I am the modder who is working to restore Sleheyron. I have been working on it for many years. It has gone through quite a few iterations, team changes, technical roadblocks, and data losses. I am still working on the mod actively. I enjoyed seeing your video very much and love the attention it brings to this wonderful planet that was cut. It's a shame that it was cut, as I think it has very cool possibilities and would've been quite fun. I hope that my project will be finished and available for the general public.
Hk-47 was also stationed at sleheyron at one point in time serving bochaba the hutt and consequently terminating a grand total of 322 sentient meatbags.
I wanted Yuthura as a companion for a long time. Personally, I think they could of made her a surprise companion if you chose, for whatever reason, to kill Juhani or have he come in if you do the planet last and not have Bastila and Yuthura essentially replace her.
Cat lady is not that useful and her story is bland, and not even complete. And you might as well be a jedi guardian. Also depends on the order if what planet's you do you'll drop her after you get Jolee then on korbeen you don't really need her as you can't even being them to the map with you for the final fight. And by the time you get to the temple you should be strong enough. And then if you go dark side like i do she just in the way. But if you want light side ending that's different. As three jedi on the star forge is fun
they could have made it so she would replace bastila when she gets taken because realisticlly your gunna have a slot of a missing companion for the rest of the game reguardless on what side you choose
@gazof-the-north5708 that is true but like I said I love them both. To say that kotor2 sucked and Kotor1 is great that's well you know what i mean. In my case like is said before in my opinion I love both equally even if one is a apple and the other is a orange their both are fruits
See Kotor 1 is more of your conventional Star Wars story. Light Vs dark the hero’s journey. While Kotor 2 makes everything an ambiguous grey area left to interpretation and is more philosophical in nature. They’re both great , they’re just different. (I personally still like Kotor 2 more though because I think Kreia is the one of the best written characters in fiction let alone Star Wars)
Could you imagine a fully realised Volcanic planet in the KOTOR Remake... I think it would be awesome. It gives me Mustafar vibes! Anyway, don't forget to answer today's question and come follow me on Twitter! - twitter.com/100PerStarWars
There is some evidence that Sleheyron is NOT the volcanic planet: Korriban is. The Ebon Hawk specifically lists the terrain on Korriban as, "Volcanic Mountain Ranges." I think people are quick to assume that Korriban is the barren planet because a lack of flowing lava, but the mountain ranges and rugged terrain point toward volcanic more than anything from Sleheyron does.
I noticed the missing volcanic planet back when but never thought much more about it. Good to know that they at least tried to have it but understandable it was cut.
Yuthura as a companion would have been great. Just imagine you get her on your crew and then you need to travel to Sleheyron to complete her side quest & story. Hopefully we see something like this in the remake.
@@ashhathaway4144 Yep, and add some more later game story work...and have some more things with setting things up for later points rather than the jumps around with things at that point.
I’m using Sleheyron for my friends KOTOR 3 Star Wars campaign. I’m trying to keep it as close to how it’s described in both games and interviews. So far my friends are loving it. I even drew a map with the arena and Tibanna gas refineries and tied it to my plot involving Empress Teta and Telos IV.
Ah Sleyheron. I mean I knew by now but as HK said with his behaviour core something that was always looping through my mind: It was already hinted in the Rakatan computer on Dantooine. And I always asked myself why we only see 5 planets out of 6. 3 life giving ones and 3 death bringing ones.
I would have liked both Yathura as a companion and her home planet in the game. If she was a companion, her character story arc would need her to interact with her past to develop her character similar to how other companions were impacted by various locations or other characters. It would have definitely been interesting.
Yathura Ban always felt like the best character on Korriban to me and felt worthy of the Ebon Hawk crew as well. If you persuaded her to the light side. Which I sadly didn't on my first run :(
In Kotor 2 they mentioned few worlds The Exile fought on, I think one of them was Serroco and the other was Duro. They should’ve added those planets instead of going back to Dantooine & Korriban.
I actually kind of like that Exile's trauma from the war is focused on at Dxun and Malachor V, and the other planets all focus on the Exile trying to resolve other people's problems that have happened since. Especially early on in the game rocking up at Dxun unexpectedly, finding the downed ships with the logs that have just been left behind and swallowed by the jungle, and of course the twist that Canderous Ordo has setup a base camp for the Mandalorians on the moon. I suppose you do also have the option of facing the Serroco in the refugee sector at Nar Shadaa, and there are quite a few Duros in the game, but none of that feels especially personal for the exile since they're nothing more than obstacles in the way, although the Serroco do mention that they used to be Republic soldiers, it never really plays into anything. I also feel like each party member in KOTOR 2 (Aside from T3-M4) has one planet in particular that they visit in game which they have history with and a major connection to. Atton: Nar Shadaa, due to his time there as a refugee. (Although he does also have form killing Jedi at Malachor) Kreia: Dantooine, since that's where the Jedi Enclave is; seeing it rebuilt has a huge effect on her. Bao Dur: Malachor V, the one planet he never actually visits in person, but spends the post-war running from before he begs the Exile to face it one last time at the end. Brianna the Handmaiden: Telos, due to the polar Academy where she grew up with her sisters and Atris. Visas Marr: Katarr, but Nihilus destroys it prior to the events of the game. So I guess Visas is kind of the odd one out, unless you count Telos since that's where she confronts Nihilus near the end. Canderous Ordo: Definitely Onderon, since he fought there in the war and even argues with Captain Bostuco about it. (And regularly shops for supplies there to sustain his secret Mandalorian camp) Malachor V I suppose holds significance since it was the scene of the Mandalorian's defeat, but Canderous admits that he never set foot on the surface. Mira, Hanharr and GO-TO: Nar Shadaa Mical the Disciple: Dantooine, due to him being partially trained as a Jedi there. HK-47: Telos, because that's where the droid factory making the HK-50's is, which is basically his main quest in the game; to find it and deal with it.
I actually looked into some of the files, and it seems like there are some music tracks in the game that could've been used for Sleheyron as well, and even a Arena-sounding track called "Area 2", unless I'm mistaken and it's used in game somewhere else.
I knew about Sleheyron but the fact that the clue about it was on the terminal in those ancient ruins on dantooine blew me away! It is so obvious and it never came to my mind that the planets on the terminal represent the planets from game
Definitely Yuthura Ban as a companion between these two possibilities. I am not hearing too much about a story that contributes to the broader Kotor narrative in this. Whereas Yuthura clearly does. If I had to add another planet to the game, it would be an ongoing battlefield between the Sith and the Republic Bastila and the Ebon Hawk crew are asked to help with. Perhaps one also with some background in the Mandalorian War to help build up the lore of the setting and remind us there is still a war going on in the midst of our quest.
If I remember right, chunks of what they did make for the planet was reused for Yavin station in the DLC...and there had been more planned for Yavin as well (From a comment made during some of Biowares interviews around when the Revan expansion for The Old Republic was coming out, just a phrase that they'd worked on more there that was cut and the developer was glad to be able to work some of what they had planned back into it. The same interview had mentioned the that there had been another world (seemingly Sleheyron) that they'd worked a lot on which had assets that were used with what they had for Yavin to make the DLC...when, initially, they were going to have 3 larger worlds with a full on expansion for the game but that was, heavily, cut back and the light side world counterpart to Yavin only had gotten some concept art and story concepts at the time. What people had theorized, was that Yavin and the Lightside world would be set later in the game and would be where you could get the lightside/darkside gear that was focused on your alignment and unknown if you would be able to do both of them on a playthrough. There had also been plans to finish the Juhani story...and a potential companion that would join late in the game shortly after you lost Bastila from the party. I believe there was also a potential variant of Dantooine post the Sith attack
I have heard that many of the games tried to put in Sleheyron. Both k1/k2 and swtor but I am not sure about the last one. Sleheyron would have been interesting with Yuthera Ban if you saved her.
Thanks for sharing, kotor 1 is one of my favorite games of all time (never finished 2) and I never knew this, I was too young at the time of marketing to remember so I'd never heard of this
When you talk about a volcanic planet in Star Wars...my first thought is Mustafar. I'm curious if Mustafar was ever mentioned in KOTOR 1? This is very interesting my friend because I always assumed that their was no cut scenes in the first KOTOR game like KOTOR 2
I believe it was original created for episode 3 which released in 2005. "Mustafar was originally known as "Mufasta" in early drafts of Revenge of the Sith." Kotor 2003 I don't believe the people making the movie gave early information to people making the game. There are some books which where made before or set before episode 3 and have been recon to have Mustafar mentioned. Also the obvious answer is that on Legends Wookipedia page for the planet it does not mention this game in the list of Appearances which includes mentions of things also.
Personally since my first playthrough i always saw the game as unfinished... You will almost never get enough spikes to do everything to the Selkath base.
That sneaky jerk! Back in 2017 and 2018, I was in a D&D group in college and our Dungeon Master (he and I were big Star Wars fans) had this homebrew world/campaign and one of the playable races in it were called the Sla'hra (a human variant) which was pronounced similarly to Sleheyron. The name itself even translated to 'Slave Race'. Kudos to you, Skipper, you pulled another one over me. RIP.
Always fascinating to uncover these cut elements , i think your video on the alternative ending you haven't seen was how i found your channel a while back , i think i'm due another Kotor play through me thinks
I’ve always been in the minority I liked KOTOR II way more and the restored content mod adds so much more and it makes it even more beautiful and special and will always hold a special place in my heart
You're not the only one. I always thought Kotor 2 is better than Kotor1 imo with it's expanded story, characters, lore, etc. Hell I even enjoy Kreia dialogue more than listening to Bastilia.
I've been folowing the mod for years, I thought he stopped in like 2019 so it's nice to see he's still working on it after all this time (assuming the modder is a he lol)
I wonder how this planet would have fit into the sequence of planets Revan had to visit and if this would've featured another Star-Map for Revan to find or if it was just meant to be a "detour." I'd also read somewhere that it was originally planned for Yuthura Ban to potentially become a companion if Revan redeemed her but that this was cut too. Interestingly in the fan-made "Brotherhood of Shadow" dlc, the ex-follower/devotee Channa Mae ("Shadow"), a female Twilek whose skin looks like the devs very clearly reworked Yuthura's skin and who temporarily becomes Revan's companion again during the dlc, also is meant to be a former slave from Sleheyron.
I had heard of it before, but merely assumed it got axed early on in development before any actual work had begun on its assets and level geometry. Knowing that there was at least some stuff made for it before it got cut is actually quite sad since I would have preferred it over the Wookiee planet that I keep forgetting how to spell properly due to that one being trees, trees, and more trees, with a Wookiee village and some ancient ruins thrown in alongside the Czerka Corporation spaceport you initially land at.
Nothing to do with the topic of this video. But isn't terrifying how the HK-50 were being built by the thousands and how easily they destabilized hundreds of worlds economies?
What a silly question you asked at the end ... There is no such thing as too many content, or too many companions ... of course we would want it all. :D
Hah, I thought this would be about the droid world. I picked that piece of cut content up, killed god damn droids for hours, and then died on the boss fight having forgotten to save since Korriban. 💀
Ithora bann companion. As much as I loved the idea of a new world to explore, I want another companion who is more ok, if I decided on a darker path. It could perhaps have even Givin another, albeit non canon, romancable option if you decided to include it. It's just thoughts. But ultimately I'd prefer both as it would add even more fun to the game in general
Restored Content is a very good mod, but it has a huge flaw, which means that you can't hit anything at all despite putting hit rate equipment and upgrades.
frankly I would have preferred Yuthura as a companion. She was quite interesting and could have added a much-needed tragic element to the KOTOR crew. Gladiator fights on Sleheyron just don't sound interesting. The combat in KOTOR isn't a big selling point of the game.
I would have preferred another volcanic planet in KotOR: Mustafar. You could get some of the great music from Revenge of the Sith there... it's a shame both games were made before Revenge of the Sith.
Gotta be honest, even with all cut content base game kotor 2 for me, 2 was miles more enjoyable than kotor 1. obsidian with all the time restraints put on them while making kotor 2 still made a game that i consider not only one of the best star wars games, but one of the best rpg games i have ever played.
Am already fine with it not being included. However, I do admit that the planet sure would have had a Star Map and some important stuff that did happen there, it's just that your player character and co. never even planned to go there. Also, KotOR II with the RCM is already fine enough as an ambiguously ended game, and the TOR MMO is a terrible sequel that should become an Infinities/Visions/Elseworlds/What If? title alongside The Force Unleashed II and Galaxies.
that's it, it's been 20 years ish. i am done. thanks for all the content, but i am out. tired of hearing about kotor, tired of hearing about kotor 2, tired of hearing about remakes that either never happen or b would be done so badly, we will all scream in agony. i am OUT
Having recently gotten and really enjoyed BioWare’s other game “Jade Empire” I noticed a lot of similarities in overall game pacing and progression between that and their other games like KOTOR and a very tiny bit of Mass Effect. Especially the point on a gladiator Arena. It felt like their dev teams really loved that bit (just from what’s in game alone) The Arena on Taris felt sad and unfulfilled in comparison 🥲
I’ve also spent the last few days playing KOTOR (trying to romance Juhani) just got the last star map last night, taking a little break as I got a little SWTOR craving. Working on my light Sith inquisitor.

They got pretty far into the tileset and textures for it...what they finished with it became part of Yavin station
Sleheyron actually sounds like it woulda been a nice breath of fresh air. Very different world than the others.
Breath of fresh air 😂
I'm guessing sleheyron
Nothing to do with the topic of this video. But isn't terrifying how the HK-50 were being built by the thousands and how easily they destabilized hundreds of worlds economies?
man this is so sad, wouldve loved to play this
What a silly question you asked at the end ...
There is no such thing as too many content, or too many companions ... of course we would want it all. :D
It looks playable in this video, its the mod available?
Thank you for the informative video 😘🥰😘🥰❤
Yuthura Ban should have become a companion after Bastila was captured or could have appeared in KOTOR 2. Sleheyron should of been in the game too
What were all the planets during the time period that were known by the galaxy?
getting her as a companion would have been a much better end to the light side playthrough of that area
I wish they’d upgrade both Kotors!
Not change them just heavily upgrade the graphics!
Like what was done with Halo and Halo 2!
Yuthura Ban companion 🤔
Yes, gimme new Jedee
Or Sith
Can't we have both companion Yuthura and Sleheyron? I'm greedy. 😝
I would have preferred another volcanic planet in KotOR: Mustafar. You could get some of the great music from Revenge of the Sith there... it's a shame both games were made before Revenge of the Sith.
Ban as I companion. That would be fun.
I prefer to but mainly because you can upgrade your Jedi/sith class and become a legit monster lol
is the missing kotor 2 dlc on limited run version physic copy
I would prefer Slehayron be in the game; more fun stuff to explore!
Anybody else here who were too weak to beat the two Terentateks on korriban so you just ran in circles until you finally managed to kill them?
Does anyone know why no other company wants to take a shot at a Kotor 3 then a remake of the first game.
I've always loved TSL over K1. The writing was so far superior!
😮
Aren't tattoine and korriban desert
Interesting stuff but the game's pacing is probably already ideal.
Why didn’t they just use mustafar in kotor games for a volcanic planet
So guys, tell me… is the kotor remake coming out or should I give up hope?
Give up hope.
All development points towards a flop, but can only hope i'm wrong.
Trust in the famous words of the internet: "Never don't give up!"
it's funny how I play twi'lek in swtor
anser to qwestion YES
Am already fine with it not being included. However, I do admit that the planet sure would have had a Star Map and some important stuff that did happen there, it's just that your player character and co. never even planned to go there.
Also, KotOR II with the RCM is already fine enough as an ambiguously ended game, and the TOR MMO is a terrible sequel that should become an Infinities/Visions/Elseworlds/What If? title alongside The Force Unleashed II and Galaxies.
Bro why don’t you make a nebula?? Better platform…
that's it, it's been 20 years ish. i am done. thanks for all the content, but i am out.
tired of hearing about kotor, tired of hearing about kotor 2, tired of hearing about remakes that either never happen or b would be done so badly, we will all scream in agony. i am OUT
If Yuthura Ban were a companion you can bet all of a sudden Bastilla would start bringing sexy back every time she talks to Revan.
Having recently gotten and really enjoyed BioWare’s other game “Jade Empire” I noticed a lot of similarities in overall game pacing and progression between that and their other games like KOTOR and a very tiny bit of Mass Effect.
Especially the point on a gladiator Arena. It felt like their dev teams really loved that bit (just from what’s in game alone)
The Arena on Taris felt sad and unfulfilled in comparison 🥲
I’ve also spent the last few days playing KOTOR (trying to romance Juhani) just got the last star map last night, taking a little break as I got a little SWTOR craving.
Working on my light Sith inquisitor.
