Got mine yesterday in Lg. Changing the Maxxis overkill hi drag tires to Vittoria Arragos tubeless. PNw carbon bar. Pedals. Swap to 170mm cranks. All else will stay stock. Would have liked to hear your comments on the weight? Good video!
It can be set to 140mm mine was set to 140mm some people I have talked with said theirs is a 150mm. I know the 27.5 comes with 140mm. Since mine was an early model they might all be 150mm now on the 29er.
@@RunBikeMike Cool I look forward to that. I also saw some of your Marin Rift Zone videos. I have been thinking of buying a Rift Zone 2 or Polygon T8 or T9. But I cant make up my mind. I am totally hoping for some great deals around Christmas time.
Just got mine today. I was super excited to build it with some friends. I first noticed they didn’t give me Maxxis tires (probably supply chain issue). But when I go to put in the front wheel, the spacer on the drive side is like too wide and won’t fit in between the fork. It is a weekend when writing this and Bikes Online Call Center isn’t open. I’ve already facetimed a professional bike mechanic and they said that the spacers are messed up or the center lock rotor(which i don’t have the tools to remove) is on the wrong side. He also said that there’s a chance that the lower of the fork got bent during transit, and i noticed where the fork was the box was damaged. i don’t know how this even happened, pretty much ruined my birthday. my mom spent nearly 3,000 usd on this bike and is not happy. hop in i get a replacement, a solution, a refund, or the money to pay for a fix.
@@bry9 bikes online is hands down the best place to buy a bike. They will always pay for, replace or refund. Best company I’ve ever dealt with. Can’t beat thier customer service.
Right now, The T8 is 1800 and the T9 2400. Which is the better purchase? I'm still a beginner, currently on an Ozark Trail Ridge hardtail and doing green and blue singletracks, but looking to purchase something to own for a while.
@@RunBikeMike ikr, just ordered my T8 in Metallic gold. Can't wait. First mod is obvs tubeless tires. Any simple quick upgrades or adjustments you recommend?
Polygon makes great bikes and the prices are unbelievable. I have 6 of them and the only thing I wish they would fix is the weight. My t8 is great but after about 10 miles in the woods I start to feel the weight. In my state we climb a lot of hills and that's what gets ya. It didn't look like you did much climbing and the t9 is even heavier
Clearly amazing value, but at almost 16 kg (35 lbs) this is a very heavy bike. Great for descending, but for climbing and longer rides, this cannot be much fun.
Thats going to be hard. Just going tubeless will drop 1 lbs off the bike not many trails bike under $4k that are much below this one in weight. Also you might be surprised at how well this bike climbs.
@@McAl300 I cannot unless you find something on sale. Last year I bought the YT Izzo Core 3 (full carbon frame, full GX, 130mm Fox Performance Elite front and back with DT Swiss M1900 wheels) during Black Friday with CDN $3800 (USD $2750). The bike was just 29.3 lbs out of the box. If pedalling efficiency and climbing are important, it excels in those areas. I replaced the wheels with Elite Pro36 CF wheels (another CDN $800 😅) and now the bike is 27.5lbs. For me this represents a true trail bike. But I come from a XC race background and really like light, efficient bikes. Descending is less important since I am almost 62.
It’s morbidly obese. It weighs more than my 2023 alloy sentinel. For what you spend on upgrades (@least $2000) to get it to a respectable trail bike weight. You could just spend $4500 and get a carbon anything.

7:19 I thought the Fox 36 was a 150/160 mm fork.

Great to see it perform in Bentonville! Really sweet ride
That was a nice looking orange e-bike you were riding at Fellows Lake this morning. Looking forward to your video and review. Aaron
It was really nice running into you today. Thanks for chatting it up with me on the trail. ✌🏻
Hi Mike, would you consider doing a long term review on T9 and any upgrades you made to the bike.
I would consider that for sure. I haven’t done ant permanent upgrades but I did temporarily put on hunt carbon wheels. It was awesome.

@@KineticsReborn got it back 2 weeks ago and it runs fine. they sent a new fork and paid for my bike to go to the shop.

Excellent Review Mike and a worthy upgrade from my T8 for sure!!
honestly, if they just do away with the 2-tone color scheme or at least give an option for a solid color, it would sweeten the deal even more.
A solid color would be cool. I do really like the two tone on this one.
I really like this color myself 👍🏼
A-W-E-S-O-M-E !
Superb riding Mike !
Needs a Shimano chain - why spec KMC??
Mine was delivered yesterday. Can’t wait to put it together.
It is unreal. Have fun.
They really should have speced minion dhf, dissector tyre combo or even double dissector.
I will get one of these when I can get the size small in 29in wheels.
the KMC are not Siltec coated though and their Ti chains are expensive.
I don't understand why in France we can't receive it too bad :(
God the tolerances on that frame on the close ups look off my 5mm

Those prices are crazy. The T9 is amazing but 1,800 for the T8. 😮

@Fideon honestly the T8 doesn’t really need much upgrading. But you may want to change out the grips or maybe the dropper post lever.
@@RunBikeMike Got it. Appreciate your replies Mike. I've subscribed :D
Thank you 😊
you didn't mention the wheelset. Have they shaved weight off the wheels?
The wheels on mine are the same as the T8 but with a microspline hub. Not any weight difference from what I can tell.
So that is a size large?Happen to know what the Rad is?Im at 32 so not sure if I need medium or large.Plan on ordering one soon .Great also👍🏼
I am 5'11" and this is a size large.
@@RunBikeMike ok was going by the new rad sizing technique of measuring the distance from center of crank and center of handlebar.Im at a 32”.

I totally agree

Can you name a bike in the same price range which is better in this point of weight and long rides?
I‘m asking cause I‘m looking for that
