Left 4 Dead 2 is a single-player and multiplayer co-operative survival horror FPS game developed by Valve Corporation. It is the sequel to Left 4 Dead, it was first announced June 1st 2009 by Valve Corporation at Microsoft's E3 2009 press conference.
The sequel picks up one week after the events of the first game (four weeks after the first infection) where The Infection has spread to the southern United States. Left 4 Dead 2 introduces three new Special Infected, new weapons, melee weapons, new items, upgraded Infected, the Uncommon Common Infected, five new campaigns, and two new game modes: Scavenge Mode and Realism Mode. Realism Versus and Mutations were later released with the The Passing DLC, a new campaign which chronologically fits in as the second campaign out of six.
The four Survivors the players control are Nick, Ellis, Rochelle, and Coach.

I like how the designs of the characters are also fleshed out and not over the top like the ones in B4B, it really tells you that these four people came from different places and different lives that come together due to the circumstances. They feel like they actually exist.

I love how in L4D1 intro, they teach you about the special infected, the tank and the witch, basically everything major introduced with the first game, and in this intro, they teach you things like the charger, jockey, spitter and uncommon infected, which are genius since we see mudmen crawling, ceda agents standing on fire and clowns with their group of common infected behind them

I love how similar yet different this is from the first game.
They share the basics, but the way they were used makes L4D lean a bit more into the terror side, while L4D2 leans a bit more into the action side.
I think is great how Valve was able to make both games similar but still give each one their own identity

The "NOW PLAYING" message at the end makes this whole intro what it is, in my opinion.
It makes it feel as if the cinematic nature of this intro continues throughout the game.

What I love about L4D2 is it was meant to be old-school grade B zombie movie that you can play. And that's what makes the game so good

That’s what I love, too. I like to imagine that, what if L4D was a series of cheesy but fun to watch zombie movies, and then L4D2 was a reboot that came out a few years later after the last one and they’re just as good if not better than the original movies.
Left 4 Dead 1 is a big budget Hollywood horror film while Left 4 Dead 2 is a fan made B-movie in the same universe, and I love it for that.

i really like how nick is supposed to look like an asshole, yet in this intro he seems to help the survivors in trouble (nick getting the jockey of ellis' back, helping coach back up after getting knocked down by an explosion, and keeping nick away from the smoker) pretty realistic
Yeah Nick was basically the Han Solo type in that they are loners but over the course of the story begin they care about those around him and see the benefits of being in a group rather than face the evil by himself

Nick just seems like that type of dude. He's a prickly guy with an attitude, but he's also got a heart of gold, and would throw himself into the fire to pull you out. He's happy to have you around to help keep himself alive, but knows that he has to do the same for you, and actually cares

I love the shot composition. It makes it look like after the military drops the incendiary bombs, HAZMAT teams are sent in to clean up. But nope, it shows a close up of the guy and he's infected.
It tells so much about the lore (HAZMAT suits do not protect you from the virus) and shows off gameplay mechanics (some zombies are now fireproof) without saying a single word.

I like zombie games set in the initial outbreak until a couple months after the intial outbreak because it has a relatable vibe like police cars, military checkpoints, looted stores, etc.plants growing on sidewalks, cars, roads, and buildings usually can't get me immersed unless its like tlou or two video game.
same, when i first watched the intro, those zombies facial expressions were one of the things that stuck with me the most. like, it looks so human. idk how to put it into words properly, but most zombies just look like they’re rabid or something (probably because they are) but in that shot specifically they don’t look as rabid or insane or whatever, but instead angry, like, a human sort of angry. idk what i’m even talking about, but it’s creepy and i like it.

And the fact that she says the line in game in exactly the same situation of the trailer (when the survivors fuck up but are able to recover) shows how amazing Valve is
I just noticed a zombie tries to crawl away after being punched by Coach and then when Ellis gets grabbed, the zombie's face changes to shock after being cut with the chainsaw. Also, zombies on fire are trying to put themselves out.
This leads me to believe that, while infected with a deadly virus, the infected still retain some form of humanity before the infection completely takes over.
The zombies are just people who think other survivors are crazy.
If you read about it in the comic. The infected aren’t just brainless zombies. They see the other survivors as Monsters in their eyes. In their mind, they are just trying to survive while they are in their own little world.
I believe they're still alive. They're still as vulnerable as regular humans, explaining how they die so easily. Their minds have just been corrupted by the virus and so they can't control themselves beyond kill and eat.
I imagine that getting hit by coach would actually hurt a lot

This has and forever will be my favorite game intro of all time. Nothing tops to absolute hype, action, and nostalgia of this for me. I never skip this and even when I do I don't remember when I do because I always have it recited in my head.

Anyone else notice how impeccably clean Nick's suit is throughout the trailer? Guy travels across a quarter of America on foot through hordes of infected and miles of sewage and swamp and his suit is spotless and I can't go an hour in a white t-shirt without getting cheese dust and dirt on it.

I can't believe GabeN went as far as to create a virus to replicate a real zombie apocalypse for the new L4D. That's some commitment. No wonder why Half-Life 3 is taking so long, because aliens aren't easy to find.
They're establishing a military research base in the desert and hiring innocent scientists to kill off later with the military forces they also hired and experimenting with inter dimensional portals, to then cause a real life resonance cascade and FINALLY attracting the alien empire a few years later.
