11:45 - The lightning designer for Opeth, @magnusboyd6613, commented of the lightning on "Andrew Rooney Drums" reaction of this song and I quote him (go check out that vid as well and give your compliments to the guy whilst you are there: "How are the lights synced? I do it all live mate! Well, a lot is programmed, but rythmic figures and stabs are cued by tapping buttons - say as one would play a keyboard! Thanks for a fun video - and the compliment! Best regards, the lighting designer."
Opeth ❤In before FloridaBelles request of Coil/Heir Apparent as they go hand in hand from the album Watershed. On a personal note I'd recommend 'Blackwater Park' from 'Blackwater Park'.
I'd go with The Grand Conjuration off Ghost Reveries or perhaps something off their album Still Life. Godheads Lament is a fantastic song. Or like Donc said in the comments. Baying of the Hounds. Can't go wrong with that.
Song from each album to check out: Serenity Painted Death off Still Life Blackwater Park title track Master's Apprentice off Deliverance Closure off Damnation Beneath the mire off Ghost Reveries Coil/Heir Apparent off Watershed The Devils Orchard off Heritage Cusp of Eternity off Pale Communion Sorceress title track Charlatan off In Cauda Venenum §1 off The Last will and Testament Under The Weeping Moon off Orchid The Night and Silent Water off Morningrise Demon of the Fall off My Arms your hearse More live tracks off The Roundhouse tapes sound fantastic too. Also check out At The Gallows end by Candlemass with Mikael Akerfeldt
Oldpeth/Newpeth depends on the mood for me. The new stuff has it's moments and there are beautiful songs like "Faith in others", but for example the album "Sorceress" is one of my least favorites. But then again everybody has their own taste. I'd say, listen to the whole discography a few times and you'd probably pick a few songs from every album into your "Random, skip 100x times" playlist :D For next suggestions I'd like to recommend: Reverie/Harlequin Forest Deliverance Bleak Windowpane And I'd suggest listening to the studio version first. I love them live and they have one of the best mixes I've ever heard live, but still there are many nuances and stuff on the studio version that's missing live and sometimes don't bring over the full "feeling" of a song imho. Just as a tiny example: They use a lot of acoustic guitars in their tracks, which are live being emulated like they did here aswell but imho Ghost of perdition just sounds so more crisp when you hear the "silent part" with the 12 string playing on the record... Anyway /wallOfText Looking forward to more opeth and as always on Opeth reactions: Hi floridabelle 💐👋😄
🔥🔥❤Opeth❤🔥🔥 Subbing for more! Recommendations, in addition to the ones already mentioned: Hessian Peel The Grand Conjuratuon Leper Affinity. Old stuff, new stuff, it's hard to say since, to me, it's all Opeth. Sure, there are some tracks that aren't to my liking. If I had to pick my top 3 albums though, they would have to be Watershed, Still Life, and Ghost Reveries. They're mostly clean and growl vocals combined.
The Red Rocks performance is legendary. Then again most live performances at Red Rocks are. One of the few venues where you must bring your A game. First Avenue in Minneapolis (Prince's old club) falls into that category.
Old opeth is absolutely 100% better, but they’re dropping an album this Friday, I’ve heard it and it’s so fucking awesome! Better than heritage and sorceress. I say next song you should listen to is Moonlapse Vertigo I love that song so much.
I think you talk to much over the music and the video. I have no issue with inputs, since that is why we watch reactions, but please pause the music for the input
Regarding the lighting, because Opeth don't use a click track, there is no timed lighting (apart from some preprogrammed sections), it's all done manually on the lighting desk, normally by a chap by the name of Magnus 😊
Everyone who finally listens to Opeth has the same thought: "Why didn't I start on them sooner?"
All eras of opeth are top notch, early suggestions, forest of October, later ,the river .
And in Swedish or English.

Opeth is stunningly dark and beautiful. Super complex music.
It really doesn't matter the song you choose, it will always be awesome and different. Opeth is like that.
Welcome to Opeth. Prepare to be amazed! I really enjoyed your reaction. Cheers🤘🏻🇨🇦

Lol, thanks.
Sometimes I am 'here, there or everywhere', but don't always post.
I´m gonna suggest Bayiing of the Hounds, such a banger.
Yes!
Still Life would be good to start with.
"There we go"
Yup, here we GO.........

I would go with either Harlequin Forest or something off the Blackwater album (including the title track) for the next Opeth reaction.

Yeah I can see where you’re coming from there’s no problem doing it a little bit a lot of the time it’s hard to hear them speak when they do
