    Love the car for what it is, and not what it isn’t. There’s no arguing that the Japanese produce some of the best quality and reliable vehicles on the road. It doesn’t need a turbo or less weight, it’s got a great design and a n/a v8 which it’s competitors have backed away from a decade ago. The fact that this car is even available in 2024 from a conservative car manufacturer is surprising and we should consider ourselves lucky.

    I own an RCF CF/TVD similar to the one in the video spec'ed at over $90K. In reali life, actually it still holds up really well today even on the track against M cars I never get embarrassed by any comparable turbo sports car on the track while retaining the high-revving V8 soundtrack. A driver who really knows how to extract all of the performance from the chassis and engine, will thoroughly enjoy it on the track. While not necessarily best in a particular area, it is a great do-everything car. In the used market, something to beware of is that there are a lot of RCFs below $40K that have been abused badly by multiple previous users and accidents as well as poor maintenance records so the higher mileage below $45K are mostly poorly kept RCFs with lots of issues. Regarding the weight, even a BMW M2 is now nearly 3850 - 3900 lbs so with all of the track oriented equipment, chassis reinforcement and luxury, it seems to be heavy, but driving dynamics wise and power to weight wise sum of its parts is very current despite being so dated. Not sure why LC500 needs to overshadow every RCF review? Apples to oranges driving experience, really. The LC500 as I had said in the previous video, is a very different car. RCF was meant to compete with the M4. LC is not a do-everything car. It i focused to be a grand touring, luxury and halo car. It is much softer and is about 400+ lbs heavier with the same power and also does not have track oriented hardware like cooling systems etc. on it. LC500 transmission is too big to fit in the RCF and also does not have the cooling systems in it. It tends to overheat on the track very easily. Not to mention, while the 10 speed has better shift logic in auto mode, in manual mode at maximum attack, AISIN claims RCF's 8 speed shifts at 100 ms compared to LC500's 120 ms according to AISIN.

    • @hamsterbrigade
      @hamsterbrigade 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      There is no way the aisin 8 speed is anywhere near as fast as the 10 speed. I've had that 8 speed before. It's serviceable but it's slow.

    • @2ZZGE100
      @2ZZGE100 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      @@hamsterbrigade At full attack, they are very close. AISIN itself says max attack shift time is 100 ms for the AA80E in the RCF and 120 ms for the 10 speed in LC500. That is only talking about manual mode, redline shifts in SPORT+. Overall, the 10 speed is better since it has better shift logic in auto mode and also better shifting part-throttle (smoother). I have driven LC500 extensively and really liked the transmission better shifting at 4000 rpm as it is more responsive/reactive and less jerky than the my RCF version of the 8 speed. RCF 8 speed completely changes character once in SPORT+ and shifting at redline in manual mode and is crazy aggressive at redline in manual mode. On my channel, I Dragy GPS data posted and, in my acceleration, run telemetry graphs, the power is so continuous through shifts in the RCF 8 speed that the GPS graph does not even register a disruption.

    Carbon package gives you the CF front splitter, roof, interior bits, rear spoiler, rear diffuser, and black GSF wheels. When I bought my 2020, that option was $10k but didn't include wheels. Now it's $17k and includes wheels. You don't have to get the CF package in order to get heated steering wheel/seats..etc. That's part of the preium package. Fun note. You can ONLY get Flare Yellow on the RCF that includes the CF package. For whatever reason Lexus/Toyota deemed that in Flare Yellow you had to also spend the $17k more...lol. But, you can get a RC350 in flare yellow no problem. Seems really odd. I'm assuming it's because they figured it would be too much yellow (front lip, roof, spoiler and rear diffuser)? Also note that on the 2023's they did away with the TVD rear differential option. This used to be an option that was included with the pre-face lifted RCF's if you got the carbon/performance package. Then they made it a separate option in 2020. So you could have a TVD without carbon, or get the carbon package with TVD...etc.

When I'm up at the mini-Tail of the Dragon here in North Georgia, I also stay within gears 2 and 3 to keep the powerband dialed up. Smart move keeping the car at least in Sport mode around town. If you're a moderately spirited driver, Normal and ECO modes will drive you batcrap insane. 😀 I'm super spirited, so my IS 500 is driven 99% of the time in Manual and Sport S+. 😈 Thanks for posting!

    There are more sportier cars, or more luxurious coupes, or faster track cars and all for a LOT cheaper. As a Lexus fan for over 20 years I have to keep it real, unlike this video where I am sure they were provided the car by Lexus. The car hasn't changed in a decade (for god sake it has a CD player). The only reason to get one is if you are truly nostalgic for a v8 and love the look of the car. I pray Lexus can innovate with its next iteration, but considering the EV trend, I think the RCF's days are numbered.

    The driving experience in other cars are better though I don't get the string of excuses being made. I don't understand what Lexus fanatics have against them making a new vehicle. Watching this review is just sad. This car is just outdated beyond belief at this point. What would be the problem with this engine in a new vehicle? Even other Lexus models are way better inside than this.

      True F enthusiasts are wanting a new F car. Lexus doesn’t seem interested in making another one though. Not a single update of anything in the works. I love the RCF, I have one, but it’s a last generation sports car.

      Yeah, after having mine for 8 years now, I'm getting the itch to get something new, especially when I see the performance of the new M3/4 both stock and just with a tune. I struggle with that though because this car just works and would easily last me the rest of my life without a loss in performance (I only drive about 5k miles a year).
      Whenever I take it to get an oil change or annual inspection, mechanics always tell me that the car is awesome and to KEEP IT!

    Sorry, that vehicle isn't worth 91K. I like the V-8s just like everyone else but, unless u just want a 2-door, the IS 500 is a much better choice. A 91K Lexus pushing only 472 HP, is not a bargain.
