When you put Leg Day as your description I knew what was going on....my husband is Tom's cousin...my hubby was laughing as we watched this as he has gone through "Leg Day" workouts with Tom several times. Great story.

I have been into bodybuilding in my later years and met many pros on my journey. Leg days with THE Tom Platz would have been amazing! Totally relate about the clutch! I had many leg days that impeded my ability to drive, but had to power through.
    GREAT story!
As an aside, I was too busy in the late 80's and 90's to watch much tv, so I never got to see that buff physique you were sporting. Nice pecs!

Ric Drasin passed away in 2020 at 76 y/o. He was primarily a wrestler who maintained a bodybuilder physique. He also did some acting on the side. He had his own TH-cam channel (in fact, I think it is still available to watch) and talked a lot about working out, bodybuilders and wrestlers he knew, Muscle Beach and basically everything southern California back in the day. He was a really interesting guy who had some interesting stories to tell.

I used to watch Ric's TH-cam channel where he would talk about all the greats from back in the day, and the high-jinx they got up to. I remember he said on the show that Tom Platz was one of the nicest guys in bodybuilding. I was very sad when Ric passed away, he was a great man. Thanks for sharing this Patrick, it brought back a lot of good memories!

Would love if you could tell us more about the actual workout. For some readers; Tom Platz was notoriously one of the hardest training bodybuilders in the history of bodybuilding. His leg workouts were legendary, the two most notable being 315 for 50 or so reps and another being 225 for one set that lasted ten minutes straight.

You experienced what many young muscle heads back in the day could only dream. Tom Platz was THE MAN when it came to training legs!

I actually got to meet Tom Platz in 1988 at World Gym in Venice Beach. I was only 13. He gave me an autograph. Signed it "Dare to Dream"
