I cant decide between a T8 and the cascade peak elite. If i get the Ari ill be changing the drivetrain to shimano 12s. I have a fox 36 to put on whatever bike i get as well Im 250lb full kit in flat south. I dont shy away from 3ft drops and learning to jump I do want it to pedal decently If only the smuggler wasn't 1k more Help! Advice?
Both are great bikes, I think you’ll be stoked either way. If you’re set on Shimano then maybe you just stick with the T8 and save yourself the upgrade!
One more question if I may... I currently have a 2024 trek Roscoe as you guys know has 140mm fork already. I wonder if this is too much overlap. @@99spokes
How are the hubs on the T9? Son has a polygon and it has to be one of the slowest coasting bikes. If we coast together I leave him behind even with the same tires. It always seems reviewers skip over hubs, often times hubs add more drag than the big sticky tires. If any thing Polygon in my opinion could greatly improve their bikes with better hubs even with the heavier wheels.
Hmm, that might just be brake rub, have you tried removing the brake caliper and then spinning the wheel? I've never seen excessive hub friction on a modern, sealed bearing wheel
@@99spokes the wheels on the Polygon D5 are not sealed bearing, they are loose ball bearing. I've tried it without brakes, and I've tried repacking the bearings. I was able to improve it slightly repacking them with grease and adjusting how tight the bearings were. I've put the brakes back on with shims so that they were center. The rotors are not warped and the rims are not warped. If the T9 is sealed bearings then it may be a better rolling hub.
@@Avi8tor857 I've got a Treck XCaliber 8 with these cheap Formula lose ball hubs, and they are nasty gritty. While it's true that hub rotation friction on sealed bearing wheels is almost a non-issue, some of the loose ball hubs out there can be rough. It's the soft alloy cups that almost get detents in them from the hard balls, IMO. All you can do, is replace the balls, repack the hubs, and put some fresh grease in, then watch your bearing tension when you tighten them back up. It'll gain you a little speed. SOmetimes they wrench them down too hard from the factory.
@@Clint_the_Audio-Photo_Guy yes I've done that, I've also done it on the old Shimano hubs on my old trek which is much faster rolling. There is something about the design on those lower level entity/polygon hubs. Internally they look identical to the loose ball Shimano but the metal must be different. There doesn't appear to be any damage, and there were no metal filings in the grease when I repacked it. I just bought him a Trek Rosco 8 (sealed bearing hubs) so the Polygon will be passed on. If I decide to hold onto it I think I am going to replace the hubs.
T9 is dope for sure but the T6 Rides HARD for the price 🤙🏾💯
They went for the throat with trp evo. Best brakes. My gosh
Industry nines help and running continental 2.4s plenty other upgrades done too.
Nice! Yeah I think some lighter wheels and tires would be a game changer on this thing!

That polygon rips!
It really does!!
Polygon has been upping their game recently
Great price for what you get, amazing.
Definitely a killer value!

Why does the T9 not come in that beautiful purple 😭 Im about to downgrade just because i like the color more 😂
I actually really like the dark green! But the purple is rad too 🤷♂️
lol I want to do the opposite. The green is nice to me, the purple not so much for my taste
