    If you don’t mind me asking how much was this system I’m looking for a catback right now for my 2.0

      man I'll be honest this was 8 years ago and I don't really remember what I paid for it, Techtonics probably still makes the exhausts but no clue what the price would be nowadays

    Sounds good man. Any plans for more performance mods like boost? I've got a MK2 with a ABA(turbo) swap and I love it.

    • @kbery
      @kbery  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No boost, have a spare aba with a pretty wildly built head and cam sitting on a stand for it, it'll make it in eventually

      Sounds like a plan! Just don't make the mistake I did and think the 8v can make a lot of power N/A (I started out with a built head and 272*). It's a totally different engine boosted. Even on .5 bar boost (about 7psi) I made 175whp with a 02A transmission! Very stout engine for sure. Loving it.

      I've been an 8v guy for a long time lol, trust me I know a good bit about them

    do you have a stock exhaust manifold? I'm getting the same exhaust system from TT and am thinking of getting a 4-1 header but am confused as to if it will fit a stock 2.0 setup

    • @kbery
      @kbery  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      no, as listed I run a 4-1 header, if you're building a driver the raceland 4-2-1 is a nice option, the TT 4-1 doesnt have a flex joint and is for full race builds.

    is this with or without a catalytic converter?

    • @kbery
      @kbery  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Without, Thats what the test pipe replaces

      kbery oh okay. i'm doing an aba swap to my mk2 jetta and taking the engine out of a 1997 cabrio. i want to go with TT race headers and TT 2.5" exhaust system and i know they come with 2 resonators instead of one small one. i want a loud exhaust system but not sure what to do.. i was thinking the 2.5" and leave both resonators and delete the muffler with straight pipe and either a high flow cat or no cat at all but i'm scared i would lose power with the straight pipe.

      The 2.5" system is pretty loud as it is. You'd definitely hear the car coming from a few streets away with a 2.5" system even with 2 resonators and a muffler.
      TT tuning does a ton of custom work. If you ask them, they'll make you a 2.5" system with only 1 resonator. Give them a call, they're super cool guys. Ask for Collin. I've got a MK2 GTI with a ABA turbo swap. Bought quite a bit from TT, haha

      JobeMinacum sweet, i didn't know that. i will do that for sure! i'll probably ask them to remove the big and small one and just have the muffler. haha

      The race header isn't a great choice for a street car unless you're planning on cutting and adding a flex joint, adn the 4-1 long tube is really set up for high rpms. Look into a raceland 4-2-1 header, despite the brand they're a nice piece and work well on street cars. Going 2.5" you aren't really losing anything vs straight pipe except making it obnoxious, my cars loud as all hell with both resonators and a muffler.
