Basically, Mattias will constantly use magic attacks. So to make the fight easier, use reflective veil on everyone. It reflects any magic attack used on your party, basically implying they are killing themselves. That’s how Ophilia never died. I even had Ophilia at level 26 and she never died.
@@higlydigly8153 You can make this more absurd. Have any Dancer in your party cast Sealticge's Seduction on Ophilia, so that Reflective Veil affects your entire party. Then have her fire off a Max Boost Reflective Veil. Boom, your entire party can reflect up to 4 magic attacks. If you're feeling brave, have your Cleric(preferably Ophilia, because the setup for this is very SP costly) cast Aelfric's Auspisces, so the Veil is doubled. Keep repeating this process until Mattias(and his goons) take themselves out.
I never once have two scholars in my team. Nice way for using the Alephan's Enlightenment. And the Hired Help! It costs money so I didn't know it's such a useful skill, too.
Bit late to the party but it's so helpful. A +2 Mercenary is a 3(sword) skill on all enemies, and gives a +6 Phys shield; for 150g. Having Tressa in the party finding "leaf" as you run around basically makes the skill pay for itself.

Have the other 2 party members(Alfyn makes this much easier) constantly volley these 2 BP boosting items so they can keep up this cycle. And voila, provided nothing goes horribly wrong, all of Mattias' attacks will bounce right back at him, dealing an approx. 15,600 damage a turn. Bonus points if you get him to break his own shield.
This game had incredible voice acting... Therion/Mattias and H'aanit I hadn't heard before, but loved. But when you think that Ahri from LoL and Scorpion from MK are also here, it's just mindblowing. And so good.
Funny thing: this fight could of been so much easier if you used primrose or another character with the dancer skill to use the dancer’s divine skill on Ophilia, then she could do reflective veil on everyone in case Mattias uses his magic spells.
I mean, I only had a couple divine skills for the characters I'd been using the whole game and this boss wasn't threatening. I just did reflective veil with her because it was her only meaningful way to contribute.

@junglechief87 He's either the easiest or the hardest, depending on how you deal damage and heal. Pretty sure he's the only boss that can cut off magic (besides Galdera), which includes more or less all elemental attacks and all healing skills. So for that reason he's kinda a noobtrap. He hits you with that debuff at the perfect time you're fckn dead.
i'm having some immense trouble with this boss, my party doesn't output enough damage in time to kill him before he starts using skills that stop me from using magic or before he starts summoning more enemies to protect himself
well i was able to beat the boss after i got two of the advanced classes(the sorcerer and the starseer) but before i had primrose as a scholar, olberic as a theif(primrose being the high magic damage and olberic being the high physical) then i had therion as a dancer so that he can distribute both buffs and debuffs and then ophelia as an apothecary as the main healer
I would have changed one of those secondary jobs to merchant. Merchant and Scholar are the best two base classes. I would say every class brings something to the table and they are all worth using but you should really always have a scholar and merchant.
I’ve lost 3 times to this guy-I did a little better each time, getting through three waves of summoned help, but not been able to finish him, though I did get some new ideas from this video. I still think some of the enemies in this game (boss and regular) are inappropriately powerful relative to the “danger level” of their area. I suppose they’re (somewhat) fair if you know a lot about every character and class, but I still think they need to be scaled down in places.
Pretty sure I had the Bow from the snake charmer, the most powerful is the battle-tested bow which I don't believe I had here. Fully boosted on a broken enemy shouldn't be too hard to break the damage cap at his point. Also pretty sure I'd used some of the permanent stat boosting items on H'aanit at his point. What do you have as her sub-class? That's pretty relevant for stats.
I used in my battle Cyrus(main hero) Ophelia, Tressa and H'aanit to defeat him, he was so piss easy to beat man, I didn't even died, all without secondary classes.
How do i even freaking beat this boss before he can use the infernal flame skill that prevents me from using Magic skills, it’s seriously starting to piss me off
Having 2 scholars for blizzard, and a hunter for leghold trap definitely helps. Boss tends to get 2 turns first after recovering from break. I beat him last night with Ophilia (Dancer) at 52, Therion (Merchant), Alfyn (Warrior) and Primrose (Scholar) at 47/48. I got wiped easily when my party 7 levels lower, so I explored/leveled for a bit then returned. Large soulstones helped me get through the first 2 rounds of summons, and reflective veil was a lifesaver in the second half. Having 2 dancers and no hunter made it harder on myself, I just didn't want to change my party up.
If you're still struggling / for others in that case, overuse Ophilia's Reflective Veil and Tressa / a Merchant's secondary to constantly feed her BPs. This boss basically can't touch you if you have a reflective veil up. I got Ophilia to learn the half BP cost from the merchant tree and the 25% chance replay from the Hunter tree. Once Ophilia used Aelfric enlightenment on herself, she gave 2 to 8 reflective veil to a member of the team each time she could play, with the extra BPs given by the merchant. It damages Mattias for like 6k5 when he AoEs you and everything gets reflected. Additionally, if you have reflective veils up when he summons the sorcerer, if a sorcerer uses a flame AoE on your team, it will reflect it on his head and HE'S WEAK TO ITS OWN MOVE TYPE (fire). Meaning he'll be in stun range (3 shields remaining) merely after attacking your team. Honestly this fight I barely attacked, I just waited for the boss to kill itself.
I know the feeling, but the game came out in 2018, so it is expected that people generally don't care or aren't careful about spoilers 5 years later ^^;

well i was able to beat the boss after i got two of the advanced classes(the sorcerer and the starseer) but before i had primrose as a scholar, olberic as a theif(primrose being the high magic damage and olberic being the high physical) then i had therion as a dancer so that he can distribute both buffs and debuffs and then ophelia as an apothecary as the main healer
Just spam reflective veil and the boss Will kill himself :D
This only took you 8 minutes ?! damn, I remember my boyfriend took hours for that battle, his strategy was to stall with Reflecting Veil xD
lmao did the same thing and just let him kill himself with his own attacks
Honestly I forgot who this guy was
What about Esmeralda?
wait, you found him the easiest of the final bosses?
I found him the hardest personally lol
Wait how were you dealing over 9999 damage with your divine skills?
Surpassing Power passive skill from Warrior.
Yeah, wait til you get runelord or warmaster as an advance job. They’ll be the ones to obliterate enemies, dealing over 9999 damage.
You don't need advanced jobs to break the damage cap, it's pretty easy with a good wand and Cyrus or the Hunter or Warriors divine skill.
how did u do 11,000+ with Haanit? I have her on the same level n I assume I got her the most powerful bow in the game but can never get above 6000
😭😭😭😭😭😭😭❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I used in my battle Cyrus(main hero) Ophelia, Tressa and H'aanit to defeat him, he was so piss easy to beat man, I didn't even died, all without secondary classes.
How do i even freaking beat this boss before he can use the infernal flame skill that prevents me from using Magic skills, it’s seriously starting to piss me off
Sorcerer job? (Shrine of the archmagus).
Sorcerer job.
Tressa annihilated him.
Lmao same
This vid is great and all but it really sucks to be spoiled so hard just from seeing the video title on the feed. 🙄. Shame!
I know the feeling, but the game came out in 2018, so it is expected that people generally don't care or aren't careful about spoilers 5 years later ^^;
Not gonna lie, your refusal to make tempo plays kinda made me cringe a little.
