All NYCT Subway cars look beautiful when they're brand new... I remember when the R 46's were beautiful brand new back in the mid to late 70's... I also remember how beautiful brand new the R 160's were when I was qualifying on the equipment for the N line back in early 2007... I still enjoy operating them on the F line... Nearly 1700 cars of success... Unlike the R 179... yikes!
are those 6 dots angled on each side at the end the headlight LEDs? Love these Kawasakis. Are these finished at the Yonkers, NY factory? can't wait to ride them!
Just several years back, the 7k series was revealed and put to testing on the WMATA tracks. The coincidence is that both were made by the same company Kawasaki
And the 7K cars there look similar to the R160s (another Kawasaki product, though it was a joint venture with Alstom) as well. Looks like other cities in the US are learning from NYC, though all US cities are behind compared to the rest of the world.
I like it. But they seriously have to move on from the same design since the 2000s especially when the windows have gotten smaller on these. I'll still be waiting for the plug doors on future trains so we don't get smaller windows.
I rlly am happy for the R211A and its Beautiful tho (my opinion) I like the R179 abit more better than the R211's Plus its a subway version of the M9. Tho i like it
Doesnt look so sleek like the mock-up design. Thats more likea bmw car. This one is like ehhh and where is the interconnected ganway they promise. I hate when you trying to move from another car witjout exiting and worrying the door will shut on you and you didn’t make it.
The M9S are gonna definitely replacing all the M3s on the long island Rail Road. The R211as/TS are replacing all the R46s/44s. The M9AS will be replacing all the M3AS on the Metro North railroad. The R262/as will be replacing all the R62AS R62S for the A devisin s for the IRT lines and the R211as/TS will replacing all R46/R44s for the B decisions.
Omg, IT'S BEAUTIFUL
I know, right??? I cant wait for the day they enter service!!!!!
Omg it is so pretty and gorgeous

They didn’t build the Open Gangway train cars yet. Those take a little longer to build compared to these closed ended trains.
About goddamn time they got here
Too bad it will be run on the most disgusting subway system on earth
R46 : it looks so stupid
R160: He Looks Adorable
