Balmoral via the Cairngorms

Staying a week in a beautiful cottage in Strathtay near Aberfeldy and riding various routes from this base. First trip through one of the best roads in the Cairngorms climbing to the ski resort of Glenshee and down to Balmoral Castle.

I like to move over when I see a brother coming up on me rapidly.. after all even a GS only takes up half the lane at most fully strapped; and if I didn't see them, then that's on me!
Most of us are in a holiday mindset when we're up that way but there's always locals to think about and everything in-between.
Nice to see your route, I'm looking forward to getting back on Skye afore the summer is out. Mallaig, Elgol and Plockton. Languistine heaven!🍻

A number of years ago we were virtually drowned doing the NC500 and decided to only go to Scotland on the bike according to the weather...but especially since Covid try that and you will not find anywhere to stay. Booked last year and by chance got the hottest two weeks possible...dare I even say too hot to ride🥵

Are you missing the RT at all? As you may recall i lost my RT after the last hurricane we experienced and im still undecided between another RT ....or a GSA!!!! Not a bad decision to have to make! LOL

Hi Fred, That is such a good question. Think the RT is better when you have a pillion and the GS when you are on your own...answer...have one of each!
