- I went creek fishing for trout and found a bait that they couldn't resist! I tried a bunch of different lures and bait but the trout weren't interested. I decided to try the EuroTackle Mummy Worm and the trout LOVED it! I paired the Mummy Worm with a tiny ice jig and float. I caught a bunch of rainbow trout! I kept some for my parents to eat and released the rest. It was a warm winter day around 45 degrees. The creek was low and crystal clear! This bait and technique is perfect for pressured fish. It's a finesse approach that looks natural. Give this technique and bait a try when the bite is tough. TROUT LOVE IT!

Gone in 15 minutes where I live.
I was down in Chicago and they had a small pond they just stock with trout and the fishermen were shoulder to shoulder and catching them one after another and you could tell they were having a great time to me that's money well spent by the DNR.
I just started fishing again and I love your channel, you are a true trout hunter.

Subscribed! I do a lot of fishing here on the Florida Gulf Coast all the way inland to Okeechobee. I love the up north small creek trout fishing and the underwater releases. Just the difference of environment, change in gear, and to see the fish biting in different climates and h20 temps is nice too 👍 quality in video as well.
Always enjoy your videos. Today 2/6/22 I caught my pb trout. It was 19.5 inches. Rainbow on 2 pink power eggs with a red honey worm wacky rigged. Used a small glow corky to make sure it floated well.
That was a great day of winter fishin . Its always funny how sometimes they just hang out lol

Thanks for sharing. They stock brookies here april first. Tried 3 times now...... today i finally had a little fellow strike a rooster tail spinner twice..... so far tried spinner and slip bobber..... ill be trying this trick tomorrow.

I have a few different trick that I learned over the years. I don’t fish opening day but most of the rest of the year. It’s amazing how many trout are left through the summer, fall and winter months.

Can't wait to go up to Mt. Whitney and fish the Kern River (in April). I think I'll try your setup with the Mummy Worms. Seems to work with the planted fish.
Wouldn't going up to the Kern in April be a little too early? I would think the spring run off would make it high and hard to fish. Been in the Sierra's a few times in June and some of the waters were still flowing pretty strong.

@@jessemellingeriii5244 Snowpack feeding the rivers is only 2/3 of normal this year. At my favorite reservoir, it’s a quarter mile hike from the boat ramp to the water.
@@ricksonora6656 Yep....I agree with you. I was just saying that if you don't live in the area and don't know about all the conditions that effect water levels and have to travel a ways to get there, you are better off waiting until after the spring runoff so you will have good water conditions to fish.
Two big go tos for me is a 7 inch leader with a size 6 or 4 or 1 baitholder hook. I tie a 7-inch leader with a baitholder hook and use a light rubber core weight so the line doesn't get damaged. I then use a soft 2 inch grub worm with trophy bass and fish crush it in pressured water. Also a drop shot with a 6 to 8 inch leader with a 3/0 light wire circle hook with a finess worm. Or a mullet colored shad with a nightcrawler by procure or trophy bass.
Going fishing in a stocked pond tomorrow or Sunday. Getting me psyched up!!!

Fishing under a bridge is usually a sure catch. Even a bere hook.
