First I would try booting in to single user mode: 1) Turn on, hold down command S 2) After boot run to check drive: /sbin/fsck -fy 3) Mount the drive: /sbin/mount -uw / 4) Remove .AppleSetupDone so that setup assistant will run on boot up: rm /var/db/.AppleSetupDone If there is some sort of firmware password, remove the memory, zap the PRAM 3 times, re-install the memory and then boot from other devices.
Thanks for the other things to try. Off camera I also tried holding down “S” to see if I could boot either of them into single user mode. That unfortunately didn’t work. I also confirmed that neither of them had firmware passwords on them. The only thing I didn’t try doing was removing the ram. Neither computer would even let me reset the pram. 😕 The good news is that I got the passwords from the seller and got in and was able to wipe them. 🙂 Still not sure why I couldn’t get them to do what I wanted them to. 🤔
@@LoveTech4U That's weird, no keys working at boot sound like a firmware password. Can you boot off of external media now? Does option or PRAM reset work?
None of those things worked until I logged into the computers that had passwords on them. Not sure really as to why... The mysteries of technology lol. Luckily I got the passwords from the prior owner and was able to restore all 6 computers. 😀 look for my part 2 video coming later this week.
Nice video. Try losing the "So,...". Looks like a nice project. These Mini's run next to silent on CF cards, an IDE-CF adapter will set you back only a couple of bucks.
Thanks for the complement and subscription, much appreciated! If you like the clock and want to get one for yourself you can buy it here: amzn.to/3mkFrO8 or from the manufacturer here: bit.ly/2FxlRxv

I really like that clock in the background! Also keep up the great work, I've subscribed with notifications on!

Was it all 60 bucks?? If so I would upgrade the ram and storage then make a formidable server with it
Yeah I thought about putting them all together and making a server but that’s what my Mac Pro is for 😊
