You know you’re getting old when you start calculating the costs after purchase…debt service, taxes, insurance, utilities, furniture, decor, upkeep etc. The current market rates for a mortgage would probably disqualify most buyers unless the builder is willing to offer an incentive . I didn’t know El Paso was so high end.

I like how they made the slide over the fireplace for an 85 inch television that size is probably the normal size TV today for the main room

Why do homes in El paso not have a basement? I am a new Yorker who has been station for 10 plus years, and it is frustrating when I go to homes that are for sale. None of them have a basement!

Thank you for the information about areas in EP. I've lived in EP for a while now and I don't get out that often. I learn so much about real estate and neighborhoods in EP watching your videos.

A million and higher to live on the west side a price for a house like that and yard is not worth it you can find something well constructed and bigger in other parts of Texas.

Beautiful homes...but the location...blah. Whoever buys those homes will just love the canal mosquitos, especially when trying to enjoy the outdoor kitchen and pool. The westside isn't always the best side.

El Paso in in general sucks the annual wage is low and the traffic is horrible and the house are expensive as hell just to get a house with a small back yard, small rooms and a house made out of stucco and there’s absolutely nothing to do but see a fast food joint every half mile from each other.

    • @swidyditcha6612

@@storm2945 I have to politely disagree. As far as annual wage goes I think it likely varies widely based on what kind of work you're involved with. Undoubtedly there is low wage work here (I live in El Paso), as there is any where else in the country, but speaking in generalities of wages across all fields isn't really fair, especially in the world of remote work these days. The homes here also vary widely based upon what you are looking for and what an individual can afford. "Parade of Homes" is an event where home builders are going to bring their best to show off, which can equate to being their high end builds, how else would they "wow" us? I would also like to challenge the notion you have of "absolutely nothing to do but see a fast food joint every half mile". I would have you watch more of the videos on this channel, as there are numerous examples that are contrary to that statement, and makes me wonder if you've ever been here, or maybe what you saw and did while here if visiting. I personally love living here, but often wonder if I might love this city so much because people that carry false, nasty opinions of the place, don't live here...and if that keeps El Paso great, how hard am I really going to fight to change your mind.

@@swidyditcha6612 I’ve lived here for 20 years El Paso doesn’t have enough funding to support a construction crew to work on a project day, night and weekends which takes them 3 years to finish we’re if I were in Dallas or San Antonio they would get it down in a month or 2 while El Paso has the highest property tax than any other city in Texas and also academically were not even up there in Texas and it’s also sad knowing that Utep is about lose it’s accreditation, are used to take me 20 minutes to get to work pre Covid now it takes me 35 post Covid now and people don’t even know how to drive either here going on the passing lane 65 just cruising what else do you want me to bring up?

    • @storm2945

@@swidyditcha6612 I don’t about you but who the hell wants to pay for a basic house that’s $300,000 for 50 foot back yard, rooms the size of a prison cell and interest that’s up the roof right now and just add up on top of that just to buy a house that was built in the 1930s by utep that looks very modern today and updated in the inside for $600,000 come on now then on top of that, Fort Bliss, is one of the highest suicide basis in the country no wonder the guy that entered North Korea didn’t want to come here lol.
