- Suzuki Jimny 4x4 Modified episode 19. Finally we have a Suzuki off-roader on Modified, this is one of the most requested vehicle so far!
Siani shows us her very capable Suzuki Jimny Sierra. This smaller size rig has been modded well for the tougher tracks.

Really nice to see a Jimny here, thx. A lot of people stick their nose in the air when you mention a zook but these little things 'WILL' run rings around anything else in the soft stuff. I know because i have one and it's brilliant. Having to snatch EVERYONE else who is up to their diffs stuck in mud does get a bit tedious after a while.
I love the 1.8 upgrade on this...very nice.
the cheapest 4x4 you can buy, ironically one of the most capable.

Not really, it cannot carry much of a load. It does not help much that it is light enough for muddy slopes.
That is a nonesensical claim. If you look for something lightweight and powerful, than you trully need 125kw+

Just started my Jimny overland build. Going no where as extreme as this, but it is going to Morocco next year. :D
Jimny is no underdog, Jimny is the best offroad. I rent them in Greece every year, still havent found a road that this car wouldnt scale..

When exactly did the Jimny reach "underdog" status? I remember guys drooling over these back in the '80s when high-lift Toyota pickups were all the rage because of their incredible capabilities.

A sift top sierra was my first rig, so much fun. Terrible on road though, but awesome offroad toy. Don't see many young chicks with modded 4wd's that's super cool.

Try to search about an amazing car brand UMM. They stop it production in 1994, but portuguese people still loving it. UMM are very popular in Portugal, France, Spain, Angola and Mozambique.

I've had 2 Jimnys. 2x 2001 model Mech trans, M-series motor, non-abs. One I drove from Uk to Mongolia in Mongol rally. Worthly sucessor to the sierra/samurai, very underrated. First 2 items on my wish list would be: Long range tank & replace radius arms (kept tearing bushings) Have seen a 5-link rear convo from china, nice idea suspect quality.

sweet ride!!!!! I like it, a mate has one and the only thing he doesn't like the limited distance he gets, we have carried spare fuel for him too. from Sydney to Cape York was a long way!!! the only thing I felt lacking is a external cage cause rolling one end over end would be rather easy!!!

I have just got one they so much fun I grew up going off roading in the old sjs samurais. And thy reallly are what made me fall in love with 4x4s and off roading and jimny jut as good I have a jeep Cherokee aswell but jimnys more fun

Really miss my J. Had a 2" lift and muddies and it went everywhere, more places that a lot heavier and more powerful 4b's.
These Zukis are very popular in my neck of the woods. So much that the resale is ridiculous on them. We have a lot of single track narrow trails where these do real well

I really like how capable some of these smaller 4x4s are. I'd love to own something like what she has. But, probably not as modified. I just don't know much about cars...

In the Himalayas logistics is not a problem. You can find everything you need in the next village even a tyre puncture shop. Problem is getting from point A to B. You need something light on the trails sticking to the side of a mountain. I have a Jimny which can outperform a heavy Landcruiser and its cousins.

What coils are in this thing ? Only off the shelf 4" ones I know of are Jimnybits, but these look a lot softer than those.

pedders has lift kits for Xtrail, is pretty hard to find mods for xtrails it is supposed to be a crossover outdoors car

I´d love to see a video about a unimog! Do you have them over there? They´re quite common here in germany and its afak the vehicle with the most flex and clearence you can find due to the construction of it´s frame and the portal axles! Would love to see one offroading in the austrailian terrain!!!

thats the most capable offroader youve reviewed so far, besides maybe the unimog. its is short, weighs pretty much nothing and wont sink in like a fat land cruiser, has crazy clearance and three lockers. you really cant top that

I remember hacking the gaurds out on this car when my mate owned it...just after HE had the engine swap done, lockers and 25% reduction from a auto tranfercase installed
