Great Review. I was deciding on a new mattress after my Beauty Rest of 15 years was in need of replacement. I had heard of Purple over the years and watched several reviews yours being the most thorough in my opinion. I checked out your written review and noticed that you had said they discontinued the Purple 4 and basically revamped and renamed the mattress line. So I ran up to my local mattress store and asked about Purple and tried out the new line. I then asked about the Purple 3 and 4 and was told they had a new purple 4 on clearance as the 3 had sold out. I was able to get the purple 4 new on clearance at $1,700 off its original retail price. Thank You and keep up the awesome thorough reviews....
Nice! Purple 4 for $1700 is a good price.
The Restore line, which replaced the Purple Hybrid, Hybrid 3, and Hybrid 4, was a notable step down in terms of performance.
The Purple 4 remains a great mattress and it's a real shame they discontinued it.
@NapLabReviews According to Purple the Restore Premier is what replaces the Puprle 4. That is what they are using for warranty claims for all the 4s that are having grid separation issues.

@@NapLabReviews No I mean a rankings list using the final review score and a list for each category so you can easily see which mattress ranks where in which category.

@@NapLabReviews appreciate that info. Another thing you may want to think about is restructuring the scoring system. Being that a bed is already almost a 10 leaves no wiggle room for anything better. Same logic used by Barstool sports in their pizza reviews. Highest ever in thousands of reviews is like a 9.4
@@Pete_or_Peter4Long Our scoring system is something we're always working to refine and improve. I will certainly take your feedback into consideration.
As it stands right now, our scoring system is is based around the normal rating system most consumers / reviewers are used to...where 4.7 stars and higher is great, 4.5 stars is good, and anything less than 4.5 stars is generally bad / not something you'd buy.
I don't want a hybrid mattress because of my bed frame. HAVE YOU TESTED JUST THE TOP MATTRESS BECAUSE THAT'S ALL I need?

If money wasn't a factor is this better than the 3
or you still would prefer the 3?
The 3 and 4 are very similar. 4 is going to have moderately better performance for heavier weighted sleepers. But for lighter and moderate weighted bodies the performance differences are small.
Some sleepers do notice a firmness difference between 3 and 4. So if you can you should try them in store.
For most sleepers, I'd say you can save the money and go with the 3.
