Thx for the good, common sense review. Just bought a 2013 Bully and I absolutely love it. Your comments were spot on regarding handling, maneuverability, comfort, ergo, and power. Mine came modded with an Iceman Shorty 2-into-1 wide exhaust and the noise it makes is pure growly music. Ride safe!
2008, thought I’d bought a bike with transmission issues because of the available power off the line. But same, after reading all about this very unique bike, the huge power that mates with a drive train / shaft, you’ve got to practice and almost learn how to ride it. Now it seriously is the fastest bike I’ve ever owned. 0 - 70 is nuts fast!!!
The M109R has to be one of the craziest cruisers ever made! Downshifting to take a turn at a stop is an event haha. You can feel the size of the motor at all times, it's a real beast!
I've got a 2013 m109r limited and your review is great. I love my bike and have thrown a lot of miles on it, from commuting, to parking lot slow speed stuff to crazy fast and it's always a blast. Get an ecu flash and you might need an exorcist for it. 😂 Happy to see another Christian motorcycle channel, God bless!
Same model as mine, had it since 2012, high induction, Cobra Swept exhaust, Cobra Fi2000 Protune computer, with the app you can tune the bike via your phone. Timing retard eliminators. Oxygen sensors removed. V-stream. 2" risers brings the bars back so sitting more upright, without the wind hitting you in the chest because of the V-stream it feels like a leisurely cruise when it's really a lot faster than that. No buffetting with wind in the chest. A real no fuss machine. Power to burn. Anyone with clutch cable problems, fit a new one but run thin machine oil down inside the cable first then mix graphite in a small amount of 10w - 40 tip it down 'til it comes out the bottom, do this before you fit the cable it will last forever, the new ones are nylon lined but not lubed, the nylon eventually wears through so metal cable on metal sheath. Not good. So thin oil, graphite in oil 'til it comes out the bottom, all good forever. Cheers
Risers would be great on these bars, there is a bit of lean, it's not too bad for me, but it's definitely not a relaxed cruising feel with the stock setup. Thanks for the tips about the clutch cable, that is excellent info! :). How many miles do you have on your 109R?
Nice bike, great colour too. Got a C109, bigger bars, footboard and more of an upright riding position. Takes a bit to get used to the bulk of it and the way the throttle works but just love riding it. It is true, it is Planted on the road, a comforting feeling. Ridiculous torque. Occasionly screw it on but not for long because it really gets going and I want to hang onto my licence!
Sorry about the delayed response here, I came down with the flu, but doing better now :). More of an upright position would be great for longer trips for sure, I think that's a good mod! You're right, much of the struggle with this machine is keeping your license! haha
So you can get your ECU reflashed and it will completely get rid of the "snatchiness" of the throttle, which I'd recommend. Normally I don't like the idea of modifying the stock ECU, but because of emissions laws, and the EPA, some bikes are super snatchy when rolling onto the throttle at certain RPM's, especially in lower gears, and when going around a corner. The snatchiness can actually be dangerous when doing low speed turns. I'd strongly suggest never using the friction zone. You're obviously a smart rider, but I wouldn't risk putting any stress on the clutch, because you are dealing with 118 ft lbs of torque on that bike. The shared oil of the engine and clutch, means that the engine oil gets sheared by the clutch, and the more you slip it, the more clutch particles you'll get in your engine oil. It's actually a lucky miracle that the stock clutch can handle the torque as it is!
Yeah its a pretty temperamental beast isn't it? No slipper clutch means you really need to be careful with quick downshifts, so you don't lock up the rear wheel! It seems like quite a few bikes suffer from snatchy throttles these days, due to the emissions laws. The only one that has been super smooth for me is the 765 Street Triple, they are like butter stock.
It seems that you're a new rider. When you talk about the brakes but focus on the "Rear brake" that pretty much what inexperience riders use, because it's more gentle. Go about 35 or more mph and jam on the rear brakes. Watch how long your skid mark is. At riding speed rear brakes alone will not stop you. It will lock the rear tire but you will keep moving forward. Either the front brake or both will stop you. Rear brakes are more gentle but will not stop you. And the front brakes could've stopped you sooner if you squeezed it harder. Practice using the front brakes "Primarily", If you keep relying on the rear brake you will get hurt. Just FYI. And I've had 2 M109s so I'm pretty familiar with it.
Hi thanks for the concern and tips! :). I've been riding a few years, but most of my experience is on sportbikes and naked bikes. On a true sportbike like a Daytona 675 or such, the braking can be as much as 90/10 front brake weighted, but big heavy cruisers like the M109R can be up to 60/40. You are right, the front brake is always the most important for stopping power, no matter what machine you are on. I talked about the rear brake alot because I do like a nice smooth rear brake for trail braking, not a wooden feeling pedal, like I've experienced on some bikes. Also the M109R's rear tire loves to slide if you downshift and let the clutch out too quickly, as I'm sure you've noticed on both of yours...there's no slipper clutch! lol
Most people get around 35mpg from what I've seen. but if you go easy on it, you might be able to get 40 out of the m109r.....but who goes easy on these :p :p
It looks like they are for next year at least! I was just looking around, and I do see some versions with chrome pipes! www.globalsuzuki.com/motorcycle/smgs/products/2025boulevard_m109r/
Hi, there must be something wrong with your device or headphones that you are using, the audio is excellent for me on my device. I treated each audio track with a multi band compressor before export for clarity as well. If you could give it a shot on a different device and let me know, I would appreciate it :)

Thanks! The M109R really puts out alot of low end, you can really feel em rumble the ground!

Wow. nice color. I'm saving up for the 2024 M109R
@DetroitNinja thanks! The red and chrome looks great on this machine! The m109r is pretty affordable for the crazy amount of power that it puts down!

Thanks for checking out the review! Suzuki makes some of the craziest machines, between this and the busa! Haha
Just picked up my 07 and man is it a monster!!
The low end is pretty mind blowing on these!!

Hey! Just bought the same one about the same time!
@Rejefrencel Nice! How are you liking the M109R so far? It really is a fun machine despite its size!
Amazing bikes !
The torque is wild stuff on these :0
I have a 260 on my 2015.
Nice!! I've heard some people like to darkside these too, but I don't think that life is for me haha.
Hey pastor, whats the gas consumption on that one?

Do they still make a chrome version (a real motorcycle) or are they only building the new less expensive matte black on everything?
It looks like they are for next year at least! I was just looking around, and I do see some versions with chrome pipes!
