Great video Jared! I agree with you on bars, stem, grips and pedals by T1 and call it a day. Only thing I would do later on is upgrade the travel to 150mm and that’s no biggie.
Hi Jared. I used your affiliate T9 link. I hope it helps your channel out. You made so many great videos on the T9 and N9 and I also enjoyed your coil vs air shock series, which makes me also want to try out a coil shock.
Excellent review that reeks of honesty . I’m a huge believer in short travel trail bikes . I have a short travel ebike and while it was a gamble it paid off. The connection with the trail is nicer than bigger travel and they are so much fun and very capable . Back to the bike you reviewed…. That drop was huge at the start but despite bottoming out it handled it but I do agree with the tire conversation . As for the other components I think this company gets it right bars and stem wise but the wheelset could still survive a few years for a less demanding rider ( man you do punish bikes 🤣) but for someone as aggressive as you they need replacing. Really good review as usual mate and it’s great seeing someone talking about and riding the more affordable brands.
Dang!! That was a freakin' hard landing off that highest ladder drop! Seriously slammed the fork & rear to it's fullest limits with a loud cracking sound.
Honestly I agree with the upgrades, the wheels are the only thing holding that bike back. - The brakes are probably some of the best in the market. - The transmission is the gold standard for best value. - Geometry and frame quality is top notch. - The tires aren't bad actually, the problem is that they're a bit too much for the bike and the casing isn't the most supportive one, but other than being heavy they will perform just fine. - I don't know about the dropper but just replace it when it breaks imo - Cassette is also heavy, but as with the dropper, just replace it when it breaks A lot of Polygon bikes use Novatec hubs, that are actually pretty high quality, you could just buy a pair of new rims and save money instead of buying a brand new wheelset.
I think you should do a follow up, what would it look like to ride this bike adjusting for-big drops and technical terrain. The suspension is more than capable and you can make it a better bike. I think polygon is phenomenal value for money and as a platform you can build a killer bike.
Definitely 👍 I currently looking for a good budget wheelset because I think that’s the biggest fault. I’m also looking for some discounted tires. Want to try and do all the upgrades for less than $1,000 to keep it somewhat “budget”.
Honestly this bike is exactly what I’m looking for the big selling point is those TRP Evo’s everything else is a fairly cheap and inexpensive for bar setup and dropper is only thing I’d change with wheel setup.
@@fetiljosh I made a T9 trail versus N9 enduro bike video to try and answer that but it’s not an easy answer. I love the T9 but the N9 ride so good. I think I’d choose the T9 over the N7 but I’ve upgraded my N9 so much that I love it.
Great bike, lack lustre colour considering the T8 colour way although we cheaped out on the gold one too. Top of the line T really should be on par with how great the N9 looks... Unless the rumours about a T10 are true 🤭🤫
I actually like the forest green color. It looks even better in direct sunlight. I’ll try to show the color better in my next video, but agree that the N9 has a better paint job

Dropoffs kinda just suck. Basically falling and slamming into the ground. Probably stresses your frame more than anything too. I enjoy just about anything else though.
@@JaredHoffYou could maybe do a miniseries about your manual progress. Drop maybe 1 or 2 videos per month. Just an idea.. I think people would enjoy it as most bikers have wet dreams about the manual 😊
Very good bike review and Everstoke review. I had a great time showing you around. This is a great video .
Had a blast! You guys are building an epic MTB destination. Can’t wait to go back.
I wish my property was this nice, I have elevation but the rest is a swamp tbh, I'm jealous of that land 😂

150 travel would help me not clap the fork again 😂 I might do that, but I’m trying to not go overboard on upgrades like I always seem to do 🤦🏼♂️
Awesome bike review + Everstoke? Great combo and a great vid! That last drop and aSingleTrackMind's wood double are huge!
Thanks man! I need to go back and clear that jump. It’s haunting me. I know I can.

Good vid and sick bike. Stop by Mount Shasta and check out some of the new trails out there. Only a couple hours from Klamath Falls
Definitely will do! That’s a place I’ve wanted to ride. Rode the lift bike park there once, but haven’t been back.
i grabbed on sale, hunt trail wide wheels on my t7 and thinner 2.4 tire (tubless) and it made a world of difference
I’ve looked at those. They seem like a great option.
would definitely change out that heavy steel deore cassette for XT..
It’s always hard to size up a jump and just send it without anyone to tow you in.
can you do this for the T8
@@johnk8475 I don’t have a T8 or I would. Sorry man.

it is a killer spec bike but you surely have to get a lighter garburuk cassette with that wheelset again like your n9

@@highentropy2468 I thought they shipped over there as well. Sorry to hear that.
Lol j was expecting to see: you didn’t do the 6 feet jump, seemed as a bad idea not enough suspension travel, would be a painful landing
The only reason have not got one is I can't get a Small with 29" wheels.
This bike comes in 27.5 in a size small, but you could always throw a 29” wheel up front later.
Nice bike man
Thanks bro!
Nice bike but doesn't ship to the UK

Hard to fault you for that jump with 15lbs of wheels below you😂

This guy knows my shoe size 🤷🏼♂️
Just buy a Canyon Spectral and call it a day.
That’s a good bike as well
Just buy a Stumpjumper EVO Comp Alloy(160/150 six different geo settings)and call it a day.
