- Hey folks! In today’s video we’re back with more Gold Stake Balatro. In this run, I finally did it. I took the Ceremonial Dagger and, to my surprise, it ended up being… kind of okay. While it did cost a lot of money to keep rolling, an early Investment Tag on Green Deck provided a pretty decent bankroll to ensure my economy wasn’t completely drained. Enjoy the video!
Balatro is a poker roguelike deck building game centered around creating powerful synergies and winning with big hands. In it, you can combine valid poker hands with unique Jokers in order to create varied synergies and builds. Earn enough chips to beat blinds, including challenging boss blinds, to make it to the next ante and progress your run!

Oh yeah thinking of getting Cavendish off riff-raff, one run I had RR give me gros michel, it immediately died at the end of the blind, and RR gave me cavendish _next blind_
I legitimately think Ceremonial Dagger gets a lot of unnecessary flak. It's a good Joker to get flat mult going, and a way to just get rid of Jokers that don't sell for much.
You can eventually pivot off of it at later Antes, which is nice.
Real and true. You don’t need to keep investing into dagger once you get him to like 50~70+ any econ joker or riff raff literally turn Dagger into the best flat multi scaler in the game.

@@josephrogers3666 That does make sense. At the same time, that's probably why the Yellow Deck is really nice. Getting that extra cash + Interest can go a long way in keeping it fed, while still having a decent amount of money to work with.
All in all, it's far from the worst flat mult joker in the world. Could be worse.

Idk how it would work exactly but I think itd be really funny if jokers with some element of RNG were more likely to give you good outcomes when placed to the right of dagger
Maybe like adding an Oops All 6's effect on luck based jokers. Meaning Bloodstone hits all the time and Hallucination is slightly less unreliable, stuff like that
I actually love adding random seals to my deck if I’m just doing an unfocused high card/pair run. It gives you a lot of free tarot cards and can give you direction if you get a good red seal
You know, it actually makes sense that Ceremonial Dagger would be able to downplay the problem of Perishable Jokers. Just eat it when it expires instead of selling it off. Not really directly buffed by them like how Madness is buffed by Eternal Jokers, though.
Ceremonial Dagger is very entertaining to watch. Sometimes the silliest runs are the most entertaining

The worst part of the dagger is that you can't just park it on an eternal it HAS to actually destroy to activate.
Has anyone done brainstorm on a ceremonial dagger? Does it kill the joker on its right too?

It just gives the mult from the Dagger, not the joker destruction.

Nope. Madness works because the X Mult scale doesn't depend on it destroying a Joker - it just happens. Dagger destroys first, finds the sell value of what it destroyed, and applies it... but if it had nothing to destroy, it can't add anything.

You are kinda of wrong and not wrong. It's still a bad joker but it doesn't mean you can't make it works. I had a gold stake run which I ended with only the dagger and Joker Stencil.
I'd love to lend you those 28 hands, but you'd probably ask me where I got them from

can not post misinformation. the dagger is just the worst parts of madness and swashbuckler fused at least madness gives you a buff even when it doesn't eat a joker.
The only "wrong" thing about this video is choosing to play green deck in the first place :^)
