@@MidnightSky1821 I cannot recommend their last two albums enough (the earlier stuff isn't as much my style). False Idol is easily one of my top albums, every song is perfect. VOM is a sick band
Their entire discography is so good. Main difference from the newer stuff is the older stuff doesn’t have clean singing, but it’s so heavy.

The first time I know Veil of Maya was when they performed in Indonesia at 2015. They played about 5 songs if I'm not mistaken from Matriarch album and Mikasa is the best at that time. People sing the chorus while the song is playing. I took a selfie with Lukas Magyar after they performed, he approached the audience waiting backstage and he is one of the most talented vocalist that I ever know. Since then, I've been a huge fan of VoM.

I’d say my favorites so far are Born For One Thing,Viscera,and Sunny Days by Lari Basilio. Obviously this is gonna change especially with Evanescence’s and Gojira’s new albums and potential Lari Basilio,Dream Theater,Animals As Leaders,etc releases. But I can only think of those three songs so far that truly stand out.

Its not technically silent, it turns into an s sound. If it were silent, it would be as if it weren't there and the word would be like "vice-era"
But that's just some linguistic nerdiness from my linguistic degree that i dropped for a more lucrative medical.

@@MrTeathyme the reason the 'sc' is there and not just an s or c is so you get the short i sound and not the long i sound (i can't use phonic symbols when typing on my phone, but the ae dipthong sound).
English language does actually make sense like most languages do, but there are just so many more rules to it than most. The consonant rules when relating to vowel forms are some of the more complicated.

I fucking loved the Matriach album and never understood the hate, and never really got into False Idol, but this next album I think is gonna make me fall in love with them again. So melodic yet so disgustingly heavy!
