  • Pedal problems on your spin/exercise, mountain or road bike? In this video we show you how to properly install pedals and fix problems like clicking, squeaking or even deal with a pedal that has stripped threads and fallen out. We demo the process on a Schwinn IC4 bike, but this advice works on all indoor exercise bikes like a Peloton or Sunny Health etc. as well.

    Thank you for this video. Our pedal broke off and I couldn’t figure out how to get the remaining piece out. Your video helped for me to remember that the left hand pedal is screwed in backwards.

    *Great **Latest.Bike** , good looking, good suspension and love the gearing. I've tested some bikes that were more then twice the price but not as good. Get lots of looks when riding.*

    Just started developing the pop/knock on the right pedal when standing under heavy loads. I chuckled when you said to adjust the strap. That was the first thing I did. I still checked the pedals and crank tightness. So I will find out tomorrow if the buckle was the culprit. Made the same noise when I tapped it.
    Also I always “reverse” thread first to seat the threads before tightening. I back it out, get the pop and then go forward.
    I just might take the pedals off just to put lithium on them. I have a whole can of it so….

    This is a great video and the solid gold is in the last minute because this is the #1 problem Schwinn IC's have for like 2 years! I have replayed that last part many times and I cannot make out the SIZE of socket wrench ("16 something??") that I need to tighten the crank arm nut. Better yet, if you have a link for the right socket wrench on amazon, even better!! I need to do this. Thanks so much!

    hi, so if i'm trying to recreate threading from opposite side of left crank arm do i still turn in same direction as i did when it was on the pedaling side. ie: still turn left as your video implies, correct? at about 13:30-13:50. thanks. appreciate the help.

    Can you replace the pedals with stock road bike pedals (such as Shimano clipless pedals)

    Great video very detailed but I have a doubt about your pedals the pedals come with a double click or you bought it separately

    It seems like they should include a small tube of grease with the bike? I was thinking lock tight too.

    I purchased a SUNNY sb1805 the pedals didn't have the red clips which would allow clipping in. I found the red clips on ebay. How do i install the red clips onto my pedals which are the jb304 pedals (same pedals as schwinn IC4) but schwinn has the red piece attached already. Thx

    Installing a pair of power meter pedals like Garmin or whatever would be pretty handy for swift etc don’t you think?

    Do you have any advice on replacement pedals for the Schwinn IC4? My right pedal broke as I was cycling. I've contacted the company but haven't had success. I've called-I've been on hold for an hour. I've emailed them and have not heard back. I used their comments under their website and no response:( Quite frustrating...

    Very good video. I have not received my bike yet. Do you suggest paying for an install? My husband is not very handy. How much do you think someone should charge in Canada to build and install the bike properly. thanks for the this great video. Looking forward to seeing your full review of the bike!

    blue thread lock is not permanent...red is. You can also use high grade teflon tape. (plumbers tape)

    • @dualincomenokids4712
      @dualincomenokids4712  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I never tried it, but agreed, I think plumbers tape would do a similar thing to greasing

    2:02 I don't think all pedals are the same! I believe different pedals and bikes use different size bolt diameters and thread sizes. I tried to upgrade my spin bike with a standard set of Shimano clipless pedals and they did not fit. Maybe check with the manufacturer of your bike on what upgraded pedals will fit it.

    • @bigbearcanada1
      @bigbearcanada1 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree. I have a Schwinn with weird oversized pedal axels that only fit the pedals that came with the bike. I cannot use my road clipless pedals. Very disappointing. Schwinn offered no solution and would not even answer my question.
