We lived in a crime ridden apartment complex. One day, a guy accused us of crashing into a brand new car. We had damage on our truck, but explained it'd been there awhile, after my husband hit a barrier in a gas station parking lot, NOT caused by hitting a car & we'd been inside all day. After showing the cop the rust & yellow paint from the barrier, he relented & told us the guy blamed us, guessing he was trying to get his damage fixed. The funny part? They found out HIS car was involved in a hit & run. I guess blaming us would get his fixed & throw suspicion off him. The joke was on him when they came back to arrest him a few days later.
I'm sure it depends on the location, too. But as a gauge, a friend of mine was offered $35k for a manager position at a retail store when the minimum wage was $14/hr or around there, which full time would be $29k, and I think at that time a 1br/1ba rent was around $1100 or a single family house cost about $1.1m. Actually $65k sounds high to me.

Its sad because I like the job and the people I work with but I know I'll have to leave because they definitely won't want to pay me what I'm worth when I'll ask for it. I live in an area where most people are very non-confrontational so they let the bosses choose their salary and they don't argue with it.
Depending on the income of the company the district manager legally should have looked at how much was owed then adjusted cost to the store according to pay what is owed. If you don't then it is the same as having a creditor you owe just with a different interest rate. That's why your pay day and pay period is spelled out in your employee agreement or employee contract. Not paying is not a legal option. For how the store was run i am surprised the manager was not put taken to task and having everything they did looked over to see what is where and when is the most money being made after cost of the services and products used is taken out. After a few weeks it will be apparent where more staff is needed and when less is needed going by the numbers. Never changing is bad more so when the revenue of the store is going down. The part i am wondering about is did the next store owner do better?

I work at a pizza place family owned and my boss recently went to bat against a crazy lady she berated a cashier to the point where my boss had to stop making pizzas and filling orders. (He does this to keep employee moral up and he does it everyday in fact the only time he’s in his office is when he is ordering food ingredients that office is otherwise filled with employee shirts and work stuff.) Anyway he basically handled the situation got the camera footage to his dad and my uncle and a case is being made. Still ongoing I’ll repost if I get any updates to you.
That first story is now the third version of the same story. Seems like whoever wrote it keeps changing it. The location changes, the victim changes, but the plot stays the same.
"We have half the staff but the same number of customers" is the PERFECT excuse for why it takes longer to fill orders. I believe the phrase "that's no excuse" is meaningless tripe for assholes who don't want to do their own work.

In the last story, I'm a little surprised by the manager's salary too. It seems like his bosses were pressuring him to wring more money out of his stores just so that _they_ would make more money. They were probably dangling a fat bonus over his head too, while setting him up to eventually fail by pushing him to meet impossible metrics. Basically the same con he was running on OP. Yet when it all goes to hell, it's his ass that ends up on the line. Goes to show how much those at the top have been squeezing out of all of us and making us turn on each other just to survive.
It depends on when the story took place, with if you factor in inflation if this story happened in the early to mid 2000s for example, then that would be the equivalent of a 6 figure salary today.
Wow, that last story reminded me of a time we were on the other end of someone abandoning a restaurant. I worked at a little retail store which sold beauty products and novelty items, and there was a burger joint next door. One day, we started smelling something really awful, and we thought there must be a dead rat somewhere. We called corporate, and they sent pest control, but they couldn't find anything in our walls, ceiling, or basement. A couple days passed, and the smell was unbearable. We were burning candles, incense, and essential oils nonstop, and it did nothing. Our district manager did some investigating, and it turns out the burger place next door had closed down, and not cleaned anything. They left meat out, burgers on the grill, the whole nine. Then our company spent days arguing with the owners of the burger place, trying to get them to pay for cleanup. Meanwhile, we were still working in the store, having to explain to every customer what "that smell" was. And our company finally did bring in a professional cleaning crew to deal with it. The cleaning crew brought over coffee grounds and chafing dish heaters which actually cut through the smell. They told us that's what they use to help with the smell of *cadavers.* It all got cleaned up, and we went back to business as usual. A bit anti-climactic, but when you leave rotting meat out, you're not just hurting your bosses.
not to mention that if they had left everything On, it could have burned down and maybe the whole neighborhood. i've seen _small_ grease fires... i would not like to imagine what a Whole Grill n Fryer would be like. 0,o
Man that speaker story reminds me of what my dad did back in the early 2000's. Mom and dad were huge metalheads, she worked with the Government and dad was in Construction, we got an apartment around 05 when I was 8, and the neighbors were a nuisance even being next-door their stomping from lack of picking up feet and talking almost in a yelling manner, playing the TV and Radio loud (it was rap, my dad isn't a fan), he'd asked if they'd keep it down, they said sure, but in reality he increased the amount of sounds, and even started being loud af after hours, so finally he'd had enough after 2 months, & dad updated his system from a boombox to a stereo with speakers taller than me, 4 speaker boxes the 2 largest having around 8 speakers and the 2 smallest around 5 with a base the size of the radio itself, all stereo parts were between 4-6 feet in height, large beautiful system, got a lucky find, the neighbors on the other hand weren't pleased when their pictures and items on shelves started vibrating off the wall, a week goes by and because my dad played in the hours allowed we didn't face trouble, but the neighbor stopped being a douche. I should note this was around when "Insight" used to still be a thing in our area before it became known as "Spectrum" and the only music my mom played was thru a tv in her room via music channels and I used my portable CD player or cassette player, dad's boombox was just used at work and brought home at the end of his shift, he'd decided to use it until getting the huge stereo. Man, I miss that stereo, I can't lie nor deny, never seen one like it since. 🤣
If you don't have a dashcam, get one. It will still be a coinflip if the police/judge believes your footage or their story, but it at least improves your odds.
I've posted about this before but noise wars make me smile. Had an older divorced dad and two teenage daughters move in above us (a house converted into 3 apartments). I don't know if they were skipping, home schooled or drop outs. Anyway about a month after they moved in they broke out a Walmart home stereo with the worst sound quality ever. They'd play it so loud you could hear the speakers breaking up through the floor. One afternoon I'd had enough so I dropped a Slayer CD into my deck, picked one song and set it to repeat and turned the 250watt stereo I owned to 3/4 volume and then went to run errands, visit friends at 7-11, I was gone a couple hours. Got home turned off Slayer to dead silence. They never played their crap loud again.
The last story: you’d be surprised (or maybe not) at how much companies will underpay even those higher on the food chain. My old manager was also the area manager in the library system. They oversaw 15 different libraries and had to be on call at all times. What were they paid? When I quit last month they’d just gotten a raise and were making $39k. It’s also important to note we live in a *very* wealthy area and this person had to have 2 roommates to pay rent.
First story: I heard this one before, what this Karen forgot to do was take out the lever from the reverse. Stories like these is why dashcams were invented.
When I lived in my second apartment, I had neighbors who played their stereo on blast til early hours of the morning. I am a teacher, go to bed around 11, get up at 6. I asked nicely several times for them to turn down the music after 10. Called the police a couple times, which only resulted in the music down for an hour or so, after they showed up 3 hours later. Even reported to the landlord, who tried to help, but they couldn't sit outside and monitor them every night. (Definitely in the time before widespread security aps). So one day, after they had been partying late and it was the weekend, I took my speakers, set them against the wall we shared, set Hanson's MMMbop on repeat, turned the volume way up, then left to do errands for several hours. They met me on the walk when I came home and said...if you don't do it again, we won't. They lived up to their word.
I also have a noisy neighbour, i always have to tell him to shut up. He plays live music, and sings, at like 3am sometimes. I shout at him to shut up, and he plays music louder. So I wait untill its nice and quiet, and start using powertools. Oh sorry mate, my shelf fell down at 5am and i needed to fix it. -_-
12:24 "Oh, you mean I don't just get the satisfaction of ruining today for you? I get the entire week? I guess it's not so fun when the shoe's on the other foot now is it?"
My dashcam saved me in a story like the first one except we were going down the road and this guy swerved around me and slammed on his brakes throwing his door open. I took the door off of his car with my brush guard and stopped at the gas station at the next intersection (safest place to stop), he called the cops saying I was trying to hit him and kill him. Like 12 squad cars showed up and I just played the video, he was arrested for filing a false report, road rage, and something else about insurance or license. I've had a dashcam ever since.
The Indian housemate story is soooo relevant to me, I left uni 10 years ago with a sleep pattern that has never recovered and my mental health shattered because he turned his room into party central, he made multiple keys and shared them with all his friends and just slept at his friends houses, I was lucky to get 30 minutes sleep a DAY so had to retake my entire year as I skipped lectures. The destroyed sleep pattern is that now my brain treats sleep as I need to sleep the second my eyes are closed and never wake and sleep through anything, honestly one time I slept through a gas explosion in the abandoned bar across the road from me and another time through fire alarm that woke the entire block.
I heard the 1st story before a few months ago from another channel BUT, it's just so damn genuis by the OP I just have to listen again with satisfaction.. 😊
I also used to work as an assistant manager at Wendy's, but in the late 90's and I'm not surprised at all how this guy was treated. My "salary" back then was a whopping 18K a year for being responsible for a crew of 7 or 8 people. Every time I asked about more money I was told I was lucky I was a "manager" and that the store salary cap had been met, so no matter what I did in that store I'd never make more money. My GM was a great lady, but the franchise itself was pretty cheap.
Yeah they sure loved being able to throw the "your lucky we pay you at all" line and it's many variants at people back then didn't they, now look at where that attitude has got them.
The first story is why I push to get anyone I know to buy a front and back camera for their cars. I even have like 4 spares I bought on a sale and anytime my younger cousins get cars, I gift them with dash cams with all the bell and whistles. This is because my Distant Uncle who I really like was put into a situation like OP and was forced to payout something like 1-2k out of pocket (even with insurance). People like the lady in that story are some of the most deplorable people on this planet.
This is why I have a dash cam. When you are in a deck DO NOT TELL ANYONE YOU HAVE A DASHCAM. This gives the other people the opportunity to screw themselves over as much as possible by lying because they don't realize that it was caught on camera. If lawyers got involved that's the point when you reveal the dash cam.
When I was at University, early 2000's, the person in the next dormitory block played ONE song on full blast on repeat from around 6pm to 6am (I think they left it on when they went out). The song was "Kiss Kiss" by Tarkan (later used by Shakira in one of her songs). Everyone in my dormitory (around 40 students) and his dormitory (Men where on the first two floors and the women were on the upper two) were p!ssed and complained to the University every time it was on. Half way through the year he was made to leave the dormitory.
The story was in the '90s if I recall correctly. I don't think dashcams were as prominent or as cheap as they are now. But yea, everyone should have a dashcam nowadays. They are pretty inexpensive now even with professional installation.
@@GregNixon, Oh I know! I bought my first one 2 years ago on Amazon. Front and rear facing with a 2-year protection plan for under $200. And I guess it's a thing in the UK that if you have a dashcam, you can also get lower insurance rates.
I still do not understand how stupid these people can be to mess with complete strangers. There is a reason why our parents told us to not talk with strangers or accept any handouts from them. That they can be dangerous. So what was this Karen in the first story going to do if, -IF- (not that he would, but if) the guy walked back to his vehicle and actually brought back a tire iron to vent his rage? What if he broke in before the cops showed up? You know, I still remember listening to rSlash tell the story of that homeowner who shot and killed the leaders of his HOA for taking his home. Fucking with the wrong people happens and is more probable when you know nothing about them.
Had an accident where the lady tried to blame me. I was turning into school one morning (left turn), then boom I was hit by a lady turning left out of the school. She tried to blame me saying she couldn't see me. Well much to my luck our school had multiple cameras watching the parking lot and football field, they caught the whole thing. My lights were on, turn signal on well before the turn, and my favorite I had been stopped infront of her for 3 and a half seconds. Luckily I didn't have to go to the hearing, but from what I've heard she had to pay a fine, get marks on her license, 2 tickets, and she had lost her insurance due to multiple at fault accidents.
so you weren't her first time of pulling that schtick. it usually takes a lot more than one incident for most insurances to be willing to lose that money coming in.
I work in a deli, we also have to deal with only 1/3 of the normal staff for closing, The GM and the DM constantly tell us to work harder and stop slacking and getting over time. So we started documenting everything we do and leave exactly when scheduled every night. They stopped threatening to write us up after two weeks. No, they never followed through with those threats either.
For the loud music revenge story, I had the same problem with my neighbors...but they're spanish. Now I have nothing against them...except for every major holiday, they'd all get together (3 spanish families on my apartment floor) inviting friends and party till like 3am -5am, most times getting drunk enough to have fights and the police would get called. This stopped like a few years back. But nowadays, we contend with the fact the kids run around and play in the hallway (most times loudly and kicking balls)...TOTALLY UNSUPERVISED! This is dangerous cuz I live on the top floor of my building, so these kids could be hurt in any way and with no one watching them, god only knows what could happen to them.
Yeah, little known fact is that the profit margins in the restaurant industry are razor thin - they make a lot of money, but then the cost of wages for all the employees, the food and other expenses, taxes and complying with all the government regulations, and there's only so much money left for the person running everything. This even extends to the top - the people at the top of McDonald's are millionaires, not billionaires, and aren't even close. It just isn't a super profitable industry.
After you finished your story about Wendy's, I immediately got an ad for Wendy's, which brought me great amusement. I figured I would share because of how much it made me laugh, maybe it will make somebody else laugh too.
Ya the first story happened to me. Guy was in a truck and then went in reverse just before Christmas last year in 2021. All the damage to my car was a hole in the bumper and a torn lisence plate. Didn't call the cops or anything. I didn't even report it to insurance because it was the holiday and finding an open shop would be basically impossible for a quote. The damage was superficial so I just let it slide and got a new plate and frame and it covers the hole anyhow. Concider it a christmas gift to the guy lol
Last story: Wendy's run similar to many of our retail shops like the "cheaper" shops A manager earns money based performance or basically.....if the higher "likes" them. It used to be before a certain time period the job was set in stone but as you know big bosses want to safe money and more work
The last story (Wendy's)....smh You HAVE TO KNOW the employment laws for your state! You can't complain about the rules when you never bothered to read the rules. Stop waiting for someone to tell you. Learn the policies and/or law and then make your own decisions.
I watch your videos everyday. It makes my day. I am pretty sure you have covered all of these stories before or maybe I have read all of these stories on instagram reddit pages. Whatever the case Keep doing what you do, I love listening to these stories when I am doing other work.

BUY. A. DASHCAM! And get a good one. $150 will get you a good camera, with two units, one you can mount in the front windshield and one which you can mount in the back windshield. $150 might seem like too much when you see some dashcams for $30 or so, but this is something upon which your freedom could depend! Can you imagine if the cops had believed that girl's story in the first section of this video?! That guy might be in jail for assault! $150 is WELL worth it!
had someone start backing toward me from a red light and I honked and pointed at my dashcam, and the person literally stopped and then shot forward and ran the red light, like running away is going to get rid of the fact that my dashcam had their license plate clearly in the video it had been recording.
Please note guys: Cops are crooked, and they might not always do the right thing, so dash cams ARE important. However, backing up into someone leaves evidence and a good investigator will know the difference. My dad dealt with this once as an officer, before civilian dash cams were a thing, and they were able to prove that the car did in fact back into the other one. Get a dash cam, but hope is not lost if you don't.

Something people don't really seem to realize is that District Managers really do not make that much money. Most of them really do make around the 60k mark
When I was around 13 I saw a female driver park in a area that is not just meant for buses only but a circle, also she was parked on the actual driving part so no vehicles could pull out, she parked there for a few minutes whist buses were trying to leave, and eventually when SHE was ready rather than drive a few seconds forward onto the road, she REVERSED right into a car that was pulling out of a parking spot, the first thing she did which I witnessed was literally puff up her chest to look "big" and adjust her hair and look at her face in her little make up mirror and when the male driver came up and bear in mind its been over 20 years at this point so not word for word but basically told him he should let the damage slide and in fact tried convincing him it was HIS fault and to be nice he should pay for her damage, and when the Police arrived she put on fake tears saying she would struggle to get home and the Police treated the man as if he was a major criminal.
Never work too hard on a skeleton crew because it gives your company the idea it’s sustainable and they’ll find a way to discredit your work no matter what.
If he'd rear-ended her, her car would have been pushed at least partway past the stop sign... right? There would have been tire marks, too, I should think.

I love how there’s always a new video ready every morning! Usually the first thing I listen to while getting ready
Agreed! 👍
It is the morning for me too. But usually I wait until the night time or during the day when I’m at school If I watch it at school it is during art. And if I watch it at home it is usually when I’m going to bed. I always have to watch a video of r slash to fall asleep. So usually if I watch one of his videos in art I have to end up watching one of his super old videos. It is so hard to find a video I have not watched sometimes usually I have to watch a video I have already watched
Everyday 6 A.M., it’s a scheduled post, he’ll upload at night and have it scheduled to show up, many TH-camrs do this in premiere formats where it will be in livestream form and the TH-camrs will interact as the scheduled vid drops, it’s like honestly like the coolest little addition TH-cam has made, it’s better for TH-camrs but noticing the up in quality and well and consistent uploads across TH-cam was cool when it was added a while ago
This and fake Jake
Yeah where I live it pops up at 2pm, so I always have a video to come home to after school at 3pm
I love how Judge Judy can sniff out a lie. She was probably berating the plaintiff too.
I kinda want to see that one my grandma watched Judge Judy all the time when I was growing up.
What was the episode? Or is the clip on youtube
I have not been able to find that clip at all
What episode?
I'm not exactly sure, but there is a Judge Judy channel with tons of clips on it. Might be worth taking a look. It's being over a year since I made this comment.

As a former McDonald's employee, that last story filled me with absolute joy. Never work for fast food, folks, it's not worth it.
I work at a pizza place family owned and my boss recently went to bat against a crazy lady she berated a cashier to the point where my boss had to stop making pizzas and filling orders. (He does this to keep employee moral up and he does it everyday in fact the only time he’s in his office is when he is ordering food ingredients that office is otherwise filled with employee shirts and work stuff.)
Anyway he basically handled the situation got the camera footage to his dad and my uncle and a case is being made. Still ongoing I’ll repost if I get any updates to you.
That first story is now the third version of the same story. Seems like whoever wrote it keeps changing it. The location changes, the victim changes, but the plot stays the same.
I've heard the same story 3 or 4 times and it's always the same. Do you mean on reddit?

Unfortunately having worked shifts like that before, it is normal for crews in that time slot to get shafted like that.

No matter who tells the first story, it's still entertaining 😂 that lady goofed with the wrong person.
You haven't seen my stereo. 😎

The first story is why I advocate getting a dash cam.
These videos are a good way to start the day
I can imagine Judge Judy's response to the gas station video.
"You're an idiot. We're done here. 😑"
What was the name of the ep?
🤣🤣🤣👌... fire with fire.
I wanna know the outcome, as I wish more people talked about this story. Shame.
This is exactly why i purchased a dash cam that records the front and rear of the vehicle.
Prorevenge is so satisfying.
That first story is exactly why I have a dash cam. At least we know how that woman got the money for her new car...
First story reminds me of a quote from Christopher Titus “your honor can you give me five minutes to make this woman not a liar?”
I heard the 1st story before a few months ago from another channel BUT, it's just so damn genuis by the OP I just have to listen again with satisfaction.. 😊
Guy in the truck: You fool! You absolute buffoon! You challenge me in my own realm!🤣
That first story is why I’m glad I have a dashcam with a mic
And the academy award for best actor goes to... OP! RealSailorJim! Genius, absolute genius!
I’ve honestly started hearing Rslash’s karen voice when I read about them in /r/prorevenge and /r/entitledparents
That insurance fraud attempt is the reason I have a dashcam front and back in my car. Everyone should have at least a front mounted one.
It should honestly be a legal requirement, with hefty penalties if you don't have it when in an accident
In the first story, OP, you need to get a dashcam!
The lesson of the first story is always invest in a dash cam. I know when I get myself a car or truck I'm going to
I still do not understand how stupid these people can be to mess with complete strangers.
Wow, That first one was a litteral case of "Check yourself, before you wreak yourself".
I absolutely love the guy torturing his rude neighbor than being nice and giving him an AC unit, which are pretty expensive for a student.
I think this statement fits both stories in this video "play stupid games, win stupid prizes"
Damn, the fast thinking of the guy in the first post. I'd have been too shocked to think of that one.
That first story 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 he was brilliant
The six figure assumption made me laugh.
Last story: Wendy's run similar to many of our retail shops like the "cheaper" shops
A manager earns money based performance or basically.....if the higher "likes" them. It used to be before a certain time period the job was set in stone but as you know big bosses want to safe money and more work
The last story (Wendy's)....smh
You HAVE TO KNOW the employment laws for your state! You can't complain about the rules when you never bothered to read the rules.
Stop waiting for someone to tell you. Learn the policies and/or law and then make your own decisions.
I really hoped the third story would have ended with the jerk failing all his finals.

The first story: That's what accountability looks like sweetheart. Better learn from it ;)
I watch your videos everyday. It makes my day. I am pretty sure you have covered all of these stories before or maybe I have read all of these stories on instagram reddit pages. Whatever the case Keep doing what you do, I love listening to these stories when I am doing other work.
And that's why you get a dash cam front and back of your car in the first story.
Story 1: If you can't afford payments of a car, don't buy it!
i'm guessing the car wasn't the Only thing she was paying off. dude Did say she was a New blonde. no telling what Else on her was new. can never tell with bimbo/Karens.
BUY. A.
I'm definitely buying a dashcam when I get a car and my license.
remember kids, its illegal for a company or a manager to not pay you for the money you rightfully worked for.

The hero we never knew we needed

I have 1m tall Jensen quadraxials. I recently rebuilt them with 1000w 15" BOSS sub-woofers, 2x midrange each, horn super tweeters, crossovers and heavy duty wiring.
