I've just bought a 2004 (a 54 plate one) I had one many years ago and always regretted selling it. I have been looking for one for ages (for about 2 years) and I finally got "the one" this week. I am looking forward to working on it and spending time enjoying it. I have lots of trips planned for it!!
Hi James, great to hear you finally got hold of one. sadly mine finally gave up, not mechanical but the dreaded rust. I had it from new and clocked up over 200,000 miles with no issues. just keep servicing and they last for ever. What do you think about the new Jimny.
@@theDRONEguytv So far it is exactly the same as the one I sold all these years ago. It has the mechanical 2H-4H-4L gear selector and no intrusive electronics like all modern cars which I love!! It needs a new rear bumper as the plastic has been crushed. (£100 from eBay) a new off side plastic sill cover (£20 from eBay) and both of the rear wheel arch inner deflector / covers. Other than that at 32,000 miles there is nothing mechanical wrong with it. However the steel wheels need shot blasted and powder coated and I want 235/75 R15 tyres on it cause they look so cool 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Kevin, Thank you for posting this!! As a woman I find this very empowering!! Makes me not so afraid to try basic maintenance on my Subaru Tribeca now. Thanks again!! Bev
You know they only started making the JImny around 98/99.... ....i think you jumped suzuki by about 10 years LOL! I love my new jimny (well new to me anyway - mines an 05).
Hi Bev and thanks for the kid words. Im hoping to film some basic things to keep your car running smooth. Things like oil, filters, spark plugs and other bits that should give you even more confidence.
Makes me wish in a way I had not traded off my 1993 Chevy S-10 a few years back to get my current 2008 Subaru Tribeca, which is completely computer operated. The truck was much simpler to work on; but I needed the change after 15 years to better suit my girly accountant look, still cannot shake the Oklahoma cowgirl look. I look forward to new videos from you and TK42138! I also noticed that you bike, I am a recent addition to that rank also and have noticed your videos on that subject as well.
Hi every one ,,,,,does any body knows any footage of long distance travelling in JIMNY ,,,,,There are plenty of off roading and uphill competitions but not long distance travelling ,,,,cross country or through Europe,,,please give me reference or link thanks
Hi again Bev, yep me and mountain bikes go back a long way and I love nothing better than getting out and into the great countryside I have here at the moment. Im not from where Im living at te moment, Im from the south west, englands best coast line (cornwall). Youll have to email me and show me a pic of you and your car/bike. (Kevin@buxton1403.freeserve.co.uk) Who knows you may come over one day and it would be so sad if I didn’t recognise you ha ha Catch you later. Kevin x
