    The Birkin bag looks like something you would carry tools or shoes in 😂

    I think you hit on a really interesting point here, it is a cultural phenomenon and certain cultures treat the bags differently. For instance in the UK wealth signifiers are extremely gauche and because of the class system here they really are no signifier of wealth at all. Wealth cannot be bought here it is something one is either born into or not, where as in some asian cultures these bags are huge signifiers of wealth and prosperity which is something woven into the fabric of their society as something to be celebrated and congratulated. In the UK it is usually hidden but will be shown in other ways the way people speak where they live where their children go to school rather than a material object. Which is why some people here might be blasé about it because they want it for them and only them because they know it doesn't prove anything to anyone. If anything it does the opposite of prove wealth so you just enjoy it for yourself and keep on moving.

      Here here Richard. Thank you for putting the concept so well into words. Thats the point I was hinting at in my video and it is a topic nobody really dares to touch base on. Was about time ;) ♥️🌈♥️🌈

      Very interesting perspective about how wealth is viewed in different countries. Thank you for sharing.

      Beautifully said. You have to love the brand to truly enjoy Hermès, carrying it to ' prove' you've made it is vulgar I think, especially in the UK. As you say, flaunting brands is the opposite of how old money operates. How beautiful is a well worn Kelly that's been handed down through the generations and loved, Hermès at its best. Not certain influencers begging and imploring with their wishlists and throwing a fit when they can't get what they want. Such people spoil the brand unfortunately, Hermès should be appreciated, used and loved for years, it is not disposable fashion as seems to be the attitude of some.

    I have bought in boutique (Birkin 30) and preloved (Birkin 35). The Birkin 30 size in general is still over retail on the preloved market, sometimes by 10-20k (which is insane!) but the Birkin 35 I got for a steal on rebag for under retail and there were a lot of Birkin 35s under retail when I was looking. So I totally agree if you are open to a bigger bag you can get a deal. It’s been like this for a couple years now!

      yeah she bought a birkin 35 on rebag ;)

    Wow! I did not know people had to go through all that system to get a bag that they don’t even want😱 such a turn off, Hermès. Respect to Alyssa for keeping her grounds👏

    Hmm (Asian here): I guess in general because Hermes is something not from Asia, and is associated with old world/classic/European luxury, it's even more coveted? There just isn't any comparable fashion house like that in Asia. In fact I don't think there is even one Asian fashion house that has been around for that long. It just wasn't in the culture to have such things in the past and now, people are just catching up to this capitalistic status symbol. It could also be for economic reasons- a lot of Asian countries don't have such a wealthy (comparably) history. That's probably why we excel in things like street food vs luxury fashion.

    I'm a 26 year old Canadian-Asian who purchased my first Hermès from the preloved market! I saved so much and it's an 18 year old Garden Party 30 in great condition. I don't aspire to own a B, K or C, but I would love to own a brand new Garden Party 30 or 36 and Herbag 31!

    It's definitely a status symbol among the ultra wealthy of Asia. It's part of something called "face". It's a way to show you belong to that group of poeple, tho it's definitely more of an older generation thing. Younger poeple tend to be more influenced by trends then statue symbols

      @Maje0823 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      We truly don’t need the logos to tell the whole world what we are using or wearing are luxury items. Most of these luxury items can be easily spotted because of their excellent craftsmanship, except the LV 😂. Luxury item is a just a life style, not an necessity for our life. The ultimate luxury items are health, freedom and passion about things we enjoy.

    There are certainly cultural trends which I have experienced and have found fascinating. First time I hear someone talk about it and would love to know more about it. I remember standing in a few luxury store queues in Toronto and literally everyone but me was Asian….very interesting 🤔

    The bag was totally different than her specifications, like they had zero neutral Kellys or Birkins?

  • @pinkkitten_nails
    @pinkkitten_nails 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    Her actions are what it would take, on a massive level mind you, to end the mind @#$_ery of what this brand does. Studio 54 was one of the 1st to use these secret society tactics to make it so successful. The never ending line of another level to attain. The grand V.I.P. room of the regular V.I.P. room which requires you to jump through more hoops than the first VIP room to gain entry etc... I believe the Freemasons we're the first to use this. (Not entirely sure) I applaud their marketing techniques as I get definitely made them notorious but I have to question why don't the other brands feel the need to do this? Dare I say because the other brands designs are so appealing they don't need to play into this? I guess what I am asking is why are they truly desired so much? One would have to assume it mostly falls to the human nature of desiring what we can't have. I'm not saying by any means there craftsmanship is not exquisite, I know it is. I'm simply making an observation. Love your videos by the way honey. Keep up the good work.

    Omg Dacob. You don’t even know what your talking about. Your comparison to the Hermes experience is made by you like it’s all such a game. If there bags were machine made like the Chanel ones are. Then maybe you could walk in and get an overpriced Chanel machine made bag. What is so ironic is that you making more and more videos about Hermes knowing that the subject is what is making you money not those over spoken discussions about Chanel bags.

    • @SuperDacob
      @SuperDacob  3 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      This is not a competition. Lol. You are the one with an Hermes avatar so I guess you feel butt hurt. Haha. If you want to analyze the reasons about why I make these videos, why don’t you start your own TH-cam channel and make a video about it honey, it will last longer. Thanks for watching my video either way. 😘
