It doesn't matter that the current white owners of the land aren't actually the ones that stole it, they continue to benefit from the land their ancestors took... and their benefit continues to be at the expense of the descendants of the people that they took it from. There is a simple solution: Instead of being selfish and content to ignore the comparatively horrible living conditions of their black neighbors, they COULD have used their wealth to uplift their indigenous neighbors. They could have chosen to see 1994 as an opportunity to share some of what they had (however they got it) to ease the suffering of the people their system victimized... BUT they didn't. In America, FDR told the rich either invest some of your wealth in the people or lose all of it when the revolution comes... A strong economy, driven by foreign investment, with a clean and transparent government, creating new skilled jobs for these people to work in, is what is going to have the best chance of improving life for the average South African, not giving everybody 10 hectares of land tucked away in some obscure corner. The lady at 14:00 and her completely unrealistic expectations sums up this problem well, redistributing a few thousand farms worth of rural maize or cattle pastures is not going to get 40 million people flash new homes.
