You know fatal push doesn’t work right against slicer since the cmc is still the same on both sides. If I’m wrong I will retract my statement. 😊 so slicer could keep the fun going, oh I found the rule!
709.1c A flip card’s color and mana cost don’t change if the permanent is flipped. Also, any changes to it by external effects will still apply.

Correct ruling but wrong citation. The actual rule for this is CR 712.8e. CR 709 currently handles split cards, with flip cards moved to CR 710, but even then flip cards are the ones like Erayo, Soratami Ascendant from original Kamigawa block.

Planar Chaos - New cEDH staple

I wonder if Sauron would be a good reanimator Commander. The first card that comes to my mind is Razaketh. They both have such great synergy. Someone casts a Swords to plowshares on Razaketh, you amass orcs 1 with sauron. On the stack, sacrifice the orc eith Razaketh to find a counterspell. Another example if people are in counterspell wars or opponets storming off, you can tutor like crazy on the stack. Sauron could possibly be a decent Doomsday pile commander too.
That dose sounds kinda cool.
If you can consistently use Ring temptation, literally any creature can crack Doomsday piles. Depending on how good stuff like the black enchantment that tempts you on upkeep is, Doomsday could see a big resurgence.
I could see that. It does depend on how well you can get the ring to tempt you. I expect there to be some more ring temptation stuff.
Mons could have saved everybody by using homeward path to retake control of slicer. Since twin flame, (unlike heat shimmer) can only target creatures you control, regaining control of slicer would have fizzled it.
EDIT: This might be incorrect. If I'm reading the comp rules correctly, a spell has to try to resolve to be negated by illegal targets. So even though Mons could blank the original Twinflame, it doesn't matter, because it's still on the stack for Dualcaster to target. My mistake was that I thought confirming targets was part of the state-based checks that occur whenever priority would pass.
your edit is correct it doesnt fizzle until it's trying to resolve so slicer going away doesnt affect the loop
We actually did that in the video ust for fun but I took it out becous it didn't have any effect and I didn't wanna drag out the video.
Slicer always has a CMC of 5

atm its just a forbidden tutor. it can sometimes be tough to close out the game so you need all the help you can get (:

How did he cast toxic deluge and wipe everything but did not pay life? Whats the rule, how does it work?

I'm a bit confused, how did the Sauroman player kill Ob Nixilis with Toxic Deluge? Ob Nixilis was a 13/12 if I'm reading it correctly, and the Sauromon player only had 3 life to pay.
There was some rewinding because the ob nixilis toughness was not what he thought it was. so the lifetotal had already been changed from the first payment of life to deluge (:
So there was enough life to play no worries!
He paid the 12 life to go from 15 to 3. He had to pay the life then hope it resolved through planar chaos.
@@Snuske10006 Gotcha, I understand now. I had thought he had been brought to 3 life from the Kederekt Parasite. Thanks for clearing that up!

Ob Nixilis would've had to announce Dualcaster Mage before allowing the planar chaos trigger to be placed on the stack, since he would've had to pass priority for the planar chaos trigger to go on the stack and wouldn't have received priority again until Twinflame resolved. He clearly said hold priority after passing priority, one of two big misplays in this one.
That is not how that works.
Once the planar chaos trigger resolves the active player gets priority with the next object on the stack. In this case the twinflame. then the active player is free to do anything at instant speed like casting dualcaster. perfectly legal play.
@@Snuske10006 Perhaps I chose my words poorly. I'm not saying that it was an illegal play, I'm saying the table talk was kind of inane. I just rewatched the part in question, and Ob Nix flipped for the planar trigger and then said he was holding priority. You see how that's not actually holding priority, right? If he had held priority, then he would've had 2 planar triggers to resolve together. Instead, he cast Twinflame, passed priority, resolved the planar chaos trigger, and then cast Dualcaster. I fail to see the step during which he "held" priority.
Edit: I just realized this was Ob Nix replying to me. Not trying to say you cheated, just pointing out that you did not, in fact, hold priority between those two casts. Imprecision is a pet peeve of mine, and Magic is all about precision.
@@aheroicdose I decided to embrace chaos honestly (: and let the planar chaos trigger resolve and then hold priority and cast dualcaster. it was for the content in all honesty ^^ the words in the clip might be misleading since we talked it over a bit and editing might have made it confusing ^^
