
Ghost of Tsushima is a truely immersive and great experience. To me as a non-Japanese person, it never felt disrespectful to the Japanese culture and the way it tells you the story is non-disruptive and feels more natural. I decided to play it in Japanese with German subtitles to have an even more immersive experience. I cannot speak for Japanese people and culture in detail regarding the mistakes or flaws the game has (some people complained about Katanas in 13th century Japan. However, the Tachi was used around that time and it is quite similar to the Katana from what I read about it - I respect any correction if I am wrong :) ) but I think it appreciates the very long history and culture of Japan.
Funny you say the Japanese making Red Dead Redemption 2. The first game in the seies, Red Dead Revolver, used to be a Capcom property led by Yoshiki Okamoto with the American studio known as Angel Studios under his lead. The project ran into development issues, which resulted in Okamoto leaving the project and Rockstar Games buying the intellectual property and studio (Angel studios became Rockstar San Diego). Red Dead Revolver still has those Japanese elements in the final build, though they did scale back the comedy/silly tone it initially had. I think they were originally going to let your character fly around like a bird as well. Lol.
It was obvious from the get go, that Ghost of Tsushima was not only a better Japanese themed AC game but a better AC game in general. That game utilizes all of the best things about the older AC games and makes a well crafted newer version of it for the modern age of gaming. I know it’s not fair to compare it to AC and it should be rated on its own, but it’s very hard not to compare how GOOD Ghost of Tsushima is to Assassins Creed now.
38:00 Maaan, this is more then a revenge story. The prolog hits so hard when you see it again after eating the game. Also, would be cool to hear your oppinion on the japanese voice acting. It was mostly done by anime voice actors
I believe this is a truly wonderful game, showcasing a careful depiction of Japanese sentiments, ideas, and its appeal to the Japanese heart. We Japanese can sense that the creators of the game have a deep appreciation for classic Japanese films and have studied them thoroughly. I wish a certain French game company had created a game with this kind of thinking.
Literally reminds me of AC Shadow but being right in culture, tradition and history with little fiction because it needs to add something like action. How I wish AC Shadow should do this... Sadly they might not.
shadows took the art style, people bowing around when they see you etc from GoT and they made it 10x worse lol. And GoT took AC influenced stuff and made it 10x times better.
I have it on PC OMG GHOST OF TSUSHIMA is one of the best game I have ever play and wow the way it looks WOW !!! I have had and still having so much fun \o/
I played this game and know this is the shinobi experience I wanted. I even replayed it again in Kurosawa mode and still love it more. Even in Japanese dub.
This game also made me fall in love with the shakuhachi. I bought one about a month after i bought the game, and have been playing and practising ever since. Much love from scotland 👍
Love your honest and down-to earth take on it. However,..was kinda hoping you'd choose the Japanese audio. Love the voice acting in it. I am currently studying Japanese and this game has been my best companion. Some of the dialogues really gave me chills!
I am Japanese and I played this game as well. I was almost tearful during the introduction because it was made so beautifully. It captured what our former ancestor was like during those time. I have to be honest, this game reminded a lot of us the honor and duty. It seems like many modern Japanese has lost that in the modern age. This game did make me feel sadden and also pride because of it.
This is cultural **appreciation**. Also this video was awesome. I hope you continue this series and playthrough, I really enjoyed every minute of this.
Funny, when I first saw the bit in the opening when Jin rides through the open field with the one tree in the middle, I also said to myself "mono no aware..." xD it's sooo good
I grew up playing tenchu stealth assassins on the ps1. I've prayed for years for a modern version and along comes ghosts of tsushima. Absolutely fell in love with this game.
Tenchu: Stealth Assassins is why I got into PlayStation. I saw a commercial for the game and immediately went and bought it with some money I jad saved despite not having a PlayStation. I had to ask my parents to get me one (because I was 13 and broke), but they said it'd be for Christmas. I couldn't wait so I rented a PlayStation and played Tenchu non-stop 😂
I’m on my FOURTH play-through. Played the normal base game, NG+ and then directors cut version with the expansion story. Now I’m playing again from scratch. I love it so much. I decided to check TH-cam to see if there is anyone playing it for the first time and what a treat and honor to see a playthrough with someone so knowledgeable and can provide insight!

What's even more impressive is the island of tsushima made the directors of the game honorary ambassadors to their Island.
@@ladynikkie I forgot about that, it is impressive.

The first time I played Ghost of Tsushima I opted for Japanese dialogue with English sub and it hit different when Khotun Khan first spoke because he was speaking Japanese.
Realistically, there would be no struggle with honor. The Shinobi, aka ninja, was a accepted normal job position in the Samurai society.

Though GoT being a good game did not offer you things such as crowded cities and others so why won't I play shadows which also offer something different?

@@isahjabea7402 well said
I mean kinda telling the same outlets praising Shadows were the ones super mad about Ghost of Tsushima.
Yep I remember when they did this
They're jokes, not funny ones either
i'm playing it right now. learning alot about shintoism & japanese culture.
I’m only 7 minutes in and I hope you plan to make more episodes. Getting your insight is not only helpful to provide context but also provides a richness that many Americans who appreciate history, Japanese culture and film (namely Kurosawa) that we really cannot get anywhere else.
Seeing AC Shadows made me get this game, absolutely no regrets
I always heard this was a very good game, but I didn’t know it was that accurate ,after watching your video I’m gonna have to play this.
Trying to finish Sekiro then I’ll be playing this one next for the first time
I highly recommend this!
I played GoT for 90 hours and it’s amazing. Best fight system in a game.
That’s great. I’ve heard great things about this game. Very excited to try. Will you be doing a full let’s play I would definitely watch that
u got some balls!
I highly recommend THE hardest mode
@@deshidratar-metauranocircita it’s the only way to play it 👍 I recommend it to
great to see you love this game.
at first I was confused whether this game will be good or not cuz japanese theme game made by westners kinda sus.
i saw reviews about how good it is and how the devs traveled to japan to view it themselves and many other things which increased my interest more and more in this game.
Finally Tried it this year as it came to PC and I absolutely loved it, it is exactly the type of game I wanted to play so badly from so long. SAMURAI YAH!!!
The respect this game shows for japanese culture is amazing! I love this game so much. Oh, also, love your commentary while you play :)
Thank you!
I’m European and I’ve always loved feudal Japan and samurai history, and this game is my favorite video game of all time. I will always recommend this game!
Would love to see you keep playing this game. It really is a fantastic experience!
One of my favorite games ever played! I can't stop listening to the soundtrack from time to time because it's just so good!
I've said it before and I said it again - absolutely love watching you play games and give cultural context to them. Keep it up big dawg 👍
So much appreciation hence the directors become Ambassador for tourism of Tsushima, now that's how to make a game
Hi, I am from the UK and watched your critique on the upcoming Assassin's creed shadows and totally agree with you.
But this game is totally different, it is really good to see you playing this game and how you feel about it,
I love this game.

Music swells up as - exit the forest, birds fly up, u touch grass.
the whole Assassins Creed thing sure boosted your account, good for you, keep it up. We need more youtubers like you.

Maaan, this is more then a revenge story.
Thank you so much for sharing! I love this game and glad you did as well
When you walk through grass slowly Jin will slowly guide his hand through the grass.
If you continue playing this I'll watch your playthrough
What a great playthrough! I wish there are more japanese TH-camrs for english viewers...
Amazing video, i learned something new watching this. Glad you enjoyed the GOT, sadly We never got a sequel.
I played this game and know this is the shinobi experience I wanted. I even replayed it again in Kurosawa mode and still love it more. Even in Japanese dub.
This game also made me fall in love with the shakuhachi. I bought one about a month after i bought the game, and have been playing and practising ever since. Much love from scotland 👍
this game learns so much about life and honor. ac shadows will learn ppl whats diversity
I love experiencing your joy at playing this game. It is one of my all time favorites. Just absolutely beautiful from start to finish
Please finish this game it's a masterpiece. The opening title scene always gives me goosebumps.
Love your honest and down-to earth take on it. However,..was kinda hoping you'd choose the Japanese audio. Love the voice acting in it. I am currently studying Japanese and this game has been my best companion. Some of the dialogues really gave me chills!
I really love this game. I played it with the Japanese voice dub. So good.
One of my favorite games of all time. They did a killer job
Sunk about 100 hours into this game and absolutely love every minutes of it
I’m on my FOURTH play-through.
Thank you so much!
And they didn't even claim to be accurate, looks like they wanted to pay homage to Japan, i love Japan to so i understand what they tried to do, they did not try to put a damn kukojin in there for no reson, i love Japan ❤
Played it day one on ps4 and that intro is one of the best feelings ive had in a video game. The atmosphere, music and art direction are amazing.
Thank you for reviewing one of the games that truly feels like a cinematic masterpiece. Nice comparison with red dead like a western movie and this like a Japanese classic movie
This Game is 10/10 I recommend
Dude needs more subscribers I would dead watch a whole playthrough of this with you giving facts
Ghost of Tsushima was for me the AC: Japan that AC never did. When I heard that AC really made an attempt at Japan I was hyped of course. We all love the idead of ninja assassins. The way you go from Samurai to Shinobi in Ghost of Tsushima is just so perfectly made ... with the grapling hook and the whole outfit change before you sneak into the castle. It's just great...
